Hey ..
Im running cm7.1 stable version ...and im currently new to al this ..but i have searched A lot..and couldnt find any solutions ..So any help would be appreciated
1.Market keeps crashing when i scroll to the description
2.Connecting to 3G leads to Loss of signal and eventual reebooting
3.Camera used to lag .(but i found a fix)
ALso the battery life is horrible compared to touch WIz...
Why Is it even called stable if there are stil problems...With touchwiz i dint have to EVER reeboot the phone because it hung or something.
Please help me out on the first two problems because i dont wanna keep flashing different roms !
Thnks!
Don't use that version, pick a nightly. The version you are using is not really stable.
I tried Remix 8.5 based on XXLP6and 8.6 based on XXLPB
LPB is in very good progress versus LP6
4 remarks
the security settings don't function totally ( send SMS, and others functions ) , and like phone locator pro switch off the phone when using it
when screnn off, it is necessary to reboot
I think that in V8.6 CF root LP6 replaces LPB for allowing the apps on SD
but radio FM disappears . with LP6, radio FM is good
Keyboard the typed letter is not the letter on the screen
quick panel lidroid is very good but I prefer JKAY settings
(with many possibilities )
Andyx rom 5.1 radio fm is ok but the choice of cf root pl6 stop recup of some apps by titanium. security settings are going well
so I wait a new version of ICS rom for leaving 2.3.6 version

criskelo rom V38 with
GSMArenea posted that ICS will come officially in March to the S2 and Note
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_ii_and_galaxy_note_to_get_ics_in_march-news-3752.php
If you can wait a bit longer there will be an official base to make a stable ICS ROM and then XDA will have them to flash safely without any of the current problems.Until then I dont think its work it,for me anyway, flashing anything thats so unstable for daily use when in a month or two we will have fully stable ICS here.
Hi,
i have CM 7.1.0 RCO-Thunderg-mik installt on my p500. I am pretty happy with this rom but i have problems with the bleutooth connection to my car stereo. The sound quality is extremly bad - basicaly just noise. I restored the official 2.2 Android and it did work perfectly. Therefore there must be a problem with the CM 7 rom!
Is there a way to fix this or are there other roms that i should try (CM 9)? I would like to have a stable daily life rom just as the CM7 with good battery life and some normal tweaks.
If i should look for a newer rom - do i have old baseband with the current rom installed? (i don' remember ever flashing the baseband - but it is possible that i did!)
Thx for your Help!!
Jim
sooo, i flashed the new baseband and oxygen rom and bluetooth works well!
Overall smooth rom but without ukw radio.
hi there guys i am not new in roming rooting etc. stuff but never used cm based roms before but for the looking of cm based roms and smoothness distracts me so i decited to install [ROM][JB][4.2.2] Avatar ROM for Samsung Galaxy SIII(i9300) to my phone but i wanna ask cuple questions i dont know they are idiotic or not
first what the hell is google adds that rom developers giving under rom links that. Do we have to install it for somereason or what please someone explain
second my mobile internet connection is not useable between home and work i am passing from countryside so i need to use normal fm radio i heard normal radio cant be used whit aosp aokp roms can i use normal fm radio whit this avatar rom ?
Hey there,
You must be talking about the google apps, some aosp roms like CM require that you install them separately because they're not open source. It's basically gmail, play store, music etc..
As for FM radio I suggest using spiritFM, it has a free version available here on xda.
Hello. I know that this question is asked a million times, but answers to them are already obsolete. Currently am looking ( I am sure I am not the only one) for headache-free, stable and fast ROM as my daily driver. I just want to install a ROM, tweak it a little if I have to and be sure it will work me for another year or so (I am to tired to flash 3rd ROM in a row to see it have major problem).
So if someone would post a brief information about ROM you are using, any custom modification, setting tweaking, flashed custom kernel and potential tradeoffs You The Real MVP.
My experencie with Rom's so far:
Archidroid v3.0.2 (kitkat)
Previously I used as a daily driver which really worked nice for me, until I got infamous "google services stopped worked" which I fixed only by turning google location service (making some cool aps unusable) . Shame, it is the best ROM I tried. The only problem I had was for camera sometimes freezing in black screen, but it happened very rarely.
There was suggestion to re-flash this ROM with flashing never GAPS from OpenGAPS project. Tried, but again got "google services stopped worked". I saw some other workarounds I could try, but I want to be sure there isn't anything better before I try it.
Archidroid v3.1.5 (Lolipop)
Based on lollipop, everything works reliably, BUT much slower then on Kitkat version. Though strangely, decreasing dpi to 240 improved performance dramatically. Many users agree that 3.0.2 is still the better one.
Cyanogenmod-13 (Marshmallow)
Looks promising, fast out of the box with some interesting features. However still buggy (torch not working on lock screen, chrome/ radio crashes phone and so on).
So far as I understand best ROM's are based on Kitkat - Lollipop and Marshmallow needs more ram to run effectively then s3 has. So even some developers suggest sticking to older Android versions. I also heard Boeffla kernel is the best one though I didn't try it personally. What makes it so special ?
Try Liquid Smooth KK rom with boeffla kernel
CyanogenMod 11
Hello,
if you want a stable and battery save ROM, I would prefer CyanogenMod 11 Nightly!
Download:
cm-11-20151213-NIGHTLY-i9300.zip
boeffla-kernel-2.13-CM11.0-i9300.recovery.zip

Heh, thanks. I actually flashed cyanogenmod 11 stable and indeed, its stable as it should. Was some problems flashing OpenGAPS but managed to fix flashing version without Aroma installer.
Could anyone tell more about boeffla kernel? What is so special about it ? I know that I can tweek some settings, but I am not going to trade stability for +100 benchmark points.

I use boeffla on all roms because of boeffla sound tweaks and easy zram setup.
Best rom is pacman kk rom, all features in one, bugless...
If u need i will send u gapps that i used before on that rom and worked great.
Only thing it doesnt work, like on all kk, lp and probably mm is noise supression for viber/whatsapp calls. I tried all kk, most lp roms, tried everything to enable ns for voip but it could not be enabled.
Touch wiz rom i recommend is ncsrom, most lightweight rom, fast and stable, made with boeffla kernel...
