Problem with Android Market-wont start? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well from where to start... I have Samsung galaxy i7500 with custom rom :
-Android version 2.2.1
-Baseband version I7500II5
-Kernel version 2.6.29-drakaz-GAOSP [email protected]#1
-Mod version GAOSP-2-PUBLIC-BETA-3
-Build version FRG83
my problem is that i can NOT access to Android Market etc. application won't start at all ...i get a grey screen and kick me back to home screen with note android market unexpectly stoped with two options "force close" and "wait" option.....can somebody give me a little help because i am a newbie at android platform,i used a windows platform a lot,but android is more covered with app's ...
ps : i booted this "rom" alone...with help from xda-developers ...and all other things work awesome, speed, stabilty and other performances are just briliant...

Go to settings>application>manage application>all
Go to market and clean cache and data, then go to google frameworks and do the same, clear cache and data, and better if u reboot your phone.
Your market should work again.

If you have a new Rom, you can try to update the gapps. You can found them on the cyanogen mod site.

I think the problem is you have a rom wich is not in your region but you can change the region manually . Give *#272*IMEI Number# in the phone and you can change your location choose the right for you mine is for example middle east . BUt save your data before you do that because that step remove your saved data.
By the way maybe you dont know your IMEI than go with *#06# and here is it.
Have a nice day
Failforce

try to full wipe factory reset on xrecovery or CWM...
if you use the stock rom, try to factory reset on setting..

[Q] Frozen Downloads in statusbar

I am so angry now i could smash my X10 mini pro to the groung!! I tried to download 1 app, and it stopped downloading (still in statusbar with the wodnloading icon). Whenever i tried to tap it and get to stop install, it opened another one. I did this untill it got to 31!!! now i have 31 downloads there, that will never going to download.
I cleared cache, uninstalled updates and still there when i reboot phone. What the hell should i do? I am going crazy.
And there is no Clear Data for the market on the x10 mini pro... Is there any way i can get rid of those downloads stuck in the statusbar? M phone is rooted, stock 2.1 SE rom and a lot of apps + link to SD, so i wouldnt want to reinstall the ROM...
EDIT: can you guys post me the original vending.apk and marketupdate.apk for x10 mini /mini pro?
I'm having the same problem with a x10 mini (not pro) I asked google but they only gave me general information like cleaning cache or do a factory reset. I'm at my god-knows-what-number complete reflash of the phone.
I think the problem is rooting this time i'm gonna give it a try without rooting and if it works try to find another method of rooting. So far I was using flashtool.
I'll post what i find out, right now i'm going with the generic e10a 2.1 update from argentina since the telcel rom doesn't have google talk (thus making the "sign out and in from google talk suggestion completely useless, not that it actually worked).
Also try to download an image (any image) from the browser, even that should get stuck.
I was wrong, again. The root has nothing to do with it. With android software 1.6 everything works, but once I update to 2.1 *bam** the problem returns.
All this happened from day to night!
It's not the router i'm using, two computers, an iphone and a rooted nook don't have any problems!
Ok I tried with another google account and I managed to download one app (the ebay app) then nothing else :/
Sorry I cannot be of much help, maybe someone else has some other ideas? I already tried these from the android market support:
- Cancel the download and retry
- Ensure there is enough space on your device for the app to install
- Reboot your device
- Clear your Market cache (Settings > Applications > Market > Clear cache)
- Confirm there is strong connectivity on your device, and contact your
mobile service provider if you aren't connected
- Uninstall Market updates (Settings > Applications > Manage Applications;
select "Market" under the "All" tab/filter, and touch "Uninstall updates")
- Unmount and remount the SD card (visit Menu > Settings > Storage >
Unmount SD card; then Remount SD card from the same menu, or restart the
device if the remount option isn't available)
- Factory data reset
- Cache and Dalvik Cache format
- Restoring the phone to 1.6 then update to 2.1 (carriers branding tried: Rogers, Telcel, which is the original one that came with the phone and now an unbranded one from Argentina

[Q] Cant download large apps from Android Market

I have a Samsung Galaxy S II (I9100) running GINGERBREAD.UHKG7 Android Version 2.3.4
I cannot download any app that is larger than 10 MB. The Build version for Android Market is 3.1.5. The phone is rooted. Whenever I place a large app to download and click Install, the download bar appears (the little green candy cane looking thing) and it just says downloading and nothing happens. Can you please give me some advice and if possible some step by step instructions on how to resolve this problem? I have tried clearing the cache in the market by going to Applications>>manage applications and no luck. I have also tried a hard reset and still no luck. I will bow to the master who can help me solve this problem.
Reset the Market by clearing the data and cache in application management. Reboot your phone. You may find it works.
I have tried that already, that was one of my first attempts in solving the problem but still no solution.

