How many returns did you do? - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I had some lightbleeding in my Prime so I went to besbuy today to exchange it for a new one. I was expecting they would have to ship it to me BUT THEY HAD ONE IN THE STORE!! lol. It was a customers that cancelled their in-store pickup. But, when I got home to check my screen it was WORSE! I mean the whole bottom half of the screen bad. So back off to BB to exchange it again
How much time have you returned it before you got a good screen.

my screen has been perfect but WI-fi and GPS are a whole other story

Here are mine:
1. Champagne: Perfect screen (seriously: perfect and awesome). Broken haptic feedback. Chemical stain on the back cover underneath the camera and LED flash. Wifi and GPS performance as usual.
2. Gray #1: Minor light bleed but screen otherwise good. Weak haptic feedback. Wifi and GPS performance as usual. Rattle near one of the dock connectors. Returned.
3. Gray #2: Terrible light bleed. Screen has a distinctly yellow cast. Weak haptic feedback (which I'm now inclined to think is normal). Wifi and GPS performance as usual.
I might be getting a Gray from the H.H. Gregg $399 deal, which if it's good will replace the Champagne unit (which itself will get returned to Abt).
I mention this only because asked, not to complain. I'll note the following as my other most recent early-adopter gadget purchase experiences:
1. HP Envy 14: went through three before I got a unit where everything worked. Lots of problems overall (loud fan whine, broken keyboard and keyboard backlighting, non-functional DVD drive).
2. Epic 4G: went through three before getting one where everything worked.
3. Motorola Photon: went through two. First one had wonky haptic feedback (seems to be a thing with me) and a loose battery cover that creaked like an old lady.
Bottom line: I'm not sure it's possible any more to buy a piece of technology anywhere near launch day and not have tons of problems. I don't care who you're buying from--Apple, HP, Dell, Samsung, ASUS, Motorola, et. al. Either wait a few months for the kinks to get worked out, or prepare to perform the buy-return shuffle.

I really dont hope I have to go through that! Hopefully I will only need to return it one more time, but I heard of others returning it 3 or 4 times.
Also about the haptic feedback. My first one was weak but the new one seems way to powerful. MUCH more that my Acer Iconia and that has a powerful feedback.

Please don't be under the impression that this is anything close to a NORMAL experience. This is far and away the exception to the rule. The majority of people that don't have problems, don't constantly post about how many problems they don't have. You just don't hear from them. These are isolated instances where people have had multiple returns, the majority have tablets that perform exactly as expected (except for GPS).

Yah know, it's not the most important thing, haptic feedback. But I just want it to work. I'd love to get one with feedback that seemed TOO powerful vs. the three I've tried.
It's weird, but that's one of the things I wished my original Transformer had. So although I could happily keep the Champagne unit with it's pretty much non-functional feedback but pretty good everything else, I kind of want one where everything at least _works_.

I returned one.
It had a busted vibrator...just ticked like it was rubbing the back plate.
It also had two stuck pixels.
The second one has a minor screen defect. Looks like a pinpoint of light bleed in the lower left of my screen. Similar to a dead pixel but it is coming from behind the screen and only shows up on a white background. I'm keeping it since it is very minor.

None. I'm keeping mine

Where did you get your Prime, when? issues: Yes/No?

OK, before you guys start yelling at me... read my post first.
I bought mine from Fry's BM store, 12/24. So far I have no issues other than getting used to the huge keyboard and sometimes non responsive touch or I have to touch harder than im used to. Every so often I get a black screen when launching settings, gallery etc. But can be resolved by hitting the back key and start over.
My wifi was terrible the first few hours but got much better after. In the bedroom where my iPhone reverts back to 3G because of lost wifi connectivity, my Prime continues to work with 1 bar.
My GPS kept failing to refresh but that's because I unchecked the boxes under my location.
The only big problem I have is that the connector for the charger started to peel away from the pins. My iPhone 4 charger is still very intact and its a year old. I dont get it.
I've been reading posts from people that got theres from Gamestop that has loose parts issues or wifi etc. Best Buy shipped/shipping theirs in just an envelope without padding.
Im just curious as to what batch may be bad or from which store had the most issues?
Gamestop, east coast 12/22, GPS issue and faulty HDMI port. Perfect other than that.
TF201 / XDA premium
Gamestop, east coast 12/21, GPS issue , Dust under screen, minor light bleed, unworthy performance (don't think this is a defect).
Sometimes it laggs or freeze completely (goes to a black screen) and causes a FC, also have had a few reboots, trying to deal with it and hope for a update fix.
Most people that claim they have no issues either don't know any better or are in denial about their purchase.

