I was wondering if i can enable camera LED light when i am recording video. Is there some way to do it? Help, i need it!
You never mentioned what phone you have or anything? On the GSII this is possible.
Ah sorry i forgot. I had SGA(samsng galaxy ace) with CM 7.1(RC2.2), so is it posibble somehow to activate some flashlight app and then to go to video and recording with LED on? thx in advice
install a torch app, turn it on first

That won't work, as it is not possible in most cases for two applications to use the camera at the same time.

It's too easy to do this!! Just download lgCamera and tapping on flash button while in video mode you can easily turn your flash on like a torch!
What arturo said, or try mapping the action as a hold on a physical button.

Ha ha it is that easy. ThankĀ“s bro.
You can also use vignette camera app. In the advanced option you do have a setting option that will enable your hardware led while filming. I guess the easier method is stated above ^^

Why is SGA front camera not working?
Can someone tell me??
Uhh... because the SGA doesn't have a front camera...
The "lenses" beside the front speaker are proximity sensors, not cameras.
You didn't read the phone manual, did you?
its a light sensor I think :/? when you talk in a call and it sense black and locks screen to save battey

BTW,
Is there any way we could take normal 3g calls with back camera.
(I'm not talking about skype. just routine 3g video calls via network.)
In order to use the front camera u must press and home button + volume down when calling someone for exactly 2.67 seconds then release. Press volume up button twice. Voila! You got urself front camera working.

I found this thread in the main Android section. It seems like an excellent camera app

I found something weird. While using the lgcamera,if i touch the camera/recorder button mode (right-topsite), i hear a click sound and a vibration near the camera lens at the back. I think the sound does not come from the speaker, but from the camera lens, can anyone confirm?

on my Arc S nothing like this. maybe some of the options about vibration and stuff like this are enabled?
weird, anyway
recording video is better than stock app, but not so good taking pictures
I took some pics. But I found the stock cam is much better. Pics token with LG are not sharp and there is "a little fog" at the picture. You understand what I mean? ;-) App deleted!

Yes, I am also experiencing this abnormal clicking noise.
Hey all, does anyone know what I have to edit to get the camera to always add GPS tags to the pictures I take?
I set the option in camera settings, but when I exit and reopen the camera, the option is ticked off. How can I make I persistent?
I'm using Dragon ICS 3.1 with CWM touch recovery.

Is there a third party camera app that can keep the GPS tag setting active and retain the speed of the stock camera app?
Sent from my SGS3
have you ensured you have your GPS on....but it really should prompt you if it isn't! If not then big Samsung fail!
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Yes the GPS is enabled when I open the camera app, but the option to add the tag is always off, every time. I just installed Camera Zoom which has a persistent option.

GPS tag always on
I agree stock app seems to be much better and always forget and sometimes have no time to switch on GPS tagging. Even Tasker doesn't help.
I'm coming from a Rezound running ViperRez and I used the heck out of this feature so I'd like to see it here if possible.
Thank you!

I started using an app called flashlight LED genius and there is an option that allows you to shake the phone while at the lock screen to enable the flashlight. Then to turn off you simply shake again, you can set sensitivity settings and duration in case it gets turned on accidentally. I have had no issues with it accidentally turning on as of yet. Works surprisingly well.
Wow thanks for that app. useful

That is a great app, thanks.
I still wish someone would built it into a rom or flashable add-on that would all you to long press or double-tap the home button from the lock screen to activate the camera.
Check out my tutorial on the Tmo section. Will work for you too. Use the volume up to turn on flashlight.

Doesn't work for me on Cleanrom 1.2 possibly because I'm using xposed framework.

You mean Nottach's mod? That most probably takes this function over. Now that's the trick is discovered, perhaps you can request he adds it to an update.

I actually own Nova Prime so I was excited to try this but alas it doesn't work. I'm on stock, rooted TW ROM with Nova Prime of course. No other mods, frameworks or kernels installed. Not sure why it doesn't want to work for me. Anyone else get it going?
No dice here either. Stock rooted deodexed.

Weird. Well if you guys are using Nottach's Xposed mod, he will build it in with his next update v10, and can map it to your home button.

Shake on lockscreen option works fine for a while, then stops. Problem is noted in the app description in the Play Store but no ETA on a fix is mentioned. Too bad, when it works it's nice.
Anyone know of another flashlight app that can be reliably activated from the lock screen?

Just found that Tiny Flashlight has shake capability on the lock screen. I'm testing and will report back on reliability.

I use the DashClock lockscreen widget with the DashLight extension, seems to work pretty good for me
Using an app called Torchie, just press both 'volume buttons' together to turn on/off torch anytime. It runs as a background service and just works anytime, even when screen off (if enabled from Torchie Settings). It kinda make your phone feel like a conventional battery operated torch. No root required.
