I've done some searching and seen 1 or two similar posts, but none with exactly the same issue as me...so here goes:
I am currently running SuperClean 3 Milestone 1 as-is (stock kernel). I did a full data, cache, and davlik wipe before installing with CWM Red from SD Card.
The problem I am experiencing is that I cannot figure out how to designate one of my (3) screens as the "Home Screen". In the OEM Verizon ROM, there was a grey button at the bottom of each screen (when in screen edit mode). In SC3 there doesn't appear to be such a button. Furthermore, my 3rd screen seems to default as the home screen sometimes, but not always. Other times I hit the home button from any of my 3 pages, and nothing happens.
I am thinking about trying the KGB kernel, would this help?
Thanks!
I assuming you are using TW launcher that comes with the rom.
menu >> edit >> menu >> Set as Home and then select which window/slide/page you want to be the home screen and press done.

Yes, I am using the TW launcher. Once I am in "Edit" mode, pressing the "menu" does nothing... Do I need to re-flash the ROM?
My apologies. I am on TSM rom. SC3 and TSM uses two different TWLuncher version.
On TSM is the way I mentioned earlier how to set homescreen.
For the SC3 homescreen, I think you just have to move the pages around. Usually your center page is your default homescreen, sometimes your fourth page?
I have noticed SOMETIMES it's the 3rd screen (out of 3), but other times pressing home doesn't seem to do anything...
I would like to post this in the actual SC thread, but I don't think I have enough posts.
Is anyone else with SC3 experiencing this? SC3 milestone 2 was just released earlier this week and I am planning to flash that soon, so maybe it will fix my issue...
Go head and flash SC 3 M2. I do not think you need to wipe data. I think most of us are probably using a different launcher ie: ADW.Laucher, Launcher Pro, Go Launcher EX, etc.
From my short experience with the TW launcher, screen 4 is always the default home. Since you only have 3 screens, 3 become the home screen, most of the time.
I had the problems you described at first and I quickly installed ADW ex.

How can I change the boot animation. Help please
First you will need to install a kernel that supports changing the Boot animation. I use the KGB kernel. Other will also work with SC3 but I haven't tried them.
Once the new kernel is installed you copy over the new bootanimation.zip file to /system/media folder

I installed Kaosfroyo on my Eris, but only have 5 homescreens. Can't find method to got to 7, even though I saw it after first powerup. Help?
The stock android launcher only goes up to 5. KaosFroyo comes with the ADW launcher baked in. You should be able to go to Settings > ADW Launcher and there should be an option somewhere in one of those menus to change it to 7. If, for some reason, the stock launcher is running, you will need to switch the default launcher back to ADW/LauncherPro/etc in the Settings > Applications >Manage Applications section.
Home Screens
I don't see "ADW Launcher" anywhere. If I look in "Manage Apps" it shows Launcher 2.2. No options to change it, that I could find.
If you are running KaosFroyo v34 then you should have the new ADW Launcher as default. Press the menu button and then click on edit. On the top right and left of the screen are two green plus buttons, press one to add a screen.
Home screens
I installed Kaosfroyo v29. Is that an old version? Can I upgrade to V34, or is it a seperate download?
Hello all, first post and hopefully it should not be very difficult to resolve....
I had LauncherPro installed to my Bell Atrix, and then decided i wanted to remove.
Using Titanium Backup, I froze alot of Moto sys apps as per this article... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=972459
before removing LPro, I unfroze Home 2.2.1 and then rebooted the device. Now it will boot up but i have no home screen... just blank.
Any help would be appreciated...
OK figured it out on my own... the best way to learn !!!!!
- Enter Fastboot:
Hold Volume down + power until you see Fastboot at the top left
Use volume down to scroll down to "Early USB Enumeration"
- Phone now tells me that I have no homescreen and took me to Market
- Downloaded LP again
- Reboot, and chose LP as the default homescreen.
SO looks like i am back to where I started from, now i need the right instructions to remove LP correctly. I'll do a search for that, the answer is out there somewhere
Could you not goo back to the thread above, re enable the blur stuff, revert to blur before removing launcher then remove launcher.
To be prompted for a home screen I think you need to go to settings/applications/manage launcher and then clear defaults. If should then sask you which home screen to use, our out will just go to blur.
OMG! I have an Atrix! [XDA app]

I did the same a while back. Another fix is to use a desktop and the online market to send a launcher to your phone through there. Just make sure to unfreeze blur and everything associated with it before you remove any other launcher. Personally, I unfreeze everything before making these types of changes.

