I Did, currently google apps flash-able package is available for CM7 ROMs but cant find for froyo.
And another point is, i corrupted my market app.. cant download any app now
I think Google talk is also not available in the android market.
why i posted:
ROM developers may have it that's why i posted maybe someone can provide one.
otherwise i will extract apk from ROM and try to create update zip. might be useful for others too
GApps packages are only for CM Rom's (And AOSP ones), since, those ROMs by themselves do not have any Google copyrighted stuff.
Sense based ROMs do not need GApps packages because most of them include it by default. Or, even if they do not include the apps package, they include atleast the Market app,
Seeing that, as you have put, your best bet would be to extract the APK and create the Update Zip yourself.
Looks like there is more than corrupt application in my case. I have created and flashed update even individually installed apks and services over existing ROM but getting FC on launching the application. Setup Wizard doesn't seems to work anymore and getting FC in loops.
Some unknown system components or services also seems to be affected. I think I would need to go back and restore nandroid or reflash the ROM
time to flash a New ROM for primary use. and keeping nandroid backups for test purpose. as a Primary ROM I will prefer CM 7.0.3, Wildpuzzel freezes sometimes during a call. i have used cm7 before but for test purpose. So i till go for CM7 and look for solution to connect ad-hoc wifi
why not just reflash your rom and make a backup of any data you want before hand
I have posted this is 2 threads before.
I have been having problems with the stock calnder NOT syncing with google calander; I've tried many tricks to eliviate this problem; that I have read on here and other forums.
I have so far;
1) cleared the calander storage
2) tried work arounds via yahoo calander etc
3) factory rest to use an alternative google account
**checked all sync settings throuhgout
STILL DIDN'T WORK.. I even check my google account for issues.
Then;
I saw a video describing Titantium backup pro, the guy in the video describes getting 'force to close errors', by uninstalling and then applying a reset from backup for that particular app.
So with that in mind, as my calander and it's sync don;t work, I started to unistalled the stock calander starting with 'calander storage' as it was 1st in the list.. only now to realise I don;t have the coresponding files to instal, and from the discussions previously on calander problems the external links don't seem to be working where I can find what I need, re: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=796102.
Can anyone PLEASE help? or advise me acordingly, I am at a lost literally, and ned a calander that works and will sync with google calander.
I was considering using maybe a custom ROM, but would this really work? I maybe cyanogenmod.
PLEASE HELP

oh yeah, I'm on XWKI8 2.3.5 if that helps
if i use kies to do a firmware update whilst rooted will this give me back calendar?
will i still be rooted and have no additional problems?
i flashed a insecure kernel then rooted finishing with a secure kernel. I now have CalendarProvider.apk with the odex file but no Calendar.apk or odex.
I read i can take the Calendar.apk & CalendarProvider.apk from CM7 zip file and place onto SD card to instal. My question is this; do i still need to locate the associated odex files? or are these de-odex'd already?

Hello,
i want to install stock accuweather widget to pure ICS Rom. But when I use AccuWeatherDeamonService.apk and confirm instal, it says that: Application insn´t install. So how can I get this?
Thanks very much and sorry for english.
I would assume that since it's a system application, it has to be placed inside the system folder. Search the forums for a guide on how to install system applications. I'm sure there is a way to do it.
Same problem from system folder. I´ll try to find another way how to do that. Thanks
Hi all,
I'd like to change the contacts application I have in my ICS Rom with another one modded apk, I've tried with Root Explorer (replacing, changing permissions), with Titanium Backup (removing contacts and trying to install this apk), and replacing the contacts.apk in the system/app folder in the Rom flashable zip, but nothing was worth it. All i get is an error message that the application couldn't be opened.
What should I do to get it work? There's any particular procedure to overwrite a "default" application that come with the rom with another one?
How do I create a flashable zip to install it from CWM? Is it just enaugh to have the *.apk or I have to compile it in another way?
PS: I've also tried simply installing the new contacts.apk but it says "application not installed"
Thanks to everyone!
I could be mistaken/misunderstanding (but I researched when I wanted to replace battery icon) - but I think you would have to make sure you were on a de-odexed ROM..
Although when I tried to replace the camera.apk with the modified Gingerbread one on here, I got the same issue - so make sure the contacts apk you are trying to replace it with is for ICS also!
Yeah, I explain, I'm trying to import the contact.apk that came with the Foxhound ICS rom in my Resurrection ICS rom.
Both of them are ICS based

Yeah, but FoxHound is stock based, and Resurrection Remix is AOKP based. I don't think that will work.
You're right, I thought that too, but the contacts app is the stock one on the Resurrection, even if it's based on AOKP. So, in theory, the substitution should be possible..
If you have a custom rom just open the rom with winrar and delete what you want and add to replace then close winrar and flash .

Theory doesn't always work in practice.
@ctomgee: ahahahah I know that
@JJEgan: I've already tried that, but even when I flash the Resurrection (with new contacs in the flashable zip file) I got an error when opening contacts, furthermore android.acore process die after tot seconds..

In that case its a non compatible apk for your firmware .

I have installed LaytVeyit De-Blur v5 Pre-Release on my phone, is an awesome rom, very smoot and i love it, but.... i need some help.
PROBLEM:
- I want to install Google Talk (Talk.apk) in it. Because this rom does not have it.
WHAT I HAVE ALREADY TRIED: (AND FAILED)
- Searching for GTalk and LaytVeyit in the same sentence around or LaytVeyit and Gapps with no results.
- CLicking the apk to install it.
- Copying manually the talk .so to /system/lib and the apk to /system/app and setting the following permissions: rw- r-- r--
OTHER STUFF THAT MIGHT BE IMPORTANT
- CWM is installed
- Rom is giving no other problems whatsoever
- Google Play is working as expected
Is it possible to install GTalk on this ROM and if it is... HOW???
Sorry if my english is not up to acceptable standards...
Whether you can help me or not thank you anyway....
Stil have the problem....
Anyone? i don't want to replace this rom
Try Gingerbread GAPPS
You can take a backup from recovery and try installing GAPPS for GingerBread from rootzwiki
Solution
Thanks to kapilchawla because even if that is not exactly the solution is at least 70% of it.
The truth is that flashing or pushing the Gtalk app by itself by any of the means mentioned above and even by others i tried later wont be effective. The app will force close.
In order to make it work you should flash the whole GB gapps pack, unfortunately you will have to wipe everything before doing that, in order to avoid some weird behavior afterwards.
So here is the solution step by step if you want LeytVeyit with Gtalk
1- Install LeytVeyit from this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1791167
2- Flash gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1790681
3- The market will dissapear. DONT INSTALL IT OR FLASH IT, it is already there just invisible.
4- Set your google account through the GTalk app. Market app will return as soon as you do that.
5- This Gtalk does not have video chat or audio chat, lets fix that: Download the improved gtalk app from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056793 (NOW IT WILL WORK!!!!)
6- Follow the instructions there EXCEPT FOR ONE. DO NOT COPY THE SO FILE ON THE /system/lib folder. It will work without it.
Hope this is helpful to somebody and many thanks to every post that was a pice of this puzzle.
