Pardon my English first, second, I have several problems with my Galaxy ace. I go for parts, we install the rom CyanogenMod 7.2-cooper-KANG-RC0-Android 2.3.7, the first fault occurred to me was the wifi not detected me, and applications that I got off the Market did not the facilities or nowhere to be found even told me that if he thought he could be in the firmware and change it and put this S5830XXKPP # # COOPER.OPS CSC - S5830SERKPP, seeing that I still gave the same ruling to put him this S5830XWKS9 probe # # COOPER.OPS CSC - S5830XENKS1, but ODIN gave me the following error ... port not detect mobile screen and would not start, I had to put the same ROM for me to start, thought it was bricked. The following error now esque Samsung Kies did not detect the phone, but says the drivers are installed correctly, I tested with another and if you catch but not mine, and when I do the same process of changing the firmware'm the same remains in the home screen.
My questions are, I can put another ROM having this?, I can try to change the firmware but I did not detect KIES because I have the drivers installed?. And most important, I may be bricking the phone if you kept trying to change the firmware.
Thanks and sorry for my English
Pues nada, parece complicado lo que pido.
Un saludo y gracias
common problem of odin not detecting port properly is because kies is still running.
even if u close it, its still running in background.
kies kill process first from windows task manager and u'll be able to use odin properly.
an0nym0us thanks. I will try what you tell me (sorry for my English googleiano). Entoces close the Kies from the task manager open and test him again. The case that if it detects another Galaxy ace to the first, but not mine. You may be missing some internal driver to my phone?.
Thank you for answering and a greeting
nothing in the task manager did not appear. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, but still gives me the same error.
As the computer tells me I have the drivers installed correctly, I guess here KIES (the program itself) would have nothing to do when installing the firmware but when I give odin install it (the star button) does not start and I gives the error, even so I leave him, but time passes and does nothing. When I change the rom, which is what I have now, try changing the stock rom without first opening the kies to recognize me, I guess that will not have anything to do because the drivers were already installed before, then I the stock exchange and that was when I got the error without checking that I had recognized Kies phone. It may be why is giving me the error, which I downloaded the rom lacks any internal installer? I change the rom on the other and test?.
A greeting and thanks
what rom u are now?
if u currently on any cyanogen rom or custom rom based on cyanogen, kies wouldnt detect it. kies only works on stock samsung's rom or custom rom based on stock.
but if u want to flash stock rom using odin, kies is still be needed for drivers.
u cannot uninstall it. just make sure it doesnt run in backround when u want to use odin.
btw if u still had problem using odin eg its still not detecting port properly, try
1- make sure kies is not running in backround. kill its process from windows task manager.
2- odin must be run with administrative right. some people said that right click "run as administrator" wouldnt work. so u need to use account with administrative rights, and u also need to disable completely windows uac control if u on vista or 7.
I am now using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1360889
CyanogenMod 7.2-cooper-KANG-RC0-Android 2.3.7
What happens in task management esque I Kies appears.
ughh i cannot give screenshot of what kies process is named in task manager because i'm on linux.
just kill anything that have "kies" name in it from task manager.
its in "Processes" tab, not in "Applications" tab.
Thanks an0nym0us, but nothing, not doing what I say get it. May try to change the rom and if I have proof that he has luck.
Thanks again

Dear mighty community,
I recently successfully flashed with ODIN (the unsecure Kernel XWKDD) my S2. Everything passed and my phone rebooted.
Upon starting SuperonClick apparently just at the end of rooting the program starts to freeze. "Step 6" couldn't be finalized.
So, of course I had to force close Superoneclick.
Tried to connect with Kies. Nothing. Updated Kies and the "try to look for connection" solution didn't help either. Restarted phone and computer. Still nothing.
Installed Kies on another computer, latest version. My phone still won't be recognized. " solution looking" didn't work.
Tried my luck with superoneclick eventhough no Kies. Program freezes at Connecting to phone now, doesn't even get to "step 6".
Little bummed out of how to finalize root or even reset phone with original software without KIES recognition.
Please, mighty community, help me
kies has been having a few problems from what i have heard..as many have the same questions as you try searching first before you open a thread..anyway a thread similar to yours that dont recognize handsets or firmware is here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285544
dont know if it helps but shows that your not the only one whos having problems with kies..
By the way what was your original firmware?? Cause before it happened to me when i tried rooting and never had it recognised by kies...so i tried to find the kernel that matched the closest to mine and it was recognised and updated the firmware....
But il be honest i dont use Kies anymore and its not useful for me at all...but whats your original firmware and i will help you try to match the one you should flash through odin again
I played a little bit with turning usb debugging on and off several times. I turned USB dubugging off and KIES recognized my phone. Started Superoneclick couldn't get passed the "awaiting connection to phone". Forceclosed superonclick. Closed KIES, turned debugging on, started superoneclick and it got up unitl the point on the picture. Then freeze!
With great foresight I didn't wrote down the kernel version
I only have general information which, I guess, won't help anything:
The buildnumber is:
GINGERBREAD.XWK4
And the kernel version I installied is: [email protected] #2
Right i dont know if this will work but give it a try..i will give you two links..one is for rom and one is for your kernel...
http://www.multiupload.com/LH122I67IU
thats for your kernel stock
http://hotfile.com/dl/116887059/f45e1a7/9100XWKDD_I9100XXKDH_I9100XEUKD1.zip.html
thats for stock rom.
that will unroot you and get you back to stock again...once you done that and you flashed back to stock then try and see what kies says to you...and if your going to root please for the love of god dont connect to kies cause it will not recognise your firmware..but i think you can backup data and transfer your music and stuff
give me a message if you want more help
and follow the guide in the link below

