Hi!
I'm actually on 6.6.1 mis'os cyanogenmod, with the 06122011 francokernel.
But i have bug, and batterylife is bad.
I think that i need to upgrade with a another room.
So my question is you advise me what rom?
can not find my way personally.
Sorry for my bad english.
Trythis rom.Its updated cm7.2 and flash the old baseband rom.
Thanks for you answer.
So a little question i should use 0.32 or 0.35?

Well I can tell you already, using any .35 kernel is going to kill your battery...its main objective is performance and speed where else .32 kernel is tailored towards battery with some performance...
Have you tried updating your kernel using 6.6.1 because im getting good battery life using 6.6.1
Bit if you wish to remain with .35 kernels I would recommend a-series 7.2-kang
I sometimes had connection problems using 7.2 so I switched back to 6.6.1

And this, boys and girls, is completely bull****.
So i will use this rom :
F-SERIES, .35 KERNEL, OLD BASEBAND Baseband v10E
[10JAN]F2-CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RC0-OptimusOne-KANG
adfad666's CM7.2.0-RC0 Ax .35 gave me terrible screen lag and battery performance. My batter was drained to 50% in just 9 hours without using the phone.
adfad666's CM7.2.0-RC0 A8 .32 with Goldenleaf kernel drained my battery by 10% after 9 hours + WIFI was on an running. The ADW interface also is not as sluggish.
Just an observation mate.

Usethis

Thanks, i have flash the new baseband.
And now i'm flashing [10JAN]N2-CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RC0-OptimusOne-KANG
It's better to flash a another kernel? for better performance and battery life?
Base Band version :
V07u-000-000-MAR-23-2009 is the old baseband?

That is just a bogus string hardcoded in CM7. It will show that no matter which baseband you actually have.
Ok
Thanks, i have the N2 Build and gsm work so i think i have the old baseband.

I've been flashing a multitude of kernels and roms since I got the phone last week, and am wondering what combos people are using.
Performance wise the best combo I have gotten is Stock Bell ROM + Lulz build 11 xxkg3
Currently I am using LULz XXKG3 Build 11 and Lighten'ning rom 1.5
What would you guys say it best for performance? What about Battery life?
I get great battery life and performance with the combo in my sig

I always use Stock ROM (siggy) and CF rooted kernel and Stock kernel to remove YT.
Regards.
Criskelo Rom and ninphetamine 2.0.1 kernel, and for me works good. I am using Criskelos romm for the las 5 month (in SGS1 and now in SGS2).
Cognition 1.30 and ninphetamine 2.0.1
Leomar 2.2 and Nimphetamine 2.0.2, very stable and great battery life. Hope this helps!
Hi guys...I dont have an Ace but my sis asked if I could modify her one. I'm an S2 user myself.
Id be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction for the best Rom/kernel combo in terms of stability, speed and battery life.
She has had random reboot problems on stock Rom several times now and has got a new one from Vodafone because of it.the new phone is on 2.3.3 kp6.
I don't know a whole lot about the Ace but I assume it would be the same flashing process as other droids .. Ie..odin stock Rom, root and flash custom Rom?
Thanks in advance.

stock rom with ketut's cfroot kernel will do just fine, or just flash any custom rom based on stock. all of them are using ketut's cfroot kernel anyway. ace doesnt have much kernel choice like those high end device
cm7 kang is available, but its still not stable enough.

Thanks mate. I'm not a fan of cm7 so il stay clear of that. I've tried it on my S2.
So only cf-root is available? This doesn't improve performance or stability though as its a rooted stock kernel..right?

It fixes the screen of death problem, so that's quite nice for a start, I don't know what else it does to be honest . CM isn't stable yet and most of the other roms are pretty much the same IMHO. Just make sure she gets the latest version of cfroot kernel because earlier ones still suffer from SOD.
I'm using TheMyth rom at the moment and it seems to be very stable, but I can't tell yet for sure because I'm only using it since yesterday.

it not just a rooted kernel, actually it contains many tweaks. ext4 filesystem, tiny rcu, custom cpu governor, bln support etc etc. basicly it does improve perfomance and stability.
Glsmt rom is stable, I've been using it since the last 2 months without problems.

