I'm with rooted Sprint stock rom and I want deodex it .
will deodexing the stock rom cause me to loose the future OTA update ?
Probably not but if it came to it you can always SBF back to 198-6 and the OTA shouldnt be an issue.
It is quite possible the 198-7 will OTA update just fine we will know more when that time comes.

Thanks .
I did not understand your reference to 198-7 . I'm now with 198-7 as I wanted to flash the 198-6 but got an error on RSD Lite ,and when tried to flash the 198-7 it worked fine .
Is the 198-7 not an official SBF ?
198-7 was a leaked version came out well before 198-6. Chances are good that the newer OTA may not apply over 198-7 but you wont know till it fails...
Speculation till that time comes.

Rooted my moms eris and want to update it to the latest ota update not worried about root allthough a rooted oced ota would be nice is there a rom out there like this??
Kinda need it to be stable since its my moms phone so i figure just going to the latest ota would be the best bet.
FYI
i tried to just update via the phone but kept getting settings force close errors...
if you are rooted any rom here is 2.1 or higher, just download a rom and your set, dont worry about ota...
fyi plainjane 2.1 is proably your best bet if your wanting to keep that 2.1 stock feel,http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=685581
To get to the OTA
Flash the latest PB00IMG.zip leaked version 3 through the bootloader, let the phone boot up as normal sign in to google whatever. When your done you will get the OTA and it will run successfully, I just did it today because I had to unroot and I'm actually leaving now to bring my phone back to Verizon for Trackball problems, again..... You can then reroot if you want and you will be on the new latest radio etc...
T2Noob released a Stock rom with Root and the ability to Overclock with the Newest OTA about a month back, check it out

I wild even try the cyborg evolution rom since its based off the latest 2.1 ruu.
Just take a look at the ROMs that are available and see what they are bad on.

A couple days ago I successfully flashed CM7 Feb 20 build onto my Atrix, and I was just looking in my SD card and couldn't find the back up that I made before I flashed to CM7, It somehow got deleted, I have no clue, and there's a couple backups all the way from October 25th.. but those were on the 4.5.91 Atrix update, not 4.5.141, so my question is how would I revert back to stock for the ice cream sandwich OTA update if I don't have a back up to 4.5.141? Could I just use a SBF 4.5.141 and RSD lite to go back or what? And since my bootloader is unlocked will I get a brick if I did the ota update? And is voodoo ota roorkeeper safe for keeping root after update?
My apologies for all of these questions..I researched and couldn't find anything..
Thank you in advance.

I have tried CM9 on my Razr for a while but not quite happy with it but I can not flash it back to stock ROM. Does anyone know where to look for the solutions? I have read many topics but not make it through. It keeps saying Installation abort.
Thank you in advance.
use RSD Lite to flash stock ROM Gingerbread
What he said.....make sure you download the correct fast boot files which correspond with your phone....then just use RSS lite to flash to phone. This is simple and works well
Or use the RAZR utility which is a one stop shop

This. I just did this last week (reverting from leaked ICS back to stock GB). Works fine. Just RSD to stock GB and let your phone update all the way to the latest OTA.
which version of ics are you running? 84 or 83?

Ok, I can't find the stock kernel to flash back, as I'm tired of the OTA updates nagging me.
I'm currently on stock ROM with Ninphetemine's kernel.
Anyone can help?
Why do you want to go back to stock to apply an update?
Updates will replace the kernel anway
I read somewhere that it's the kernel that's screwing up the OTA. I'm rooted via Chainfire's method and his stuff supports OTA so I'm sure it's the kernel that's causing the problem.

I am running the leaked canadian rogers ics firmware on my gsm razr xt910
I would like to revert back to gingerbread 2.3.6
I have the gingerbread stock firmware with the .xml files and everything, so if i flash them with rsdlite , will i be back on gingerbread or will that just brick my phone?I need to know because Ive been told the cdi.bin files are totally different, but since im flashing a fresh firmware signed and using rsdlite there shouldnt be a problem? Thanks
Can't go back to GB after upgrading to ICS... Bootloader is different. You will brick Sorry...
Thank the locked bootloader...