Three main problem I encounter is an interrupted rooting process. I am able to flash successfully the rom with odin but unable to complete root with superoneclick. It always stops at step 6 no matter what I try. Other machines, rebooting, start with admin rights. simply nothing.
Usb debugging off made kies recognize the phone but still unable to complete root.
I know, I started a thread with different problem and am now facing a new and different one. But I really owe you a lot for the time you put into helping me to figure out my priblem

Hi everyone,
I brought a new galaxy s2 phone about 4 weeks ago and it has spent most of that time soft bricked since I tried to update it to the newest firmware, K14....
I am using windows 7 starter, 32bit. I have installed kies, uninstalled and re-installed kies, tried uninstalling kies and just using the drivers.
Recently I did a clean install of windows, installed kies, as more drivers seem to be recognized and downloaded odin v1.85. I restart the computer, start task manager end all processes that say kies, run odin as a administrator, put the tar file in pda, only auto reboot is selected. I then plug in the phone, in download mode, wait for yellow box and press start and the process only goes as far as boot.bin.
I have tried all of my usb ports and the only difference is the number of the modem installed driver and how far along odin gets. With two ports it only goes as far as setup connection which was as far as anything went before I re-installed windows. I have replaced the usb cable and made sure the phone battery is fully charged. The phone was put into usb debugging mode before it was bricked. I have attached a picture of what drivers get installed when I plug in the phone. The firmware I am attempting to flash is the uk 3 version off the firmware page of this website.
Please can somebody give me the solution it is driving me nuts!
Sorry for waffling but I figure you need to know what I've tried so that I don't waste anybodies time.
Thanks guys
Did you try a different stock rom? Did you try a different pc? Or if you want to, flash a CF-root kernel. Then boot in recovery and flash a rom of your choice.
The flashcounter will start and stock roms can't be flashed this way (at least as far as I know).
Is your phone a I9100 model?
I ask this to make sure you are trying to flash the correct firmware for your device.

Possibility one bad firmware file or wrong file ,
Or not using Samsung USB cable .

Hi Lenny,
Yh, i have tried it on my desktop which runs 7 home premium. Clean install with same results. Tried the K14 firmware a few times but that never got any further than setup connection. Don't understand the rest of your post sorry. Can you do a flash for dummies thing? And is there a firmware you would recommend trying?
@ aceofclubs -the box says i9100 and so does the sticker in the back.
@ JJEgan - the first cable I used was the one in the box and while the one I have replaced by ebay, they had good feedback. The K14 firmware was given to be by a user of the galaxy s2 that he had successfully flashed with.
Does the phone look to have installed correctly, the guy who gave me the firmware said he had abd appear in device manager, which I haven't got. Also after the phone is finished installing drivers if I click in the system tray, the green icon that shows devices that are present is not there and neither is the phone but if I go into device manager samsung composite device is.

No you dont need a ADB neccesarily for flashing. ADB (Android Debug Bridge) is a tool that comes with the Android SDK that allows you to control and interface with your Android device. Well do u have the phone specifications before bricking it, like Model No, Built, CSC, Kernal Etc.
First try to uninstall Kies and Install the latest version, so that you have the latest drivers.
Check the Intratech thread on Stock ROM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278) and download the correct rom.( I presume you have I9100 Intenational Version of S2). Open Odin 1.85, do not change any options, brownse and put the stock rom u downloaded into the PDA section and click on start button, you should be good.PM me if you have any issues.
The above didn't work. Here's what I got:

AS you have the yellow box in Odin you have the drivers all the firmware in that link works .
run odin as a administrator, put the tar file in pda, only auto reboot is selected. I then plug in the phone, in download mode, wait for yellow box and press start
Lets do this the right way just to be sure . Open Odin put the tar file in PDA
go to download mode at first screen download mode on phone follow instruction ( vol up from memory ) after next screen connect Samsung USB cable to phone and PC .

