Try gesture mode! - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Go to the asus customized settings and under tracked select gesture mode... Of course this only works if you have a dock!
It's really sweet you can
Use 2 finger multitouch to zoom in and out!
Is a little more accurate than the cursor when selecting stuff like icons!
If you find anything else out about it let me know

This has never been tested on a Tegra 3 device, so I would appreciate some feedback here - is it working!?
Anything to report?
Where can we use it for?
Eh? Im not sure i understand...
Just installed it, amazing app, i was actually looking for something like this yesterday! I wanted a way to lock my screen while watching movies so I wouldn't exit fullscreen mode accidentally.
Thanks!

Great! Any suggestions?
What would be some good other uses for this besides movies?
Downloading now. I imagine this ould be used to block palm detection for drawing like on Sketchbook Pro and the sort. I'll edit this after a review. Thanks for the opportunity.
What? Palm detection? I think it will only work on a few devices...
I wish I could use this for the soft keys on the navigation bar. It would really help cause I'm left handed (I keep hitting the back/home keys by mistake when I'm writing on my Prime).

OK after using it today, i found it pretty straightforward and simple to use.
Found only one small bug, when playing a video, on YouTube, stock player or whatever, if you touch the screen the on-screen controls jump on, you cannot press them, but the UI do popup.
And one suggestion, the resizeable square where you select the zone to be blocked from touches should have at least a small pad or something to drag it. Once the square reaches the borders it gets really hard to pick again.

On the latest ICS update. Go to settings/ASUS customized settings/system bar lock/enable system bar lock. Now you won't hit the home key or any softkey buttons.

I don't think it can be used for that. You could use TouchScreenTune app, paid version can handle palm detection on our device.
This app is for blocking areas of the screen.

Noticed something weird on my Note - you can hover over stuff

I was playing around with my Note and noticed this really weird thing.
Go to http ://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#WSPTVk!egb!acZbcc (a calculator for Diablo 3) (sorry can't post links). On your computer, you can see that whenever you hover over the icons another screen pops up with a more detailed explanation. Also if you click it it pops up a different screen with more information.
How to replicate this on your Note: You can of course get to the menu by clicking on the icons. But for the hover over: This sounds silly, but put the S Pen about 1 cm off the screen over the icons. It should display the hover over menu. So far, I've seen this work on the stock browser and the Reddit News app (which I think uses the stock browser).
It's not weird, they made it like that. The s-pen acts like a mouse. You can mouse over things by hovering it around, you can left click by touching it down onto the screen, and you can right click by holding it pressed down onto the screen.
If you go to Settings>Pen Settings and enable Hovering Pen Icon (if I recall correctly this wasn't on the original stock ROM, only the leaked updates), then you will actually be able to see the mouse cursor as well, so you can see exactly what you're mousing over.
That's kinda cool actually, i never noticed that about the stock browser. Although i think this may be the first tile I've opened the stock browser since the days of the htc dream and Cupcake or Donut or whatever the thing was running.
Kind of wish Opera had this...

I learned something new and useful from this thread.
Yep. It is a great extra function. Turn on the mouse cursor too and you got a little PC.

This is the best thing since my uncle fester manufactured a 6 foot tobogan out of beer cans, strapped a jet engine to it, installed a flat screen TV, a toilet, and put a mini fridge in it.

[APP] SwiftKey Flow

SwiftKey Flow keyboard now available in beta for phone and tablet!

I've had it for a day now on my Nexus 10 and GS3. Very impressed! The split landscape setup is especially useful on my tablet. Try it and shout out what you think.

Thx so much. I will try it.
dosent seem to be working for me. Its installed and set as default keyboard but swipe does not work
It's swipe in portrait and split typing in landscape. Makes sense for a tablet.

It's swipe while you aren't typing on a url, gmail and etc...
They need to copy thumb keyboard on the spacing and put TAB on main screen....

Not sure what you are trying to say here. The tablet version does not swipe in landscape. I have tried messaging, gmail, forums, notepads, etc. It does swipe in portrait. So, if I am landscape typing an email, then I use my thumbs to type on the split keyboard. Then, in the same process I turn it to portrait and then start swiping. This only makes sense, since swiping in landscape on a tablet seems a huge waste of energy.

You're right, I'm just typing from it and it's lovely. I'm completely sure I'll be buying it. What I was trying to say was that while entering an url, the swipe is disabled, and while typing passwords and such too, so I thought it was disabled all the time. The default android keyboard has swipe on landscape, so i thought this one would too. Thanks for the advice! This keyboard make typing so much easier.
Tried the tablet version and doesn't do auto predict for me.
Not sure what could cause that to happen. Did you configure it after install? Do any words show up?

