HTC Legend - Sim Free - Legend Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
first i want to apologize for bad English.
So, i have htc legend that can see just Celcom sim.
And i want to put in it an Orange - IL Sim Card.
When i tried to do that, it asked for code that i don't have.
I want to do Sim Free to my HTC LEGEND, without going to the service center.
Bottom line:
So any one have any software or really good site that could unlock my HTC Legend?
Thank you

I've a similar question.
Had unlocked the booloader at HTC Dev of the to Legend from Virgin carrier, CA. This device cames SIM locked. My brother never noticed.
I know it's a little odd asking help on this, but I don't think he should pay, even US$ 9,99 for a computer generated code, to use as he wants a device he bought, payed and is using it (and paying carrier bills) for more than a year.
Sincerally, I want help to prevents puting one cent on this, and get rid of this unlock network sim code.
Regards,
BTW - Samsung guys did the trick, there's an app at Google Play for unlocking it, it's free, legal and, in my thoughts, honest!

I just tried Galaxy S2 SIM Unlock (it took like three hours) and no dice.
Could you be more specific?
Your post seems a little odd; you start by saying you have this question too, and then give half an answer, implying you have the whole answer. What gives?

Ha, I can't believe it!
I just googled 'sim unlock' and spied a link to the network it's locked to (which I only knew because the old SIM was included), and it led to this page: http://www.three.com.au/cs/ContentServer?c=Page&pagename=3CA/Page/3CAStatic&cid=1236150837988
It was free! Sweet!

Wow, nice. I paid $15 CAD for mine, but with no regrets. One of the greatest investments I've ever made on this phone and it was completely worth it.

I got the phone off my cousin; I guess she got her new phone on a plan under the same account.
Pretty sweet of the telco to have a page for SIM unlocking that's potentially free, though

I am not sure but i think in custom roms there are no sim lock. Correct me if I am wrong.

You're wrong. Custom ROMs don't SIM unlock the device.

[Q] sim unlock options

Hello, I have recently got an Amaze from Wind in Canada. I got a deal on the phone so I cannot get the sim unlock from Wind for 3 or 6 months, I can't remember which. I just called them to ask for special consideration as I have been a good customer for a long time but they said the system won't let them see the code for the specified time period.
Is there a free way to get the code to unlock the sim early without using a paid service?
Thanks
Nope u have to pay.
Sent from my HTC Amaze 4G using xda premium
It's not that expensive to SIM unlock it. I paid $20 online and had my code within an hour. There may even be less expensive places available.
You can look into getting a sim overlay card. Not sure how well it works though but if it does then you will probably never need to worry about unlocking another device.
Wind customer service tends to bend the truth (read: lie) rather often. That said, I doubt they'll give you the code either way.
As others have said, you'll either need to pay or wait the required three months.

When I was going out of the country once they had no choice but to unlock my phone, even though in those days they would NEVER unlock sims...this was with good old cingular which later became ATT. tell them you're traveling outside the country and need to unlock it. I hate how you pay for something and the companies think they still own in...like putting their logo on the phone, changing the boot screen, and bloating the hell out of the phone!!!
When I buy a Toyota from downtown los angeles Toyota, The car doesn't say "Downtown Los Angeles Toyota". and it doesn't have a baby seat in the back that i don't need or cupholders engraved with Downtown Toyota!!!! It's my car!!

[Q] not available unlock code for TELUS HTC ONE X+

Hello everyone,
So far I have tried the following to get an unlock code. But no luck so far. They are saying it's not available yet. I am new to android and I got the phone from Telus last week. I need help!
http://www.htcimeiunlock.com
www.cellunlocker.net
ebay item 221163388906
Phone: HTC ONE X+
Carrier: TELUS
Country: CANADA
Also, please point me to another option like rooting my phone or something? or any other unlock sites.
Thanks
Whats up with the official site ?
htcdev ?
I have been reading this forum all afternoon and I haven't found a guide to root and unlock my telus HTC ONE X+. Is there a guide by hanson2000? Also there seems to be an issue with battery % showing 66%. Is that right? Some direction will be really helpful.