Weird update state on my Droid with gingerbread 2.3.5

Hi,
I am trying to update my droid charge to gingerbread - running into a weird problem, the phone updated successfully, but the applications, user data etc, stayed on - which I dont want. ( I updated to the new version because the original applications became unstable, kept crashing) - now the apps are all apparently 2.2 versions and dont work on 2.3. Seems like the phone updated the OS but the user and app settings did not wipe as I wanted.
Now the phone has latest software (OS) so I tried to use the privacy setting to wipe all data (essentially factory reset it)but that does not work either.
The phone had a non factory image originally (2.2 debloated, not sure what version, as my friend worked on it) - wondering if that has something to do with the data not being cleared.
Any ideas? Is there a way to command line wipe the data? The recovery mode gives me option to clear / factory reset, that does not work either.

Sorry, but I am not quite sure what your problem is.
You have installed an app or a widget which needs to access your contacts, and you deleted this access?!
Then you should try to un-install the app / widget and re-install it again.
Or has an app or widget deleted (your access to) your contacts?!
Then you should delete this app / widget, and restore your contacts from a backup (Google, KIES, etc.).
Good luck !
The problem is that if you change the rom, the phone gives me problems, for me ejmplo delete access to my contacts photo favorites, also when I download some applications market, will not let me install, it tells me package file ... not valid.THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!
give us deletes about your phone.
go to settings-phone and give us details about your model and currebt rom version.
I have a feeling you maybe trying to flash a rom that is not meant for your version of the phone.
my phone had 2.3.3 android I9100BVKH1 ORIGINAL ORANGE SPAIN, I updated with the orange android 2.3.5bvkj4 kies, but not if something went wrong because my phone started giving problems, then install all types of roms and even Cyanogen, but continues with these things, market release applications and some say I can not install the file package is not valid .... so here install from the original orange spain and now I have the android 2.3.5, version i9100bvkj4 base band, Kermel i9100bvkj4-2.6.35.7-cl681297roor @ dell135 # 2, gingerbread.bvkj4 compilation. but everything remains the same friends, and when you connect it to kies, tells me that I can not update! think it messed up because I still have my original efs. thanks for your help! I hope someone of solution, if not take him to the technical service, because I'm desperate now.
As you have no warranty after installing custom roms your best solution is to start from a clean phone .
Download stock firmware for your phone and Odin ,
Backup data .
Boot phone to recovery go to Mounts and Storage Format cache data system and sd card .
Remove battery replace and go to download mode flash stock rom via Odin .
If it then needs warranty service use usb jig to reset custom rom counter .

[Q] internal storage : corrupted or writting problem ?

Hi,
I have a problem on my smartphone. (For info, it's a motorola atrix, running a Gingerbread stock version (no rooted, no operator specific version)
The problem is : all modifications done after a specific date (new photos, installed apps, send/received messages, preferences changes) disappear after a reboot. Same thing if I delete photos that were on the phone before that date, they seem to be deleted, but after a reboot they come back.
I tried to format, but nothing happened, the memory used stays the same, format is not done though no error message is thrown
The last test will be a factory reset ...
So I was wondering:
- is my memory storage corrupted ? is there any diagnostic app ?
- or is there any "read only" option in Gingerbread that I didn't notice ?
And jost for knowing, what is happening ? Do all the changes are saved in cache, so after reboot the cache is lost and I get back to the last "persisted" state ? Or is there a reset to the state at the specific date done at each reboot ?
Thanx for your help
Ok, I come back here because i need help with my problem, i don't have any idea ...
1) I have tried a factory reset (both mode, via menu, and external reset) : nothing happens, well it tells me it wipes data, reboot, and everything is like before
2) I tried to root the phone, with :
- Gingerbreak
- SuperOneClick
- Pete's Motorola Root Tools
- Unlock Root
Gingerbreak never ends, last time running but keep as it ... so failed
SuperOneClick and PMRT seem to do something, the phone reboot, but rootchecker tell me i'm not rooted
UnlockRoot i faild making it work
3) I check apps, installed avg (just to try, no more idea) but it saw nothing special ... I uninstalled some apps...
The result is same, after rebooting, all the modifications are lost (installed/removed apps, added/deleted files, system parameters, ...)
The only way I image now is flashing the bootloader & install a new rom ...
BUT it's a system, I should be able to see what is happening, which application is messing it up ? Is there an app that reset the phone state after reboot ? I don't understand ...
An help would be appreciated,
thanx a lot
