[Q] Made a big Noob mistake. - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

First id like to say thanks for any help you can provide.I was able to root my nook tablet without any problems at all.I was having a field day downloading all i could find.I installed the Homecatcher app and when i pressed the n button i was able to choose between pro launcher,go launcher EX and the nook home page.Heres the problem i somehow set the nook home as the default. Now when i press the n button nothing happens.I can no longer access settings or the web browser.what should i do to get back to my rooted nook tablet?Once again thanks for any help.

Installing another launcher is an easy way to clear the defaults.
Edit: if you can't get to the market on your NT, go to market.Android.com on your computer and you should be able to send one to your device.

Newly Rooted with couple of questions

Newly rooted as of yesterday. Working great but finding couple of issues.
I used the Tech by XDA and could not tell you what version I have of the root. Not really up to date with that terminology yet. However using Launcher Pro. When I single hit the N button still brings up my old Nook menu. When double tapping N goes to Andriod home screen. I have read threads on clearing Cache under the settings via android screen, but only settings I have is for the Nook. Is there some other place I need to be looking for that. Even in my andriod apps under settings takes me to org nook settings.
Next when downloading the Nook for android app its not working but taking me out to the home screen on andriod. I downloaded the kindle app and working fine.
Next question--Using Launcher Pro Plus and the + tabs on the menu dock does not work anyone have issues with that??
Next attempting to download Chase and Bank of America via the market. The app names come up when searching but not present.
Is launcher pro the best launcher to be using or do you recomend another.
--I am assuming the new market is on my device should I be going back to the older market. If so how would I do that??
--Last read a thread on LCD density...Should I be messing with that. I downloaded but not really sure how to use it. What is best app to use for that and do you have to rebot when using.
Sorry for all the newbie questions just starting out using platform but excited to learn

[Q] Problems with B&N U button

Hi everyone
Thank you for a great forum, I rooted 2 Nook tablets using info from here. But...
Hate to post a new thread, but I failed to find a solution myself. I have 2 Nook Tablets. Both rooted before the 1.4.1 update. And now they are still 1.4.0.
Nook Tablet 1 - I deleted all B&N apps and other stuff with Zergy. After using Nook for a week I got a problem with U button - when I press it and press HOME after it does not work saying "No activity found to handle Intent {act=com.bn.intent.action.home.flg=0x14400000".
Please can you advise me how to get the HOME button back?
Nook Tablet 2 - I did not deleted all B&N apps and other stuff with Zergy, after using it for a week I got a different problem - Nook went back to B&N by itself!!! And looks now as if it was never rooted! I reset it and tried to root again. It worked, but when I press B&N HOME button - it went to B&N again!!
Please, can you help me?

Dual Booted Tablet acts like has a Virus

I have a dual Booted Tablet. When I hit the N button it usually asks me if I want to go home or ADW Launcher(The launcher I chose). Now it stays on the original Nook screen and randomly opens up different books on its own and flips pages on its own. Also, the option to open up ADW is gone. if I hit the N button it just opens up whatever book I was reading last. I turned the device and back on but it acts the same way. Can anyone help me?
I'm not sure what you mean by 'dual booted'. With CM7?
Similar behavior to what you describe (things opening randomly, pages flipping, etc.) usually happens when the battery is very low. I've also seen it happen trying to use USB power adapters that don't really work correctly for the NT. Make sure you're not operating on a very low charge or other power issue.
I used Indirect's Root. I was able to keep the original Nook look as well as boot into another launcher. It was working fine until yesterday. Now the Home button doesn't do what it should but the main thing is that the screen types and writes all on its own. I heard about the low power setting issues with some people. My Nook was at 60% so I don't know if that's considered low enough to be under that umbrella

I can't help you with your problem, but I want to make things clear.
You don't have dual boot or anything like that, you just installed alternative launcher application.
In general you have the same stock firmware you had before rooting with addition of a few apps, allowing you to do more, than B&N wants you to be able to do.