From where?
Picked mine up on the 22nd from Gamestop in Seattle. GPS doesn't function but wi-fi is just as strong as all my other mobile devices. No light bleed. No black screens or os-wide force closures. Some apps are super smooth, some aren't. Not completely happy with any browser's performance so far. But overall there isn't anything glaringly wrong with my tablet... yet.
And I do know better, and I'm not in denial.
Newegg 12/24, Champagne with minor light leakage around corners (only clearly visible during boot).
Best Buy
12/27 finally
Love the thing. No issues at all. I had a few freezes before the firmware update but been fine since.
Even arrived in good shape which is unusual for ups.
All good with my grey TP. No hardware issues... only software.
I bought it Christmas eve at Frys in Manhattan beach.
Issues:
YouTube videos don't play
Camera issues -force closes
A reboot fixes them but youtube isn't prefect and freezes and FCs again.

Clueless alert!!!
J&R, 32GB Grey, 12/23. No hardware issues I'm aware of, knock on wood. GPS works, was able to lock without wireless, screen is fine, no connector issues, build quality feels great. Not in denial either, because if there is a problem I intend to exchange within my return window! Software-wise, disliked the keyboard, so I got SwiftKey tablet, browser is slow so I use Opera and Dolphin, sometimes I need to repeat touch gestures, but not a big deal. I also may have had one random reboot when trying to charge, but that's about it. Overall, a happy Prime owner!
Newegg, December 23rd, absolutely 0 problems so far.

Ditto. .
Ordered 11/29 from Best Buy, shipped 12/20 and received 12/21 via UPS ground from Fresno. Screen defect (bright blob in screen), GPS didn't work (never got it to lock indoors our outside) and vibration motor created an occasional grinding noise and felt weak/inconsistent. Returned it 12/22 for a refund since they definitely don't have any in stock. Will wait for some time to buy another... if ever.
Newegg 12/22 gps not locking so sold mine in CL dont wanna deal all nonsense shipping back to newegg and wait for refund.ill wait till everything fix by asus.good luck to everyone having them return or waiting for exchange their unit.Happy Holidays pepss!!!

eBay, 12/21. Screen has a little yellow tint, but it seems like it is going away.
No issues with wifi or gps. Get a lock indoors within seconds.
Gamestop 12/22 . no issues what so ever so far. very satisfied with wifi strwngth, display, and performance. still have to test GPS out though. not too pressed about that. if it works, like its supposed to, great. if not, OK then. ill either just live with it or exchange it. what I won't do is come up here complaining about it. as long as my wifi, display, and performance has been great like it has been, I'm good. of course I want all features working properly but I'm not going to hate the prime or regret my purchase over it.
ill test GPS out tomorrow or later today, I mean
Staples. Ordered 12/22. Got it today. Wifi works well (tested side by side with my HTC Evo using wifi analyzer and the Prime was slightly better). GPS locks in no problem while indoors. No screen problems (e.g. no bleeding, no dead pixels, etc.). Haptics feedback is pretty weak, not sure if its my device or its just weak in general. Otherwise, everything looks good (so far).
Gamestop 12/21 - Very slight screen bleed - possible slow GPS? Found five sat's in 10 mins with no lock. Otherwise good.

fry's no pre order bought Monday Dec 26. first champagne 32 gb, light bleed 7 dead pixel and no function GPS. exchange Tuesday morning Dec 27 champagne 32 gb. almost perfect but a couple tiny (super super tiny) dead pixel I can live with and a non working GPS, which case so annoying. people need to test there GPS in a car driving and see how long it stay connected. mine keep on disconnecting and very inaccurate in less than 20 miles drive. getting ready to return the second one and hang on to my xoom until something better comes along with IPS display.