Alright so I just got a Samsung Fascinate through a trade here on XDA and everything seemed to be in working order...except for the actual software in the phone. For one, the home button doesn't take me home, it simply takes me to a blank screen. I can pull down the notification bar and everything...but I can't get home to actually access and apps or anything. The only way I can access anything is when I hold down the home button to get most recent apps.
I've tried multiple times to hard reset..battery pulls..everything. Someone please help me out. I contacted the previous owner of the phone and he said you just have to press the home button a little harder...that didn't work.
It obviously works because it takes me to a blank screen and allows me to access the most recent apps..but it won't actually take me home.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance guys
Considering the Hines button is capacitive, pushing harder does nothing.
Is the phone rooted or stock?
If stock, try to Odin fresh stock. If rooted, try a different rom
Try installing a different launcher such as Adw, launcher pro or zeam to see if the problem goes away.
Now it does have a crack, but I don't think thats the problem because when I press it it still takes me to a blank screen so it must work.
And he gave me those options..and said it was semi-rooted? Considering I just came fresh from a Moto Droid I really know nothing about the process. Is Odin like SBF? I just want to have the phone in its original state to see if I even like it first..

I would second this suggestion. Often, launchers can have individual settings for what the home button does (i.e., with Go Launcher EX, the home button can be set to take you to your home screen, and if already on your home screen, pressing the home button will open up a shortcut, app, preview homescreens, etc.). So, by installing another launcher, it my clear away whatever setting is on the phone you got (i.e., launching a blank screen). Another option would be to go into your Setting > Manage Applications, and find your default launcher. Open it, and then "Clear Defaults."
Alright I got it to work by restoring completely with odin and changing the home screen launcher.
Thanks guys! It's much appreciated
Anyone know a way of doing it with the galaxy s2?
I did use the string
ro.csc.homescreen.defaultscreen=2
It worked fine on ke7 but I've updated to kh3 and now it no longer works.
After a reboot default.prop just reverts back to original.
No ideas?
i don't know how to change the default homescreen on touchwiz so all i can give as advice is this:
Try Go launcher EX there all you need to do in order to set a different homescreen is pinch on the homescreen area and it will take you into the zoomed out mode. after that you will notice that one screen is lit green just click on the home button on any other screen to change it into the default homescreen.
go launcher also gives you the ability to make your homescreens scroll without stops.
just try it and tell me your thoughts about it so that i try to further help you.

Thanks for your reply.
I've used Go Launcher many times and it's a fantastic launcher. However touchwiz is much lighter and seems more responsive so wanted to stick with it.
I was just hoping someone would know a hack.
+1 for this
I've still not found a way of getting this to work. I thinks its basically because default.prop file seems to always change back to its original state after a reboot.
So I add the line:
ro.csc.homescreen.defaultscreen=2
Reboot and its no longer there.
I have also noticed that after updating to KH3 the default.prop is no longer in /system location.
Does anyone know why default.prop now reverts back after a reboot and a way of preventing it happening?
Try the new TW from theme n application section.
It has the feature you need

Is it possible to do this yet without root? For example, have screen 4 as default so that you only need to swipe left or right by 3 screens?
every time I try to install an app it pulls up the apk handler asking me how I want to install it...no problem right? Well, now it's repetitively opening it probably 300x/minutes and closing it...won't allow me to select to install it at all...
This wouldn't be that big of a problem except that I have Thumb Keyboard installed and I can't type until I reinstall thumb keyboard b/c of the rebooting/power glitch of thumb keyboard not sticking.
I can't hit the home button because when I try to it asks which home to default to (I JUST installed ADWEx launcher and then my tablet auto-rebooted on its own after I tried to change the wallpaper)...It gets stuck in the same loop cycle that the installation process gets stuck in...except this time it's with the default home launcher.
Any ideas?
Try the failed boot restore. Interrupt the boot, ten times, and it will do a complete system restore.

Any other options outside of this?
I was able to send zeam launcher via downloading from market.android.com
That enabled me to get to the AppMenu where I could change my keyboard to the stock keyboard...
I now have a keyboard back up and working.
What I don't have? I cannot install any apps or set a default home. Do you think this has something to do with the Nook Home replacement app that I had downloaded?
Update:
I guess to add a description...
So I can't open any menus that don't already have default applications...when I try to, they keep popping up over and over and over again.
I can never select anything when the popups are going on. I can double-tap nook home and it takes me back to the stock home. I installed
Nook Color Apps Manager via market.android.com (it has push install so I didn't have to worry about choosing a package installer)
I uninstalled ADW Ex, the Nook Home Launcher Replacement for rebinding the Nook key, Go Launcher Ex, and Zeam.
Next Update:
After uninstalling Dolphin and Firefox nightlies, it took me back to default Browser. I was then able to reboot the NT. My problem of not being able to select on a screen that didn't have a default app already disappeared.
However, after redownloading the HomeCatcher.apk, I was unable to rebind the double tap to my launcher of choice.
A reboot and a fresh download of HomeCatcher.apk has it working again.
Everything is pretty much back up and running at this point.
Final Update
Everything is back up and working. I hope this thread is helpful to someone at some point if they struggle with this same problem.
I'm posting updates as I go in case anyone encounters this same problem...maybe what I am doing will help you fix the issue without having to do an entire factory reset:S