Thanks, think I've done that anyway but, just to check, what do you mean by next screen?
The screen when you are in download mode and press volume up.
Yh that is what I'm doing, thanks tho. Can someone please give me a reliable link to an older version of Odin to try? At the mo I am using v1.85, this the latest version?

So close! I plugged the phone in and got as far as cache with the green progress bar showing just the tiniest bit. Left it for over an hour but the bar didn't move at all! Encouraged I restarted the computer to try again only to find that now the computer and odin won't recognize the phone until I uninstall and reinstall kies and always hangs on cache. I restarted in the first place as the phone never shows in the system tray. Sorry to be a bore but have you any idea why everyone else can plug in and flash and my machines refuse to! I welcome any ideas you have. Thank you.
Instead of Odin, you could try Heimdall. Maybe that will work for you.

hey hope everyone had a good christmas and new year. Still no joy, where do I get PIT files to flash with the newest version of heimdall to go with our firmware? The newest version won't let me add files until I enter a PIT. I tried version 1.1 but I couldn't get it to recognise a compatible device.
On the odin front: I thought I'd cracked it. It started flashing, took hours but I had half a green progress bar and then it just seem to freeze. Also this seems replicable a few times and then I get stuck at setup connection again. I then have to do a system restore to get it to flash to the furthest point again. Does this give anyone any clues? Or does anyone know of any heimdell packages I could try? And the long shot, any way of getting firmware on to an sd card and flashing that way when a phone is soft bricked?
Sorry if I'm annoying you but there has to a way round this. I brought a rooted one to use while this is sorted, love the phone but need to know I can update and be able to sort it out if things go wrong.
Thanks again for your help and suggestions.
Call me stupid or what but I used Kies to change the firmware and it got as far as 27% and it just hung for over an hour. I have now got " Firmware encounted an issue, Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again. " . It down loads something , gets to 100% then it closes down and the Kies main program doesn't respond in windows. I had Triangle away using the delay method, I know I should have uninstalled but I thought Keis would have cleared before the update.
Iam on GT I9300BVBLH2 TMUBLH2 BVLH1 stock rom, Flash counter 0 and normal status.
I have a USB rig on the way.
Thanks.

Try to get in downloadmode with the jig ( turn the phone off first) and flash the stock rom manualy with Odin. That should do it. First end all Kies tasks before flashing with Odin in task and tray manager.

Hello,
well 2 days ago I installed Chainfire3D , After installing the Chainfire3D's drivers my phone closed then my phone wa s freezing after the logo with a blackscreen, I could only see some light in the night , so after watching some tutorials now it's the freezing logo problem,
and I was trying to install a new rom but I need Odin for that I tried all versions of Odin but my phone does not connect to my pc/Odin
Also tried it on other computers , Samsung Drivers are all installed also Samsung KIES , Is there a solution before I have to pay for it to repair?
(my phone is rooted) & installed Android 4.2.2
(also did everything with the chache, fqctory,& tried a lot..)
Please help, Thanks mertonixx(sorry for my bad engilish)
just to get sure: you mentioned that you have kies installed. Before connecting to odin have you killed kies and all its processes in taskmanager, because they cannot work at the same time (and as I know kies starts automatically at boot)?
and you are in download mode? (you did not mention that so i have to ask )

Yes... You can flash any rom you want... all of them will work just fine...
Hi guys,
I read all the tutorials about rooting this model and still, none works for me.
I attached a picture of the exact model of phone.
It's not my forst time using Odin so, i know how to set up the drivers, odin, etc..
It just not working...what I'm I doing wrong?
Which tool are you using? Try with auto chainfire it works. you will have to flash it with odin (in download mode)
I'm using Odin (latest vers) with proprer .tar file, in download mode.
All drivers installed, everything works fine, Odin the same...when i start the process...FAIL! (cannont write nand memory).
some links will be helpful..
LE: it seems the problem is with the drivers. In download mode it says Unknown device.
I installed the correct drivers, unistall and install again, install Kies...still Unknown device in download mode.
help?
Open kies > click tools > Reinstall device software. if this does not work then maybe you can try using a different computer? just to diagnose if the problem is with the rooting procedure or the Drivers, or the cable ....

are you close Kies before strating with odin?
Try with a diff computer n yes u need to close kies before using odin also make sure ur doing the right steps to put ur phone in download mode
Also please watch HOW TO USE ODIN videos from youtube. there is an indicator in odin which has to turn "GREEN" in order for flashing to take place.
isn't green, it's blue...if you mean the connection port...
yup is blue,if nothing help than flash older firmwere NI3 or NK & than make a root