Hopefully 4th time is the charm

So far I have returned 2 primes because of bad screen bleeding and every time it is getting worse. MUCH WORSE.
Just gut my 3rd 10 mins ago and this is what I get.

Welcome to the club. I returned 3. I don't care so much about screen bleed though, especially on the boot screen where it is most noticeable. I had stuck pixels and other weird issues.
I had two Primes with screen defects. I returned both and finally gave up on the TF201. I like the tablet overall; but lets get honest - someone over there in Taiwan is sleeping on the job when it comes to quality control. They need to be fired. It's absolutely unacceptable in this day and age for the same people to receive multiple defective units. Any my screen defects were not minor - they were pretty glaring.
Screen bleed is not even noticeable in everdsy use or during regular functions. it's only during bootup. if its minor, then that's normal. if its major bleeding, then exchange once again.
1st return due to dead pixels
2nd returning tomorrow due to 3 light bleeds
hope the 3rd one will be the one

all my apps have a bowl or dark background. And i mainly use it at night. So it is considered regular use for me. But this light bleeding is so bad you can see is in bright light on low brightness. I should if kept my first one. At least I could sort of tolerate it

Same here:
1 returned for lots of stuck pixels and backlight bleed
2 even more stuck pixels, less bleed
3 almost no stuck pixels (still some though) but the worse in backlight bleed and had a creaking screen
Tomorrow I will get my 4th unit, but I don't get my hopes to high up
* I know IPS screens cannot be without some light bleeding completely, but my specimens all had these nasty large "bulbs" which can even been seen on lighter backgrounds.
Returned my second prime today. Light bleed and off center screen. Bestbuy had one other there.but it was onhold!! Grr.. Want my tablet back.

No wonder people are struggling to get a TP, all you guys are returning them for minor issues.....don't like screen bleed? Turn the light on when using it..there problem solved.
Asus would've done fine with sales if people weren't so anal about minor things like screen bleed or not being able to use GPS in their concrete and lead lined houses. Well done you guys
they should have made a white bootup screen. Then no one would have noticed it...
I dont have my prime yet but i guess its the same as with my phone? For the bootup screen brightness is set to 100%?

Yes it looks like the boot screen is set to 100%. Mine looks very poor too. Once passed the boot screen no complaints
I've had screen bleed on two Primes that was noticeable on ANY dark background and detracted from the enjoyment of using the device. I also had one where the light bleed was not noticeable on any (normal) screen, and I would have kept that one had it not had other problems (non-functional haptic feedback, a rattle near one of the dock connectors that got worse over time).
My wife's Galaxy Tab 10.1 has zero light bleed. My original Transformer had tons of light bleed that was only visible when booting; I never noticed it otherwise during 8 months of use.
Light bleed is something that I think it highly subjective as to whether or not it's a problem. Nobody can say one way or another whether it's a problem for a given person and/or with a given device. Returning a device because it has an issue like this, therefore, is entirely appropriate and it's ridiculous to assert otherwise. Keeping a device with light bleed can also be entirely appropriate.
People have different standards for their devices. And nobody should feel like returning a device somehow deprives another consumer. It's up to the company to make enough of something, not for every potential purchaser to bite the bullet so some stranger can move up in the line.
If you are looking for perfection in something, I think you'll be highly disappointed.
Mine has some bleed but I don't even notice it once ICS is up and running.
I completely disagree. If you spend your hard earned money on something it should be free from defects. I havent complained about the gps at all. I personally do not care. The people that do care however I leave alone because gps is stated on the box. It doesnt say sometimes working gps it says gps. As for screen bleed and dead pixels....are you kidding me?? Do I agree with the hundreds of threads on the issues? No. But I do believe your product should work as advertised. Guess what, Asus isnt doing charity work here. Ever heard of cost of doing business? I run a 3 million dollar a year high end tile and stone store and i replace material for what sometimes seems like nothing to me but then I remeber..oh yeah these people that are spending 4-6k on their bathrooms are WRITING my paycheck....If something has a minor chip or scratch..guess what? Its replaced. No questions asked. This is the reason my company has gone from 24 stores to 62 store in the last 5 years. Im not talking 800sf gamestops either.. im talking 25000sf 3+ million to open showrooms. So if you are a manufacture like us sometimes you need to SUCK IT UP and do the right thing. No matter how insignificant it may seem to you these people work hard for their money just like I do. If Asus was non profit maybe I would feel different but they arent. They are in it to win it and are competing with the big boys in town and need to get their act together!!!!

