Just saw todays is Missile Defender. Took me back to my first pc... Had a 20 meg hard drive... spent more than a grand... Windows 3.1...
Anyhow... this version, with touch, is a smidge cooler. Not sure if I will play it for long... but for free... hard to beat. =)
The one I had on the PC, played this "Uh Oh. Game over" wave that used to crack me up.
Thanks for the heads up. I remember spending many hours playing the then state of the art Missile Defender.
Nice find

Found free game on market called Drag Racing. This game the best game I have found free or paid. It is completely addictive! As an added bonus it is far cheaper than drag racing my own car and almost as fun. Danger is half the fun of racing.
gotta check it out, thanks
is there more to it? Seems like I was just holding down the gas and shift at red line.... I didn't see how to improve, or why I would downshift... am I missing something? Hold a button down?
^ thats basically it.
I'm addicted too some how.. lol.
I played for 10 minutes but I couldn't see me playing any further. It loads really fast though! Definitely a time killer, but not for me. I remember a game like this on NewGrounds back in the day. Lol

I just downloaded the new Dead Space. It is a little pricey at $7, but it's well worth it. It runs super smooth on the Rez, and the controls are super easy to use. The graphics are insane. Probably the best I've seen from any game on a phone. Definitely worth checking out.
Eh, the graphics are great except for the enemies. Those are just terrible. It's like late PS2 graphics around you and early N64 enemies. Bleh. Shadowgun looks great on it too.

I'll agree. The enemies could be a little better. But overall I think the graphics look pretty good. I'll have to try out Shadowgun. I've heard some good things about that one.
Looks good and runs great. Shame GTA doesn't run as smooth, but I'm sure that'll change once they update the app more.
This game causes my battery to overheat after about 45 minutes of play. Does anyone else have this problem?

The longest I've played this game is about 30 minutes maybe, and I didn't notice any issues. I would think that having your phone run anything this intensive for 45 minutes straight would cause your battery to heat up. How bad are we talking here?
Over 130 one time.

I played this game today for about an hour. It was at 133 when I finished. I really don't think it's that big of a deal since it was back to about 80 within an hour. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it stays up at that temp for a long period of time. The battery is working overtime for this game and keeping the screen on for that long.
I downloaded this game the other day and have been very frustrated ever since! I'm having trouble getting the character to move. He only takes a couple steps at a time and sometimes he won't move at all. It's like he's stuck by something but there's nothing in front of him?
ya i agree some dual core optimazation would be nice
Just in case you have been waiting for it.

Already got it. Great game but controlls are a bit laggy like when you press left of screen to move, the analog doesn't appear or respond for nearly a second. With bullets flying at your head.....a second is a long time lol
Real Racing is on play Store at 80% of discount. Has anyone bought it? does it work fine?
I downloaded it. It occasionally crashes. Pretty good game aside from that.

Argh, I was going to buy it right now and the offer has ended
I haven't played it on the tf300 yet but I'm rinsing the balls out of it on the One X. It's quite simply the finest racing game I've played on any portable platform. It looks amazing, handles beautifully, great choice of cars and the tracks are good fun. My only criticism, other than the waiting for a download the past 4 months while EA get a server that works, is that the races are way too easy. There really isn't much of a challenge from the AI and whilst a 1:49 lap time puts you 16th on the grid in qualifying, it's still enough to see you win the 3 lap race with a 30 or 40 second lead. But who cares, it's feckin epic!! Haven't had this much fun with cars since Gran Turismo

So I was thinking about getting this, but not ready for an upgrade and its pricey to buy even a used one. I was thinking though of replacing my phone and tablet with it as its kinda an in between. Anyone done this or would recommend or not recommend?
Ymmv but I sold my galaxy nexus and nexus 7 and bought the note 2. I like it much better. No data to sync between the 2. I get nearly as much battery as the tablet and it fits in my pocket. My nexus 7 was wifi only so now I have data all the time as well.
I decided to keep the nexus 7 for a few days after to make sure bud I sold it like 3 days after I got my phone.
Its all personal preference though

If I flew a lot I'd rather have a Nexus 7 on hand, but otherwise I like having the Note 2 in my pocket wherever I go. This is something where you'll have to figure out how often you use it and how annoying you think it is to carry it around etc.
Yeah, same here. Exchanged the DNA, and gave my Nexus 7 to my son soon after buying the Note 2. I still have it available, but haven't picked it up for any other reason except to charge it.

and what about the phone portion? I mean all the reviews say its weird and awkward but do you feel like a wackjob using it as a phone?
I guess it depends on what size tablet your thinking of eliminating.
I love my note 2 but it is definitely not going to replace my 10" tablet anytime soon.
The people who say it looks funny holding it are jealous I havent even touched my Asus tf300 since I got this phone. It is my sons now.

This.
I came from a One X and find my self reaching for my Note 10.1 less but the extra screen real estate between 5" and 10" makes a huge difference for consumption and creation. But I also feel a 7" tablet's too small so it's all a YMMV.
Ya im coming from a xperia tablet

I admit it looks a bit silly holding it to your head to talk (at least now. in a few years phones around this size will probably be common). I don't care at all, but it might bother some. In this case, get a cheap bluetooth headset. I had something like this a while back and it's light, comfortable, and when you get calls, you flip it open and it automatically answers them for you to start talking.

Yup, mine was one of the originals of this design too. Paid $100 for it, within a week when I took my keys out of my pocket, it fell out without me noticing and I ran over it with my car. Good times.
This phone is definitely big, but not suitable to replace a tablet. I much prefer my Tab 2 10.1 as touchwiz on a tablet is more friendly. But maybe its the s pen integration on this phone that complecates things.

I have a galaxy tab 7.7.... When I got my verizon note I was able to get the wall street journal app (for tablets) running on and I pulled the sdcard from the galaxy 7.7 and I forgot to plug it into the wall while I played with my note and the battery died The irony is when I went to check my tablet to turn it off is was already off, opps. I plugged the tablet back into the wall but I have yet to turn it back on. I've only had the phone for 4 days and I'm trying to figure out to keep or let go of my tablet.. Everything I did with my tablet videos/books the note handles with ease. It depends on the user really and what you use the tablet for. In retrospect, the galaxy 7.7 only has a 5100mah battery. When mugen announced the 6400mah extended battery and I was sold.