So its not cf-root then if it contains those features. Just reAd its a ported version of cf root so that makes sense. Couldn't see anything about cpu governor. What does it use?

I can only recommend glsmt rom, very stable and fast, but very poor battery life. I used it for more than a month and I never got the battery to last more than a day, sometimes it ran out after 10 hours. I guess that's a bit of a drawback .
So far TheMyth rom has the same performance and I'm still on 60% after one day (14h). But it's still too early to say anything about stability .

FirstUA isn't being developed anymore and it suffers from SOD, so that's a complete nogo unless you don't use wifi...
I Did a test, on 2.3.5 on the xxki3 and xxki4 , with the speedmod kernel s2-k2-16 and de Siyah kernel 2.1.1 and mu battery life is much better with the stock kernel.
What is our opinion. Did the test with the same setting and after a clean install.
Whats this go to do with original development?
I think that the stock kernel is very good and more stable than any mod kernel..

I'd have to say Neutrino 2.6.
It has great batterly life and is super snappy.
It also has different kernels depending on your preference of battery, balanced, or power.
The nightly CNAs. If you dont need the camera. Once that is worked out, everybody will switch to ICS
I've had an Atrix since last October and rooted within days since I got it. I've tried Darkside (don't quite remember which version as it was months ago). then I flashed Aura 1.2.2.2, which I don't think is being further developed, but was very happy with it. Very fast and stable. Then came Neutrino around. Hats off to Notorious for his effort, the rom is superfast and absolutely rid of anything non essential. I am looking forward to see CM9 based version of this rom. since before Xmas I am on CM9 by Jokersax. As with all CM9 roms the stock camera doesn't work, but some 3rd party camera apps do, which is good enough for me. I if you do not use your camera too often try ICS.

Read this post…this is a guide for new atrix users…it has everything from rooting and unlocking version 4.5.91 to links for different roms. Highly recommended!
I like the Neutrino 2.6EE, it is very stable as it's based on the CM7 RC1. I tried CM9 roms love them but, they still have a few bugs like the video playback on some websites and I strangely experience slow web browser speeds (but the battery life was great ) will surely flash one of the cm9 roms when more "stable" versions come out.
I was a huge fan of the Neutrino ROMS but ever since going to turl's ICS, its far too nice to go back to GB. All apps are so much more pleasant to use and scrolling in ICS roms is far smoother than any GB roms, matching iphone scrolling smoothness. Everything from maps to gmail and sms is so much better not to mention the browser which is a huge improvement in terms of speed, usability and smoothness (tip enable the side swip menu options in the labs section of settings). turls latest build has camera working as well so the only thing which i find borked in my day to day use is the camcorder.
+1 what kickassy said. I was previously on Neutrino 2.6, i think it's the best of the GB roms.

Use the .37 baseband as your phone is an AT&T model and use any ROM and kernel you'd like.
Edit: I use turl's latest CM9. Exept for a few games (Temple Run and MC3) not working, it is the best ROM I have used.

This depends on the user. Everyone likes different things - you'll have to experiment for yourself... A ROM that a thousand people love, you may hate.... and vice versa... Noone can tell you what the best ROM is for you. Play around and find one you like.
I've checked with Battery Monitor Widget and my phone is draining around 86ma but apparently it should be around 2-10ma.
I think I've found the culprit, which is lack of signal/no data connection but in my house I'm ALWAYS in a 3G area with FULL coverage, so I don't understand
I'm using CheckROM V6 with modem XXKI4. Could it be the modem? Oh and the kernel is Siyah 2.6.13
Thanks in advance!
Yeah, try a different modem and update your Kernel. The latest Siyah kernel version is 3.3.2

isn't 3.3.2 for ICS?
Yes, it is.
So don't flash it.

So maybe upgrade to ICS, flash another modem and update kernel?

I'm sure ICS drains more battery, does it not?
battery usage/drain differs from phone to phone.. Each phone is customised by the user with different settings etc.. For me ICS gives a better battery life. I have tried Siyah kernel, Fluxi kernel and CM9 kernel. And I get the best battery life with CM9 kernel.
ics
Ics is less battery discharging when using wifi or 3g
But for other things like web browser, gaming
It diffrent from each user, some users are more
Comfortable with the battery life others not
But overall its alot better exprience