Good for posting this, it will let others know just how bad it really is.
My first prime from Gamestop has screen bleed and horrible performance, i sold it and got another from Office Depot which so far has been perfect (besides the gps, wifi and bluetooth defects we all have).
I was going to try and sell my second prime and be done with Asus all together but nobody around here will buy it lol, so I decided to just hang on to it.
A device like this should come with no defects, and you shouldn't be expected to lay down and just take it in the rear.

WiFi sort of DOA - until I thumped it. Keep it?

Picked up a grey 32GB at Best Buy yesterday. Got home, charged and then connected to my wireless: Netgear WNDR4500. It connected but said I was at -1mbps. Minus? Reset the router, restarted the tablet/computer/dsl gate/etc. Still -1mbps.
I remembered where the antenna was from Anand's teardown so I moderately thumped it with a flick of my finger (like playing paper football with the triangles). As soon as I did BAM! 65mbps! Seriously? Should I keep this thing or take it back?

might as well keep it...it'll be under warranty if it goes again....and you never know if there's more stock available.
It shouldn't revert again most likely since if the pogo pin antenna thing was stuck in the down position it is now in the up position with no way of being pushed down again.
I concur
Modded by MBOK
I would carefully evaluate the unit to make sure EVERYTHING else works to your satisfaction: audio, haptic feedback, screen quality (not too yellow, good colors, solid text), GPS (to whatever extent it matters to you), microphone, touchscreen, etc.
If everything checks out, then consider keeping it. I'm faced with the same sort of decision myself. I have three sitting in my house that I'm trying to decide between (or return all of them and get a different one entirely, or even just give up):
1. Great screen (excellent temp, great colors, very solid text) except for one stuck pixel, decent haptic feedback, but a vibration from the speakers at full volume, non-functional GPS, weaker wifi.
2. Good screen (a little warmer than #1, colors are good but not as much detail, text decent but not as sharp) but a little light bleed, great GPS (locks quickly to many satellites indoors, as many as 12/14 outdoors), stronger wifi, but broken haptic feedback and stains on the backplate that I can't remove.
3. Horrible screen (whites are a dingy yellow, color is washed out, text is pixellated), non-functional haptic feedback, good audio, good GPS and wifi.
All three are BCs and 0214 hardware builds. #3 is clearly going back, but with #1 and #2 I have to choose between the best screen I've seen on a Prime and the rest that's wrong with it. Not an easy choice--I can see details in images on its screen that I can't see on #2.
My point? As Forrest Gump would say, you never know what you're gonna get. If you return the one you have, you run the risk of getting one with more of a problem.

Admittedly off topic but did you buy these all from 1 place? We are clearly in different leagues as I would not have the balls to return three of these to the same vendor not to mention explaining the $1500 in charges to the credit card to compare screen colors to my wife.
Could be the pogo pins... if the SN starts with BC0CK it has bad hardware probably
Last night all was well. It is a BC but I've not heard/read any bad BC stories unlike some bad C stories.

Finally!!! Asus!!!

