Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate 5.1.22.0305
this program rocks.. i did it..
if anybody needs a convertor to work with HTC...
use teh blackberry mp4 preset. ;o)
Can also use SUPER... Freeware conversion software. Nothing flash, but works OK... Converts a pile of formats though from avi to matroska, MP3 to ogg...
The thing with MP4 is it's like AVI - you can have one of many formats inside the MP4 wrapper.
It might be that the MP4 file has an H.264 video stream and an AAC audio stream - try playing it with CorePlayer Mobile or the Omnia MP4 player. I'd suggest you try playing it on your computer first (with something like VLC or Media Player Classic) - that way you can see what codecs it's actually using, and if needed transcode the file to a format which your mobile phone can play.
Thats why I like SUPER. It has specific settings for a multitude of devices, PPC's are on the list. Its up to you to choose the size of the screen, the frame rate and audio codec used but I find it works well and fast.
Cheers...
Hi guys. can someone teach me how to stream video to my vibrant using dropbox?
I have several mp4 format videos in my dropbox but i can't stream it directly to my vibrant. It said "this video is not allow for streaming on a vibrant"
Do i have to be in a specific format for it to work? I thought vibrant can run on mp4.
Hi,
I wanted to play a video recorded by SGS2 in .mp4 format, but it looks like nothing out there can support it. It plays without any problems on the phone, but VLC, WMP and even WinAmp can't recognize the codec used. My question is - what is the video codec and is there anything that can play/convert it?
The *.MP4 file is a wrapper that binds both the video and audio + subtitles file.
Depending on the resolution, it can also be a *.3GP file.
*.MP4 usually uses H.264 video compression and AAC for audio format.
*.3GP stores video streams of H.263 or AVC/H.264 format, and AMR audio format.
In Windows 7, H.264 is supported without requiring to install any codecs.
3GP however is not supported in Windows 7.
If you are using Windows XP, you not only need the H.264 codec, you also need a MP4 splitter. As for 3GP, you need a codec for that as well.
Haali Media Splitter is useful for both MP4 and MKV files as a splitter.
FFDShow is a great all in one codec package for H.264, x.264, H.263.

Click to collapse
Video codec: H264 MPEG4 (AVC)
Audio codec: MPEG AAC (mp4a)
I have no problem to play my mp4 files recorded by using my SGS2 with VLC.
Maybe you should check for an update of your VLC media player.

It is not necessary to convert - all on much easier) Install MX Player
Ffdshow and vlc should do it or check cccp codecs out..

I have some avi video files and the playback is choppy, if i use mx player and choose s/w decoder they play as they should. Other formats like mp4 and mkv play fine with the stock video player its just avi. Anyone else notice this?
Never mind i think its just a certain batch of files i have, it must not like the codecs or something. i have tried other avi files and they run smooth
I have some videos with mp4 format and they cant played with stock video player. But it works with other player.
I give 1 video for example.

I also alreasy try that video on another phone (oppo, xiaomi) and it works perfect.
Is stock video player has specific mp4 format?
