Hello all
does anybody know how to change the google account password that i use to login to the market, and gmail on my atrix?
i changed the password on my desktop and now the phone is giving the wrong password, so i cant login to either accounts with my phone.
stock phone except for root
any help is appreciated.
thank you
Settings=>account=>Remove account, then re add it
Remove account
thankyou for your reply ,
i tried that before posting here.
the phone replies with " this account is required by some apps, you can only remove it with a factory reset"
i was hoping not to have to do that. but
if your bootloader is unlocked does a factory reset cause any problems?
like the b word
thanks again
All factory reset reset does is take the ROM back to the state it was when you first flashed or our set it up.doesn't flash anything won't cause a brick

Hi
I have a Y360 and cannot remember its lock pattern anymore.
The phone gives me the option to login with my account. I am not sure what this means. I used 2 gmail accounts on the phone. On the pc I can access both of them. But if I use these accounts to unlock my phone it says wrong username/password.
I dont want to factory reset it since there a lot of pictures/videos on it which I dont want to lose.
any tips are very apreciated.
thx&br
Peter
Hi everyone, My friend has Oneplus X which he was using. During first time setup, I think he enabled device protection feature.
Due to some reason, he did factory reset on his Oneplus X, and also changed his Google account password and his recovery phone number
After factory reset when tried to configure his Google account, it gives error " Please sign in using one of the owners account for this device"
We are able to login his google account on computer,
We also tried to for wipe data/factory reset through recovery
Read on some websites that Google account is locked for 72 hours if we do factory reset and change password. Its been 5 days but still cant configure the google account on the phone
Please help as the phone has become useless

Don't your friend knows what he has done with it ? Then it should be easy
I did a factory reset using power+volume up method, i rebooted, everything was fine. Did initial setup; google account, wifi, languages ect.. Then it ask me for a password, says phone protected, it says a factory reset without entering a password. Now i cant use the phone until i enter the password, i have no idea what it is.
Android L ?
do you use android L?
Hey did you ever find out what this is or how to bypass it?
Any help with this problem?
If you do factory reset Android 5.1.1 and it has a Google account then you cannot get into the operating system unless you know the Google Mail account and it's password that was originally on it. Phone is now bricked. To prevent this from happening before you do a factory reset go to settings then accounts, then click on the Google account highlight it go to the three dots at top right and pick delete the account. All Google accounts must be deleted before factory reset or you will brick it if you don't know email and password.
Hello everyone and thank you for reading my post! I had an Android which I kept in a different state after I moved. After I received it by mail (after 2.5 years) I did a factory reset because I did not remember the passcode. But now to open the Android it requests the Google login for the Google account I had on that phone. In the 2.5 years I didn't have that phone, I also began to use a different Google account and I don't remember the old one. IS there a way I can get past this? Maybe with some software or hackery?
Humbly,
Tom

Hello cmfCyangenModteam and thank you for your answer! I have a relatively new Google account. The problem is that the phone requests my old Google account because that's the one that I had when I used the phone. I tried inputting my newer one and the phone rejects it and doesn't unlock. I don't remember the old Google Account. How can I unlock it?

Have you tried doing a complete Factory Reset? If not, you can do that and then add this new Google Account.

I remembered it!
Factory reset many times until function "Create Google Account" appears.
Remove SIM from the phone.
Use Wi-Fi while setup is on process

I did a complete factory reset, yes
@humbleTom
That's FRP (factory reset protection). Background: Let's pretend that your mobile device got stolen. The first thing a thief will do is to reset the phone, because without knowing the correct display pattern the device is pretty useless (and it's very hard to sold in that state ). Since the settings menu is also unreachable with a locked display the thief is forced to reset the phone via recovery mode. This mode must be always accessible by pressing the right key combo in case you are in serious trouble with an unbootable device. Doing it that way, the following setup of the device requires a login to the last active Google account to verify the owner.
This verification step is also required if you do a factory reset in your settings menu. But here the verification is done before you delete everything by entering your display pattern. This will disable FRP for the following reset because you have then verified that this device is yours.
@WoKoschekk thank you for your answer. Is there any software I can use? I once forgot the password to my windows computer and found software online that was able to unlock the computer. Do you know of anything like that for Androids?

We are talking of a security feature that protects the device. It's not allowed to give any help to bypass FRP in a public forum.
what phone model/android version we're talking about? samfw supports some devices.