After 2 defective launch ATP's, yesterday I finally got a almost perfect unit with dock. My first 2 Primes from Gamestop were a nightmare. They both had every problem reported. The Prime I bought is fantastic. Even the GPS works perfect w/o WiFi. No lag or anything even with the Killer Whale pacing back and forth. No FC's or restarts with ICS. I Love it.
No problems with the camera and flash.
The only 2 problems that bother me is that, no matter what video player I use the audio always lags through Bluetooth and WiFi and Bluetooth do NOT work at the same time. I really enjoy this Prime because the resolution is perfect for my emulators. Anything higher would cause some of my movies and emulators to look like garbage. The Prime and dock really are a premium product as long as you get one that works. Thank You everyone and Gary Key for pushing Asus to finally put out a world class product.
So moral of the story: 1 out of 3 chances you will get the product you paid for.
I think Asus has stepped up their quality control recently.
What is your serial (only the first 5/6 letters)
So did you get your 3rd TP from GameStop as well or did you purchase it from somewhere else?
So this is very very interesting as it is the second thread that someone has posted indicating a "perfect" prime.
The first thread, I was like "BS" due to the fact that the OP really didn't say anything afterwards. It could, perhaps, be that Asus finally observed the issues with the QC and finally made corrections. After bringing back 2 primes because of backlight bleed, perhaps its time to make another run.
I would like to see the first 3-6 letters of the Serial number, also, if you have the chance a picture of a black background with no backlight bleed. After all, I think you owe it to us to provide some sort of "proof" considering your claims. You just can't come on here and say, "I have a perfect prime" with nothing to show for it when we have so much other material to work from that indicates the Prime is a horrible piece of hardware.
Sure he can. Why not? Why would he owe you anything in that respect?
I think what it boils down to is quality control issues, so it's the luck of the draw... just like there are bad/weak ones coming out, the probability is that there will be ones with no issues as well, and it seems he was able to find one of those.
I mean, mine is as "near-perfect" as it seems to get too... no lockups, the wifi works well, as does the GPS (I don't think it would hold up in real time navigation, but it picks up about 12 sats in a short period of time indoors on the ground floor of my house.) And, it has very negligible light bleed.
That being said, this is my 3rd prime (the previous two I returned due to quality issues - dead pixel, bad light bleed on one of them)
The interesting thing is, I upgraded both of those previous primes to ICS before I returned them (I figured "why not" since they were going back to the store anyways - if they start locking up, no problem). I upgraded them both to ICS without any issues, and used them about 2-3 days each before returning them... not a single lockup on either of them
I'm now on my 3rd prime (all WW SKU), and given that the previous 2 upgraded no problem, I decided to upgrade this one as well. I did, and it's been rock solid.
My friend has one as well, also upgraded to ICS. Also no issues.
So for the record, there's 4 that upgraded to ICS no problem.

My 3rd prime is perfect as well. The gps is weak but it at least works. Not a big issue to me. I think I have fixed the lag-i\o issues as well.
I have a perfect prime n not showing y'all a damn thanggg...lmfao. if you want to be short sighted n believe all the negative stuff then do so. We just just continue to enjoy our devices as we see fit. PRIME is an Excellent piece of hardware when done properly. If it wasn't, I been would've returned mines. Fact for me is, it works great in my day to day use.
I just bought a used prime yesterday on graiglist for $350. Iwas not aware of all issue this table has. I bought like new in box condition and now checking all theproblems list i am happy to say that mine is perfect. No backlight issue, amazing wifi range as good has my laptop, gps connect in a second without wifi, serial number show corret. Im in love with this and getting rid of my useless touchpad

I had this same problem with my original Transformer, with Netflix and my Motorola S9-HD headphones. I never did resolve it, so I simply started using wired headphones.
Bottom line, I don't think this is a Prime-specific issue...
Mine works fine. My GPS reception is mediocre, but it does work. Everything else is perfect.
You guys need to understand that defective products exist. I recently got a galaxy nexus and the phone had awful reception. Dropped connections every 20 minutes or less. Got verizon to replace it with a new phone which works perfectly.
Mine is also fine. Barely any light bleed, GPS not great, and one miniscule bright spot on the screen (not a dead pixel). Everything else is gravy.

