Yeah many issues are kernel related because this was built off the Sense kernel. When we get a strong AOSP kernel a lot of things will be fixed.
Without the help of Joelz9614 the phone would turn off as soon as you unplugged it
awesome cant wait
Omg!!! Ok, this might be worth leaving Ineffabilis for just a little bit. Gotta try this out for sure. Cannot wait!

Is it possible to make the phone not crash if you disable the auto update of time and other informations over your mobile network? As far as i can tell, this is mostly what it is used for. It also provides some networking information but maybe switching to manual fixes that? Anyone tried?

Installation(First time installations require a factory reset prior to flashing, this is important as you could otherwise end up with issues I don't care about.)
Download the zip(s).
Disable Quick Boot!!! and reboot into recovery.
Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM (Highly recommended!)
Wipe data & cache partitions of your device (if coming from another ROM or Stock).
Flash CheckmateROM.
Flash the appropriate baseband for your device.
Flash 4.2.2 Gapps.
Profit?
NOTE: It might take a while to boot into the ROM initially, this is normal (android is optimizing the apps). Give your device up to ten minutes to sort itself out before presuming you're stuck in a bootloop. (Also did you remember to disable quick boot?)

My watch still hasn't arrived so I have one question - what's "quick boot" and how to disable it.
I know I'll figure that up when TS arrive but I'm just curious.
Everything else is perfectly clear...
And yeah ...maybe to add a link to thread in OP how to flash recovery, root and all preparations (if there is something one should do)
Can't wait to try this

Quick boot is an option in the settings menu (under accessibility for some reason). It makes the device boot much quicker, but I guess it conflicts with flashing and stuff.
Thanks for the ROM! I'll have to try it out when I got a bit of time, sounds promising! Although I might wait until the OApps are released, I really do like the clock face as my lock screen =P

Some good news: Mobile Data is now fixed
EDIT: And GPS too! Now I will focus on sound, camera and video
Sent from my Desire 601
You're doing a great job! Keep it up!
Build #2
Changelog:
-no more need to use MultiROM
-data fixed
-gps fixed
-sdcard is now not mounting properly (a fix for that should be done later today or tomorrow morning)
Notes:
-sound, camera and media still not working
-sound: according to logcat errors, there is no /system/etc/mixer-paths.xml, which is now used instead of snd_soc_msm
-camera: the HAL actually loads after adding libwriteback.so to /system/lib, but it still says cannot connect to camera... I did not logcat after adding that, will try later
-the media and audio not working problem is maybe caused by using a combination of display-caf and audio-caf with media-legacy - I had to use that because meda-caf gave me errors
-sources are uploading now
Check first post for updated links
EDIT: I decided to call this build "Build#1" So there will be no more links for MROM. And since I began developing MROM, I will edit the GUI and release it when there will be more than 1 custom ROMs

Then try this:
-unpack the zip
-open /META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
-remove first lines 2 or 3 lines so that the line beginning with "mount" is the first and save it
-repack
This will bypass the model check.

Got the time to install and try it, and everything except the bugs works like a charm (zara_ul)! There are some minor resizments and artifacts, plus some apps not working because of the sound and media problems, but overall its great. I will need my phone now so going back to sense, but will definately use it and help with whatever I can, till its perfect
P.S. Priatel, it's would be better to remove the device check of the updater-script or add zaracl as one of the options. I have zara_ul but the KK recovery by Diur is with device name zaracl, so even I had to edit the script, cheers!
Thanks for testing. I will remove the lines from future builds and also reupload the current one.
And the mobile data is also working fine?

Ill give it a test when I get time, may take a few days though. I tried to download from my phone, dumb question is having the Mega app the only way to download it?

No, you don't have to. If you have chrome, just open the link and then in menu select request desktop site or something like that. It will work, I just tried that

Does the WIFI issue affect public wifi as well (and therefore wifi will not work since it's not possible to get router IP)?

Viper and elegencia are the only two that work. I found some archived roms on Android file host, but all have issues.

It could be a good discussion for the love of same phone, but it went down hill to a fight. Please respect each other's opinion and do take a deep breath before you post.
Thanks for your contribution to XDA.
