Hi
My HD2 is original unmofidied one. Has stock ROM and I didn't install anything on it yet. I went to update the ROM version to 1.66 from the link posted on the first thread on this forum.
My phone is HD2 with these versions:
ROM 1.48.707.2 (71294) WWE
ROM date 11/09/09
Radio version 2.05.51.05_2
Protocol version 15.28.50.07U
Tried to run the file RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship
Program starts working, changes the display on my HD2 to the reb/blue/green HTC preboot screen and then displays the gauge. Going into about 2% of the process of updating the ROM I get the following error message:
ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID
This Update Utility cannot be used for your PDA Phone. Please check your Update Utility.
Why is that? I thought that ROM above is stock rom unmofidied and that should flash just fine without any tweakings at all on my HD2. I don't want to mess around with my HD2, just wanted to update the ROM.
hi
you must apply HSPL before upgrading your rom ,the subject have been treated in another topic .
every hd2 is cid locked... so you can only install rom that you download from htc website using your serial number.
however you can use
1. goldcard method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=572683 to flash any original rom regardless of language/region
2. use uspl , http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=606713
it flashes any ROM using the original SPL to your device (no warranty void)
3. use hspl http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
you can also return to your original spl if you need it for warranty , everything is explained in that threead
My phone is running on
OS VERSION:5.2.23569
MANILA VERSION:2.5
ROM VERSION:Cruzer 5th WWE
Radio Version:2.15.50.14
I've had enough of using the Cruzer 5th rom already and wish to update back to the normal Official HTC ROM. I've downloaded the RUU_Updates for both 1.66 and 3.14 and both have failed in updating the phone's ROM.
The problem is that once my cpu has detected the phone.
The phone will then reset and get's stuck on the screen which has a few colors.(The one we use to check our HD2's flash version like HSPL). Then the loader on the screen of my CPU will be stuck at 0%. And guess what...before you know it...the entire operation will cancel and it will say that its not able to update my ROM. What on earth? Please help me. I'm only not able to update back to the official rom software. Apart from that, the other cooked roms which have been made available for download from the other users can be used to update my rom.
I need help. Please help me. Thank You! i look forward to your solutions!!!
You can use other roms and if you look/use the search option your answeres are here somewhere
could be a stuck radio rom, there have been several examples where the radio prevents spl and radio (and hence stock roms) from flashing.
try your CORRECT stock rom from sd card flash, if that fails its either
1 - not actually your correct stock rom or
2 - you are flash stuck. no clue how you would solve that.

I had the same problem like u 2day. All I did was instaling SPL-3.03.HSPL
At first I had two options like SPL-3.03 or SPL-3.03.HSPL to instal, that first one was making the problem that you writing of, but after I instaled SPL-3.03.HSPL I can instal other roms.

I know you said you downloaded the two ROM's from the HTC website. I don't know if you have a TMOUS HD2 then I suggest downloading the official upstream ROM from the T-Mobile website it is the 3.14 ROM.
I think what has happen to you is you had a bad flash and if you flash the 1.66 ROM first then you changed your SPL and now you don't have the correct split to flash the flash the 3.14 ROM. I recomemd you download and use HSPL 4 to change your SPL to SPL 3.03.0000 then try to flash the update ROM. Or you could flash it via your SD card that should force the changing of your SPL with out you doin yourself. JUst my thoughts on the situation.
can somebody please help me, I have flashed 5 different ROM's to my vodafone HD2 and have encountered a varying degree of problems with each one. I would very much like somebody to tell me where I can get a Stock ROM not locked to any carrier so I can reflash my pretty usless fone or indeed to help direct me to a stable cooked ROM that would allow my fone to work again.
Thanks is advance.
P.s - my first post so please be gently, also the last 3 I have tried are Artemis ROM's with no sucessful outcomes.

there is no stock rom that is 6.5.x They are all 6.5
Not sure what you mean by stock rom not locked to a carrier, , do you mean a non branded rom (the ones marked HTC WWE, look HERE or in the various threads in the rom development section.) or do you mean you want to unlock your phone to use any network? in which case no amount of any kind of flashing will do that. Ask voda for a code, or buy one online.
Sounds to me like you need to return all the way to stock and start over. Get any of the voda roms from that link above (theyre marked vodaphone, you cant miss em, theres a 1,43 one, a 1.66 one ((if you're a brit)) or 1.72 if you have a european language voda.
Get that, and either
1 - remove hspl by running hspl.exe and choosing 1.66.0000
then
2 - run the downloaded rom.exe and flash over usb
or
1 - extract ruu_signed.nbh from the rom.exe you downloaded,(look it up if you dont know how) copy it to a formatted fat32 sd card smaller than 8gb, and rename it leoimg.nbh then start the phone into bootloader and it will ask you if you want to flash.
that way you are back to teh start, and you can apply hspl and start again.
(For people reading this thinking 'he didnt say do a task29',, its my understanding that using the official .exe to flash the rom does a task 29 anyway, and its been edited out of customruu.exe so it can be used to flash radios without wiping the rom,,,correct? yes no?)
I try 6 Rom but noone will work fine
Vodafone rom 1.72
I am not looking to unlock the fone, simply find a Rom that is 6.5.3 that is stable. I have just flashed back to voda 1.72 but that is 6.5, im fussy and don't like the start button at the top. I'm in scotland so need something that will work here ok on vodafone.
I was hoping to find a rom that had not been altered and as such an original (Stock) ROM.
your help is much appreciated.
There are no such stock roms for the HD2. If you want to flash a stable rom in the style you like (start button at the bottom) then you will need to HSPL (search the forum) your phone and I suggest you start with Dutty's rom. It's very stable and as close to stock as can be. You can always flash back to an original rom for warranty reasons if you need to.
tnx, trying one now. fingers crossed.
ok, just flashed one of duttys roms but now my phone will not boot, it turns on and stays at the htc splash screen. Wont turn off have to pull out the battery. If it will not boot how can I re-flash it? Any suggestions?
did you flash hspl? you will also need the newer radio 2.15.50_04
Quote from Dutty's first page:
Things to Know how about my ROMs:
* HSPL 1.66 Minimum required
* New Radio 2.15.50.04 can be flashed here:

* :HSPL 1.66 Minimun recommended
* :Radio 2.10 / 2.11 / 2.12 / 2.14 / 2.15 NEEDED for ROM
* :No Radio version is included in these releases:
* :Correct radio needed to enabled 576 ram for NON-T-Mous HD2 users.

I hope you did some reading before you flashed!!
Put your phone into bootloader by holding the vol down side key and use a pen to push the little reset button when the back cover is removed. You should get a tri colour screen which shows you the hspl version you have. If you do this you can flash the correct radio which is probably why the phone will not boot.
all I have done previously is downloaded .nbh files and used SSPL_RUU.exe to flash and they have all flashed sucessfully, but with the after effects of either connection problems or freezing issues.
I have managed to re-flash to the vodafone 1.72 software so at least it is working again, this is not by any means where my talents lie. im a hardware guy, not software, so finding this all a bit confusing. I may just go with the artemis v33 rom which seemed to work the best apart from occassion signal dropouts.
Just out of curiosity - which hspl and radio are you using?
in the settings it says radio 2.07.51.22-2 and i believe the hspl was 1.42
just checked bootloader, spl 1.66

If you are sure it's SPL, than your problems are normal sir. To be able to flash custom ROM you need HSPL ex (1.66 HSPL)
is there another way to check other than in bootloader?

Hi Guys
Well the problem i have is that i want to install a official ROM from the HTC website, and i cant, Every time i go to update it, it just stops at 0%.
All i want to do is update the ROM with a official ROM and restore all the spl along with everything else.
I think it doesn't work because i did something to get android to work which i never got working. and few weeks ago i did something to change the spl to 2.08 from 1.42,
and also i have the original official UK t- mobile ROM that came on the device when new. Which i would like to flash and then update it with newer one.
Any help would be appreciated............
Thanks again.
On tri colour screen it says
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.0000 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x30
And on boot in bottom left corner says
R 2. 02. 50.22...2
G 15.26.50.07u
D 1.43.70315
Firstly, this section is for t mobile USA phones, you have a normal hd2, t mo us (tmous) is a very different beast, and you will get much better and faster help in the normal hd2 section.
Secondly, you can't just use any old stock rom to restore default, it has to be a t mo UK rom.
Thirdly, that spl is not for regular hd2s, it will work, but (and I say this with limited evidence) may cause issues when trying to flash a 1.x version rom.... namely it doesn't like to downgrade the spl. (My own recent experience possibly coincidence, possibly not..... last week I tried flashing o2 1.72 rom with aim of removing magldr and resetting everything. Imagine my horror when it rom update failed on me.... I manually changed 2.08.hspl to 1.42.0000 with hspl2, and then the 1.72 rom flashed no problem.)
1 enter bootloader,
2 connect USB
3 hspl2, choose 1.42.0000 or 1.66.0000
4 from HTC.com, choose region UK, support, downloads, updates, find a rom that says its for t mobile, the same section will have roms for o2, orange, wwe (for examples), this doesn't mean T-Mobile.com, you wont find compatible roms there. So long as you use YOUR serial number, the HTC site will only let you download compatible roms, so if it says no to the t mo rom then it means your phone is unbranded and you should go for the default wwe rom instead.
Flash that, usb is fine, job done.
Thanks
Thank You very much its all working now.
Thank you again
hi
My friend has an HD2 with Nand Android on it and he wants to flash back to windows mobile
So here are my questions:
Should I perform a task7(If I remember correctly,task 7 wipes away everything on the phone,right?) ?
what is the most stable official winmoblie rom for it?and what HSPL and Radio versions does it want and where can I download it?
If I just install that official rom (with the RUU it gives me),Won't it do all the things I want?(like flash the required hspl and radio and wipe away all android related things? If not how should I remove android ?
thanks in advance
First thing to do is determine if a TMOUS (red/green end & call keys) HD2 or standard EU HD2 (all buttons are white icon) as flashing wrong ROMs to TMOUS version results in a bricked device.
You probably best going for latest WWE version if standard HD2 & if TMOUS version go to HD2 wiki as have link for TMOUS ROMs
You can dump the nbh file from within the exe direct to sd card for flashing but not the best option really as likely to run into CID issues as HSPL will be removed when flash via SD method & could cause more problems than it worth.
I would do via PC & usb cable & install best match HSPL for ROM you choose then install ROM via exe & RUU flasher. The radio will also be flashed with what packaged with ROM you have chosen.
Once flashed I always recommend doing hard reset to make sure all is loaded correctly from newly flashed ROM & reduce likely first flash/setup glitches.
If after super stable bug free WM6.5 I would also consider looking at custom ROMs from NRG & the standard looking but much improved CleanEX Standard V1.02