We agree that defective products exist. But Asus is clearly having an issue with quality control. And it isn't an issue with just a small few. 90% of them have backlight bleed issues. If you think you don't, you're probably not looking hard enough.
What it really comes down to is what you personally are willing to live with. My prime is great, wifi is strong, gps works (locked on 5 sats last night) however it has a single dead pixel. Is this a game breaker? No. My first prime had 2 bright areas and 2 dark areas. This was a game breaker. I returned it and ordered a new one. Now the new one has a dead pixel however when actually using the prime I don't notice one single dead pixel.
If you can live with the issues you have with your Prime, great. Use the hell out of the TFP and give it great word of mouth. If you have a defective unit and you can't live with the defects by all means return it. I would never advise anyone to do otherwise. I'm a giant advocate for not accepting poor service or quality. I worked the last 4 years doing QA, I know how things go.
However if you can't seem to find your perfect TFP, let it go. Find another device and just move on. We understand your frustration but continually badmouthing something others like/love will only cause contempt and discord.
This is not directed at anyone in particular.
TLDR: If you have a good TFP great, if its defective sorry return it and move on.

Maybe I'll take a pic later to show no bleeding. I'm not sure why you don't believe me. Look at my previous posts here. I'm probably the last person on Earth to give the ATP praise. This is the first positive thing I've said about the Prime....and it was hard for me to do so, with all the negative posts I have made about my past experiences.

I noticed my bezel seems a lot tighter than my previous primes. I think that has something to do with backlight bleeding.
The Prime on display also had no backlight bleeding. I had made arrangement to take the display model if my Prime had bleeding.

My 3rd prime is perfect as well. The gps is weak but it at least works. Not a big issue to me. I think I have fixed the lag-i\o issues as well.

I had this same problem with my original Transformer, with Netflix and my Motorola S9-HD headphones. I never did resolve it, so I simply started using wired headphones.
Bottom line, I don't think this is a Prime-specific issue...

Bestbuy.
How are you guys testing your gps? What I do to test is open google maps so I can get a map of my area. Then I drive around the block and see if I'm being tracked real time.
I drove around here in Anchorage with a constant lock on 8. There is a discrepancy of about 65 feet. Can someone pleaase help me with Bluetooth audio delay during video playback? This delay does not happen with Youtube or Netflix. It only happens with every video player I use. Asus wants me to RMA. There's no way I'm giving up this Prime!!!

Has anyone got a defective free Prime yet?

Serious Question, This week I'm getting my 6th and 7th Prime I have went through 5 Primes everyone of them has had issues, other than GPS. I don't really care about GPS, I have a 4.5 inch screen on my phone, and it works fine for GPS. I can deal with a GPS issue. I'm not saying that is the case for everyone especially the early adapters, that bought it for intended use of GPS.
Has the Prime even made it off the shelf without a problem? I have had to return everyone that I have received so far because of really weak WIFI issues or WIFI and Blue-tooth together made my WIFI useless. Luckily I haven't had the rebooting problem yet, I did have to shut it down a couple times because the screen just started going crazy out of nowhere.
These are the Last 2 I will take a chance on, I will wait for the new lenovo or Acer or even the 300 or 700 if these fail its over goodbye Prime have a nice life. Hopefully someday someone will fix you, and turn you into the beast you could be. If someone was really good at modding they could make a lot of money from the community here.
So basically in all seriousness, I wanted to know how many people have actually got a defective free Prime? Be honest!
Well, I only got one Prime, and I returned it becaouse of screen artifacts and a bright pixel. I hope the next will be ok, but since I returned 5 Iconia Tab A501 in the past due to pixel problems... I won't hold my hopes high.

I got two Prime, and 1 Dock.
One prime for me, one for my younger brother.
Both our prime are fine, except for weak GPS, no screen bleed, Good Wifi(As good as my Asus netbook, and my brother's alienware notebook)
We ordered from Bestbuy if that helps.
There is a topic with poll, 400+ people are satasified with their device.