This is correct.
Disclaimer: I am a noob. Please take the following suggestions with a grain of salt.
Perhaps, clearing the homecatcher defaults will clear things up?
Alternatively, you could try installing a different launcher, such as golauncher, and see if it behaves as strangely as your current configuration.

Well I would just install another launcher but the problem is that I can't access the other launcher any longer. The Home button doesn't work like its supposed to but instead opens up the Nook's Book Library. The whole thing just started acting weird and randomly the keyboard would pop up and write by itself in addition to opening and closes the book Library. Its been acting like it has a virus. I factory reset it but unfortunately it didnt help. So I figure my screen is faulty

I got the same few hours after I rooted but using go launcher, just clean your screan very very clean if you haven't put a screen protector on it, then make sure its charged. Now try to open anything in that you could find a link click on it so it opens the browser then go to the android.market.com and download another launcher. After that I took my tablet and removed all the B&N crap apps, ijust left the games. Don't forget to apply the OTA block again.
Advice: remove home catcher.
PS: you could also use adb to push a new launcher but as you factory reseted usb debugging must be disabled, you need can enable it again by downloading tgps_launcher.apk from indirects root thread using the Nook browser.

what should I use to wipe it down. Im thinking I wiped it down pretty good but its still doing it. I noticed the z, e, and s buttons on the keyboard get pressed a lot so maybe its in the lower right region of my device.

Have you tried going in to manage apps and deselect the default for ADW, B&N's Home Launcher and Homecatcher if your using it? I use button savior so I have software buttons rather than the n button. by deselecting the default launcher you should get a window again asking which launcher do you want to use as home.

[Q] Problem Creating Shortcuts on Go Launcher Home Page

I have a rooted Nook Tablet with Go Launcher and have a problem creating shortcuts. Using Go Launcher, if I press and hold the home screen and select "shortcut", it just does nothing. If I use the lower menu and do add-->shortcut, it also does nothing. If I use Anycut-->New Shortcut-->Direct Call, I get a popup saying "The application Any Cut (process com.android.anycut) has stopped unexpectedly. Please retry again.) I've checked the root permissions on anycut, and they seem fine.
I've been using the rooted Nook Tablet for three months now with no real issues. I don't know if this problem is recent, or has been that way for a long time. I hadn't tried doing a shortcut until today. I appreciate any advice someone might have that has an insight into this problem.
I had the same issue on rooted stock. There seems to be no shortcut selection apk on the stock rom; maybe it can be ripped from another device. I was going to try yanking it from my phone but don't have the patience.

Well at least someone else has experienced this. That's helpful. I read posts that indicated that people were able to use the shortcut feature of Go Launcher on a Nook Tablet, so I wonder if there's something related to my gapps installation, OTA block mod, or other tweaks I've made and have since forgotten. It's not a big deal, so I can easily await a stable CM9 release sometime in the future.

[Q] B&N home screen stuck

Ok so ive seen a few threads with this problem. My wife is on the nook tablet it updates and she selects B&N instead of go launcher. Ive seen to download the link tgps.apk but that link seems to be dead so i tried the nt hidden link. It tries to download for a long time and never finishs. Ive downloaded a browser thru the nook free browser and wondering if it the problem. Ive got the tgps file on the sd card from when i rooted it the first time, but im getting the message about not being able to open this type of file. So should i try another browser, or how do i get it to allow the use of the already downloaded file?
So the nook updated itself and you lost root and now can't get to your go launcher? If that's the case, you can check to see if go launcher is still installed by clicking on the 'N' button at the bottom and going to search, then search for go. If the app is still installed it should show up and you can run it. If you do not see the go launcher anymore I would suggest re-rooting it the same way you did the last time. Then make sure you have the homecatcher app installed so you can set your home button to the launcher you want.
go launcher updated i think sine i didnt see it. i know when go launcher on my phone updates the first time i i go to the main screen it ask me what i want to use. so im pretty sure its the same on the table. the n button doesnt bring the "old menus" like search up because its removed when it was rooted. i can still get to the tpgs.apk by another route but it wont run like the first post describes.
