Camera volume buttons no longer zoom - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

So I know on my phone pressing the volume button while in the camera is supposed to make the camera zoom. However all of a sudden today while taking a picture I pressed the button to zoom and the picture was taken. I really liked the zoom being the volume buttons. Did I adjust a setting and not know it or what does anyone have an idea how I did this or how to change it back at least?
* FIGURED THIS OUT! DIDNT REALIZE THE LATEST ROM I FLASHED HAD THIS AS A FUNCTION, NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT LOL*

Do you have resolution set to 8mp? Haven't been stock in a while but doesn't the camera lose this ability after you hit max resolution?

Volume rocker for zoom function

I want to start by saying that I searched before I decided to post this question. With that said, is there a mod that would allow the volume rocker to be used for the zoom function with the stock camera? I find it really annoying to have a shutter button and still have to touch the screen to zoom. I had this function on my 3D and really miss it.

Anyone?

That would be killer! Hopefully a dev can cook something up...
+1 for this
This would be a useful mod, +1 to you for asking. I think I'll follow this thread just to see how this turns out

I had this when I had my 3D and my galaxy nexus. Very cool mod.

+1 for this option to. I truly miss having it. It seemed easier to zoom in and out more accurately than pinching and prodding the screen. Volume rocker to zoom in and zoom out camera lens for pics and video

Screen capture on ics?

Im using flapjaxx stock ics rom and for some reason i cannot do a screen capture? I had no problems on GB all i had to do was push power and home. Ive tried power + home, power + volume buttons, power + menu nothing works. Anyone else having any luck?
The karate chop method works fine for me. Take the blade of your hand and swipe left to right across the screen.
Others have had success swiping it across their forehead. Seriously.

Or use the s-pen method. Hold the button down on the pen and then touch the screen and continue for about 2 seconds until capture is successful.
I always use the s-pen to take a screen shot. I have YET to get the karate chop method down.

Just did swipe method or karate chop and that works wonders but home and power key still work on mine and my 2 friends notes.

Chop, home+power, s-pen all work on mine using flappjaxxx rom

Me, too. I've tested all the 3 ways to capture. And all the methods worked well. Oh, I had to hold power+home for a little bit longer time to process tho. I normally use s-pen to capture because I wub doodling my screenshots... -_-;;

[Q] Xperia S Camera Button Lag

Does ICS make the camera button on the S lag a little when trying to take a picture from the screen being off? It seemed a bit more responsive when I was on GB.
The camera button has 2 buttons the first one if you press softly is the Auto Focus And if you press it firmly it is to take a picture or record video.

I also have a massive lag trying to enter camera. Had it on stock ics, have it in ka10. Can't find out what causes it.

Camera pic

On my original inc you could take pics by long pressing on the area you wanted on focus...I can't seem to do that on the 4g.long pressing will set the focus, but then you must press the shutter button to take a pic.
Any way to change that?
Ps I disabled auto focus because it would just re focus on everything on the screen...
I'm wondering the same thing...

I really miss that feature.

I don't believe there is a way to do that currently, at least not without some mods that would require root.

Power button shutter for camera?

Guys,
Been searching around for awhile now to no avail. I was on an AOSP rom with the 4.2 camera and it had the option for power shutter, to take a photo with the power button.
I'm currently on Beans build 11 and tried the included 4.2 camera app but it's different...
Can we get power shutter with the TW cam?

There is a modded apk out there for what you are asking for. However without modifying the policy the power menu will show every time.
Easier solution would be to just turn on the voice command to shoot.
Works very well
Home2shortcut app can add camera to home button.
