There aren't any settings besides having the GPS turned on. Go into settings, and location. Enable GPS.

You might be looking for a GPS Test app. If so, you want the market.

thanks, thats what i needed!

GPS position in JPG (EXIF)

Does somebody know how you can store a GPS location in a picture (EXIF-data)? I see some GPS related keys in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\General but they seem to have the correct value.
There is an option to enable something called "GPS Picture", (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\P9, set Enable to 1), but pictures taken in this mode wont safe gps data into the exif.. maybe something else is missing, but so far i cant see what..
*bump*
Anyone got this to work yet?

Hi,
It takes time to get a fix from ur GPS, and taking and saving pictures is way to fast for ur GPS to react. Hence no data saved...
Try activating GPS with something like VisualGPSce
. Should work if the settings for GPS managing are set to auto.

that was one of the first things i tried, since i had the same thought process there. unfortunately, that doesnt work. did that work on your device? there must be something else missing to be able to use this feature..

I'd have to agree. But it does do its job for snapshots. And, if at all possible, GPS information included might actually add quite a bit off usefulness..

prime thinks im 3000km from where i really am

I am incalgary alberta but my prime thinks im in san antonio. my weather widget thinks this, speedtest app thinks this and google maps thinks this.
anyone know what to do to fix this?
and a side question. i know my speedtst ping result will be higher due to the distance to the server, but would my download speed be affected?
Any ideas? Shouldnt it be able to get a fairly accurate result from my wifi/ip address?
I tried connecting through a portable wifi spot i set up on my phone but no change.
Enable GPS and get a fix with it.

Found it. Just where you said. Unfortunately was unchecked so not the problem. Thanks though!
Check it and see if anything changes, then change it back.

didn't help unfortunately.
if i cant figure out the whole deleting my gps data guess ill try a reset.
well tried a factory reset to no avail. Still thinks I am at the same spot in san antonio. Not sure what to do about this.
I assume your using the default Asus weather widget? If so tap it & seein the settings if the "manual" location is set.

[Q] [TW] How to disable pinch out sound

Hello all,
Its getting very annoying: everytime I pinch out on the homescreen to get to the homescreen selection section, a voice is saying some stuff I cant even understand, even in silent mode. Its getting me sick!
How can I disable it? Looked for it everywhere! Someone has a clue?
Thanks in advance.
Am I the only one with this problem? No one else?

Me either as far as I know your not meant to get any either?
Have you added an app as an accessibility service? Maybe Lightflow or Tasker? You can either remove those apps as accessibility services or you could use another launcher. This is a known bug which doesn't really have a perfect solution yet.

I had the same issue yesterday and i solved it
At first i thought it was driving mode(since that reads out things while you drive) then i checked accessibility settings and i disabled talk back(i think).....but that still didnt work.
Found out its lightflow....Has something to do with the app.I think you can disable it but i just removed the app completely and the voices stop
I'm still waiting for my s3 so can't check whether that does the trick or not but the developer of Missed It! said to check that both Talkback and Install Web Script (both in Accessibility settings) are set to off
Sent from my CM9 TouchPad
I've had this problem too and I don't have Lightflow installed. For me, the solution was to go to Settings, Accessibility and under Services turn off 'Addons Detector' which I had installed.
So, perhaps it's anything installed in the Services section causes the problem. A bug perhaps?

[Q] My phone wont stop telling me things...

e.g. "Folder Open" and "Folder Closed"....
I've tried Sound, Language and Input, but I can't see anywhere else find a setting that may help.
I cant seem to get it to stop!!
Does anyone know how to disable this feature?
Thanks,
Paul
I think it's something in accessibility options in settings, I'm on aosp so can't tell you exactly as the menus are probably different
Go to Settings>Accessibility>TalkBack and turn it off.
Use thanks button if i helped you

Turn off TalkBack. But if that doesn't help than you probably have light flow installed which conflicts with talk back. If installed try uninstalling and check again.
Hope it helps

Will this work? (CVE-2013-3666)

I can't find anything that says this was patched, here's the original thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2338327
The only problem I can find is that the hidden menu doesn't display the WLAN Test to get this to work. Can someone please help?

I looked around and saw that there was NOTHING on a patch, so it could? Though I doubt it with MM (for some reason).
I have the Verizon G5 and I've been trying to pull up the hidden menu but it just won't go. RIP.

Yeah there's no official patch. Absolutely nothing is working on getting the hidden menu... I've been trying for hours
Its patched i guess.. They've completely removed the wLan Test activity and service from the menu..
Pretty much a "just remove tht sheeit!!" patch

Not sure if this is the same hidden menu, but tasker lists 4 apps with that name. None of them seem to launch, though.