Last I had heard you could not unlock this phone. There is a rumor that hanson2000 can do it but for a price. The battery showing 66% is a known issue in recover.
*edit* I assume you are talking about carrier unlock and not the bootloader as it sounds like you have TWRP installed already.
The Telus HOX+ can be rooted and the bootloader can be unlocked, this will allow you to flash a custom recovery and rom. The Telus and ATT versions are identical with minor cosmetic differences so most, if not all things for ATT should work for the Telus version. If you want to unlock the bootloader to root and flash custom roms use hansons toolkit to unlock your bootloader then flash the ATT version of TWRP (all others will muck your phone up). The 66% issue your talking about is that the TWRP recovery always shows 66% battery left so just be aware of your battery life when your using it as i think it is also connected to an issue with it not being able to charge or something, just don't be dumb and try to flash stuff with 15% battery...
As far as SIM unlocks go for Telus, I've read that it can be done. Your best bet for this would be searching through the forums for someone who has done it or contacting hanson as he can possibly find you and unlock code.
I flashed the intl version on my phone and it screwed it up. (silly Americans Canada isn't part of America lol)
I ended up flashing a custom rom after fixing my problems. I didn't want custom but I'm stuck with it now as there are no ruus for us. Anyways I'm using elegancia on Telus with no problems.

ok. GOOD NEWS. i finally got an unlock code. I have been trying many sites. I was desperate.
This seem to worked: http://unlock.canadagsm.ca/htc/HTC-One-X-plus-network-unlocking/
Thanks to unlock.canadagsm.ca for providing me unlock code and it worked.
Good news for you. Mine on AT&T can still not currently be sim unlocked. Tried mobilunlocked.co.uk and cellunlocker.net and neither could do it. Sent a pm to hansoon and got no reply so either he can't do it or just isn't interested. Either way, looks like I'm stuck for the time being -_-

not sure about AT&T but someone must have the codes. I had to keep trying. I spent about $80 but i got refund for those who couldn't provided me an unlock code. Total cost was $29. But it's so worth it. I was getting very worried.

Well, I'm not an AT&T customer so that won't work for me. I did, however, have the nice fellow I bought it from contact AT&T and, according to him, they told him they wouldn't give him the code until his contract expired 0_o. Not sure if that's true or if he was pulling my leg, but either way, I'm not able to get the code from them as a non-customer.

I signed into my at&t account, went to my phone/device, manage my phone/device and the option for unblocking sim card is there. gives me a 8 digit PUK code.
I've been a (very good) customer for years. I do international travel a few times a year.
I've bought around 120$ worth of unlocking codes, none was able to do it except unlock canada gsm. I highly recommand them. It took 3days, but it came in.

Thank you. Apparently I am eligible to. I recommend every at&t customer check this. Assuming you already have another carriers SIM (I do not just considering selling the phone).
Much thanks! Glad I happened to see this today. I was able to get the PUK code for my HTC One X+ too.
I'm on a family plan w/ 3 people including myself and we've been with AT&T for a long time.
Wasn't really expecting to find it, since I've never travelled out of the country and we've never requested an unlock code before, but, sure enough, it was there.
So thanks for this info! My sister is living in London so this will come in very handy when I go to visit her.
I can't actually unlock the phone without putting a non-ATT Sim card in there can I?
I copied the info down regardless, in case they change their mind or something.

Yes...you will need another sim to use the code.
I realize this is extremely unlikely, but could an AT&T customer enter the IMEI number from a Telus version of the phone, in the AT&T unlock page and get an unlock code? Or is it only for the specific handset a specific customer bought through AT&T?
I just thought perhaps the system accesses a data base and can lookup the unlock code for any IMEI number.

[Q] Unlocking T-Mobile HTC One

Today i've recieved a T-Mobile HTC One phone bought from US. I live in israel./
Got few questions, any answer be greatly appreciated.
1. I've made inquiry to T-Mobile, and they told me once i give them info about the phone they'll unlock it for me either in 48 hours or more if IMEI isn't in their databse yet. I've yet to give them that info because i fear the phone might be stolen. I've recieved it from my brother and i et the impression it was bought from the company itself but ..his unavailable to inquire for few days.
Any way to confirm legality of the phone? All i can see is T-Mobile app installed on HTC, and two messeges, one saying "Welcome ...etc...etc.." and other that the sim has been activiated.
2. If i do give them IMEI can they block me permamently and thus no matter where i et the code the HTC is blocked?
3. Any proven third-party sellers who could unlock me the phone?
I'd rather go for legal way if possible, and i know the phone costed about 700dollar so i assume its real price, but you guys let me know what's the best way to approach it.
If you don't mind spending just $3.50, use the link I'm posting below. I used it last night on my T-Mobile HTC One and got an unlock code in ten minutes.