I've had my Prime since Monday - serial number starts C1. The only problem i've had so far was removing the micro-sd spacer.
(If your micro-sd port is not set square to the primes left hand edge the spacer will rest on the inner edge of the case surrounding the port. Solution - use an electric style screwdriver with a blunt end to press down in one corner and angle out the spacer after activating the spring mechanism.)
Wifi seems better than my HTC Desire, but I haven't checked this with bt.
Nor have I checked the GPS.
No bad pixels.
No light bleed. Though I haven't looked hard!
Browser works fine with good streaming and download speed. (to my untrained eye.)
Charged once for about 5 hours whilst using the Prime attached to the dock, which gave me approx 10 hours of use, including gaming, video, music, browsing and setting up, widgets, apps, preferences, etc before both batteries were fully drained.
Charged it overnight last night and can report 100% charge to both batpacks.
I am finding my feet in ICS as my Desire still runs on v2.2 Their is much more control here, although the layout is familliar it feels like breaking in a new pair of brogues. It will be comfortable eventually! I guess HTC's sensui has a bit to do with the slightly alien feeling I am experiencing on the Prime.
"Touch formica desk" I can declare myself satisfied with an excellent and fully working, problem-free Asus Transformer Prime in glorious Amethyst Grey.
note to self - I must check out the GPS and search for lightbleeds.
Got one prime in January and its been perfect for me ever since. There are some software issues that could be worked out but i'm sure that will come. I dont even have a car so gps? meh.
btw just did my powerpoint presentation yesterday with the prime. It didnt let me down and it went really well. Its just that more subtle if you just have a tablet lying there imho.
Third time luck for me.
The first one had no HDMI output and bad light bleed.
The second had a very yellow screen which eventually stopped working.
I've had the third for a week now and I've had no problems. Everything is perfect.
yup!
I went through 10 Primes total to get a good one. Even so the wifi range is subpar.
At this point I would return the Prime and get a new iPad 3rd gen.

had my first one since 12/22. one of the earliest batches. All it took was the first one for me crazy how some go thru multiple ones.
My Prime was neither defective, nor free.
All seriousness, first Prime, received on 12/21/11, and I've never had any issues.
I'm a serious android freak and have never noticed light bleeds or pixel problems on any of them. Maybe its because I don't look for them idk. If I knew what they looked like I'd probably see one or both on all of my devices (5 tablets and my phone) because I'm mental and have major ocd. So whoever replies to this don't fill me in. Thanks!
Better yet I won't come back.

I have my first prime still. I bought in on Dec 23rd. The last update seems to have fixed my in and out wifi problem. So other than GPS, not working that great, I would have to say its perfect. I do love the Prime.
Defect-free, no problems as of yet. I've had since mid-January.
"Has anyone got a defective free Prime yet?"
I had to pay for mine!
No GPS (which bugs me but isn't really vital) but everything else is perfect and always has been.
No bleed. No dead pixels. OK WiFi. Can stream video & use BT headphones
My only slight issue is the Ally case where the power cord plugs in, has bent very slightly. No idea why or how.

Mine is perfect pretty much.
sometimes it seems like the wifi is slightly weaker - but I think its a placebo effect because I'm waiting for it to mess up.
Don't really use my gps but the 3 or 4 times ive fired up google maps it was right on the dot.
no light bleeds.
Got mine on December 30th and has been perfect since. The one time o tested GPS I got fixes and everything, have not used it since but as soon as I do need it for something I will definitely report how it goes, though who knows when that will be as in over two months I have yet to actually need it for a single thing. My wifi is just fine and has worked perfectly in a plethora of places. I have yet to have a place where I can connect and not been able to.
I can detail the rest but would rather not. My prime has been perfect for me and defect free. I don't consider the tiny amount of light bleed I have in the bottom left corner a defect. I can only see it during bootup which is only during is updates as otherwise I never restart. It is absolutely 100% invisible during all normal usebi have put it through in time of my ownership.
So yeah, first prime and defect free.
My first prime ordered on December 26th the camera did not work, everything else was great. Second prime no issues whatsoever.
1st Prime here- C1. No issues at all, besides GPS. Solved that with Bluetooth2GPS & my Nexus. Was worth every penny to me so far perfect compliment to my phone