Do you use boat browser by any chance?
Predictions dont work when using this app for me and apparently its because boat browser specifically tells the keyboard not to predict.
Neither swipe or predictions work on my nexus 10 with chrome and ocean browsers...... Why?
I use ocean and boat but works in nothing
Swipe only works in portrait. If it's not working at all then your best bet is to join the SwiftKey vip forums and report problems to them. After all, it is a beta, and as such they need to know these things.

Deleted this post. Issue was not caused by this app.
I've actually went back to the stock keyboard now.
The predictions are great when you can actually use them but the problem is they deactivate in most apps I use like boat browser. They say that's because boat browser instructs swift key to disable predictions, so why does the default keyboard still work then?
That and the complete absence of arrow keys like the phone version.
Patience expired with this app.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work for secondary users either; you can install it, but it doesn't appear under Language and input.

Simply awesome. Google should buy out this developer and incorporate these features natively. Well worth the $5. This brings one of the best iOS features to android, but with more customizations and functionality.
I agree, I've been using this app for several months on my touchpad. It brings much need functionality to any tablet.
There are the function I setup:
-3 finger downward-right swipe from the top left cornerto kill the app im in.
-3 finger rightward swipe to use the Back function
-4 finger downward swipe to shut the tablet off
-4 finger upward swipe to kill the notification bars.
-4 finger left or right swipe to move to the previous or next app that was is active
-5 finger expand swipe to pull up my favorite apps (in a small menu)
-5 finger collapse swipe to go to the home screen
New one, right side border 2 finger expand to pull up recent apps.
still playing with other custom settings but those are the most used one I have.
Here is a video for those who aren't picturing this app well.

@ Izeltokatl: Thanks for posting your settings. I`m just getting started with GMD and slowly working out a system of custom gestures so I can remove/disable/hide s/w buttons (navbar/statusbar). Even on my Nexus 7, getting rid of the status/notif bar = more real estate! Anyway, I`ll post my custom settings once I have a proper/logical set of gestures in place. cheers!
All I want to do is simple ios gestures.
5 finger pinch to home-close
4 finger swipe left or right to switch apps.
5 finger pinch to close-home is not in the default settings so I had to make a custom one.
Its works,.. after 8-9 attempts..
Guys what am i doing wrong here? I emailed the dev last night too, no response yet. *Edit - DURRRRR! The developer has a thread here, lol*
Cheers!
Google should really implement this, this is easily the best feature on iOS.
I'd use it but I dislike running unneeded processes in the background :/
This took me a little while to setup and get used to, but now that everything is setup, this is pretty great!!

With gmd, if you toggle the status bar off, will it reappear when you receive a notification?

HOW TO (3 Methods): Turn off display without using the power button

Good: Double tap any blank area of any home screen
Better: Double tap status bar
Best IMO: Download and install LMT launcher from here to setup PIE controls. If you find the LMT settings intimidating watch this video. It'll walk you through setup. Go to settings>Set gesture input and choose #2. Under the PIE tab select your pie piece and then under advanced command options choose KEY and put the number 26. Now when you access your PIE shortcut labeled "KEY" it'll turn off the display.
Thanks to members trh1341 and _Sofos_ for helping me figure this out.
These are good tips guys. While I knew all of this. It's good someone got the word out a lot of people don't know!

Method #4: Lock/turn off your screen by tapping the Lock Screen App icon from your home screen, app drawer, or recent apps : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kennethcheng.com.lockscreen.free
I used this on all my phones before I got my G2 and it worked flawlessly.
Does the LMT Launcher allow you to hide the stock soft keys?

You can also just wait anywhere from 30 seconds to 15 minutes and it will go off on its own, unless you have it on never turn off but I think it will eventually lol.
I am using nova launcher and double tap to turn on works fine but won't turn off. Double tap on the status bar is too tricky for me to operate on one hand.
Thanks to a xda user, to get it to turn off with double tap you will have to download /screen off/ app from play store and set the double tap quick key in nova to launch the app. Works like charm.

It's also easy to set up a Tasker task, and then call it on double tap from Apex or Nova
Elixir admin works too, but for some reason makes mine less responsive to double tap wakeup about 1/3 of the time
My favorite is Shake Off. A gentle twist or shake tturns the screen off and its adjustable sensitivity and direction options make it easy to keep from having the screen turn off too easily, pretty sure its free too. Very convenient and highly recommended.