[Q] Sim Unlock Help

First time here, but I have had no success in finding a sim unlock code for my HTC One. It is currently locked to AT&T and I have tried at least 6 or 7 different unlocking sites but to no avail. Every unlocking site has sent me a refund saying that they could not find a code or unsupported IMEI. My question is why is this happening? I bought the phone on ebay since there are no carriers on Guam that currently sell the HTC One. There is a local shop that can network unlock my phone but it will cost me $110. I would rather not spend that much money. Does anyone have any ideas as why this is happening or maybe help me get my phone unlocked? I would gladly pay someone as long as it will get my phone unlocked. (sorry about the long post)
It's probably stolen or a fake.

Have you tried using this site yet? unlockcode247 I just used it a few days ago to unlock my AT&T HTC One. It cost me $3.20 and it took like 4 hours for me to receive the unlock code. I just put in the IMEI number on the phone and that was it. I hope this helps you.

Why won't Att let me unlock my phone

I have the att HTC one that I bought off contract at best buy around july. I've been considering unlocking the phone to test out T-Mobile. I've been requesting online from att to have the device unlock but it keeps telling me that the device currently can't be unlocked. What gives?

How long have you had service? You need to have ATT service for a minimum 6 months I believe.
I have been with att since 2009. I am still under contract til Oct 2014 but that shouldn't have anything to do with it since the phone was paid in full. I thought it was six months for their gophones? At least that's what I understood from their website.

i have used them a few times. the unlock cost me $3.20 and about 2 hours. a few times they took longer. but it's a comin'
and then you don't have to beg for a solution, when you already paid so much for the phone. :silly:
Okay well here's a quick one to bust some bubbles. I bought my HTC One via Wal-Mart on promotion in April. In June I figured to hell with At&t. With that being said I rooted the phone and got S off. Then found a mod on the Development fourm for the One that let me unlock the international menu. I bought a Net10 SIM Card at Best Buy. Cut the SIM to fit and BOOM!!!!!!!! No need for a UNlock code or any of that. Net10 gave me the apn info and from there I've been able bypass all the usual hassle.

OK I was finally able to unlock the phone. I called Att and told them that I had purchased the phone off contract at best buy and that when I would request the unlock code via their website it wouldn't accept my request. She then tells me that if I had bought it off contract the phone should have been unlocked, which was a lie. So then she starts questioning me asking where I bought it, how much I paid etc. I then told her look I have the receipt if you don't believe me. She says well we are going to need you to fax us the receipt. While she is setting up the claim she asked why I wanted to unlock it. I told her because At&t coverage at my house sucks and I wanted to test out t-mobile since my brother gets excellent coverage on his htc one. So I faxed the receipt and next morning had the unlock code. I tried unlocking the phone only to realize that since I had converted my phone to gpe I had to reconvert back using the leaked ruu and then unlock the phone. I am happy to report that finally I was able to unlock the phone. And then I converted back to gpe. Far way better speeds and coverage on T-Mobile prepaid than on att. Well at least at my home. I'm looking testing the coverage on T-Mobile at work and school before I make my decision on fully changing carriers.

Hi ,
I flashed a hell fire rom on my att htc one. Can i just enter the unlock code or do I need to first restore my phone to what it was before (as it came from AT&T and then enter unlock code ).
OP,
did you ever get the phone unlocked?
I'm in a similar situation as you but have a Moto X and they flat out refused to unlock my phone.
Tried some 3rd party unlockers and the code they gave me did not work.

Normally their policy is after 3 months from the moment you got the phone you can request the unlock code. and also the unlocking really comes out of who you talk to... Some are very easy going other not.

Yea, i saw that its 60 days. is it possible to activate my phone overseas for 60 days? It really does seem like the unlocking is very random and down to whoever you get on the customer support line. I've had no luck and have a 500 dollar paper weight !
me and my brother both bought our AT&T HTC one's in contract.
we both used a third party online unlocker to unlock both our phones.
Costs us each 10$ and within minutes our phones were unlocked.
it's stupid of them to antagonize their clients like that.
just drives people aways.
