[Q] Root Gingerbread 2.3.6 on GT P1010 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've recently updated my GT P1010 from Froyo (2.2) to Gingerbread (2.3.6) using this method : [WIFI Only] [How-to] GT-P1010 Gingerbread Update
Before update, I could root easily with z4root (to remove stock apps for example).
Now, after update I again have a lot of these stock apps but I can't remove them without root. I tried with z4root, Gingerbreak and with Universal Androot but none have worked
Is there an other way to root Gingerbread 2.3.6 on my GT ?
Thank you in advance,

Excuse me if my English is bad but I'm French

Can't root LGP500 after official update to 2.2.1

Hello!
After the oficial update to 2.2.1 via LGMobileUpdate the phone cannot be rooted any moore.
I tried: Superoneclick, z4root, universal root, rageagainstthecage gui and 'by hand'.
Before the update to 2.2.1 (FRG83) i 'root' the phone without any problems.
Any ideas?
Keep eye on this thread. Few guys are trying to resolve this problem.

[Q] Mini Pro ROM Update (rooted)

Hi
I have an rooted xperia x10 mini pro, i rooted it using superone click. i am currently using android 2.1 update 1, i have installed: SuperUser, Root check, AdFree, CPU Master (free), BusyBox, ASTRO, SuperBox, Titanium Back Up and Applanet.
I want to update my operating system to either Gingerbread or Iridum but things ive read about it say i need App2SD, but where i am running 2.1.1 i cannot install it as it is 2.2 and up...
anyway, what my point is can someone please post a very useful and detailed tutorial, text or video i dont mind i just want to update the android system!!!
thanks
from lewis
So you want to install a custom ROM? You don't need App2SD for that, just xRecovery. Since you said Gingerbread I'm assuming you mean [ROM] Cyanogen Gingerbread CM7 based on MiniCM/CM7v13 (v14.5). Just follow the instructions there.
To install xRecovery, follow the guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878427
or just the flashtool.

[Q] gtalk 4.0.4 apk for GB (root)

Hi all,
This is my first post here so hopefully i'm not breaking any major rule.
I'm looking for a way to install the new gtalk on a stock rooted 2.3.5 i9100.
The latest version 4.0.4 has multiple account support which i've been waiting for ages !
I found britoso's and theos0o's threads for older versions and I2asta method of installing it with root explorer but couldn't find the new one anywhere...
PS
I got my gt-i9100 gb 2.3.5 phone from my work, so I'm not allowed to flash custom firmwares (no chance for CWM and insecure kernels).
Best (and most importantly) I can root & unroot it back with unlockRoot.

[Q] lost root access with F/W 2.3.3 (KG2)- help with telus fascinate SGH-T959D

my telus fascinate SGH-T959D was update to F/w 2.3.3 by mistake
the phones "standard functions" work, but i lost root access and all the desktop icons disappeared. All the apps still appear to be installed, but those that need root are broken.
FW 2.3.3
Baseband T959TLK62
Kernel [email protected] #2
Build number Gingerbread.LK62
Is there a root app for F/W 2.3.3?
The ones i used in the past don't work with 2.3.3
if there is a 2.3.3 root app, can someone please post a link?
if not, how can I get back to the pre 2.3.3 version?
which version should i install so that i can still root the device.
i'm sure that there is posting of the correct stock files to use
At this time, i can't even run the Titanium Backup as it needs root also. thus i can't restore (;
any tips /suggestion would be useful
i do not see any posts for telus fascinate SGH-T959D with 2.3.3
thank you
