Hi everyone!
I have a T-Mobile Xperia Mini, 4.0.2.A.0.42 build.
If the phone is in my pocket, and i get an incoming call, when i take it out of my pocket to answer the call, the touch screen is not active. I cannot move the slider on the screen. I have to press the power button to turn off the screen, and after 20-30 seconds i can turn te screen on again, and then i can answer the call. But if i leave the screen on, it does not activate the touch screen, no matter how long i wait.
The second problem is that if my phone is in my pocket with headset connected, and i answer the call with the headset button, it unlocks the screen. So as i walk talking, i press random things on the screen. For example, during a 2 minutes call, i disabled the microphone, got to the main screen, turned a page, enabled the gps and bluetooth via the shortcuts on my screen...
I think this is not how it was meant to work. I think is it a software issue. The service test shows htat the proximity sensor is working. But i can not answer most of my calls.
Is there a solution for these, or should i take it back where i bought it? I cannot update the software, PCC says it is up to date.
I tried factory reset and software reinstall, i got the same results.
I searched the "hw_config.sh" file, thre are parameters for proximity sensor, but i can not understand the functions of them.
I have the same Problem On Xperia Mini Pro SK17i
but when I open the qwerty the screen will light again
Note: I already deleted the software and but it again on my device and the problem solved for just 3 days and it happened again
PLZ help me I love my phone and I want to solve this problem fast
I did not find a solution. Only possibility left is to bring it back to the trader for repair.

hello
i have xperia mini............during incoming calls and when iam trying to take the phone from my pocket .......trying to answer but no response from the phone instead the keyboard is appearing and finally i miss the call.............plz help
seems like overheating and capacitive buttons problem, please dont use that font.
Try running a update or if your have the latest version a software repair on the phone using PC Companion.
If this problem still remains I would suggest that you contact your local support team to have the phone examined at a repair center.

I have the same problem. It seem that is has something to do with the proximity sensor. It occurs only when the phone is in my pocket.
I tried to update it, it didn't work. Then i took it back to the seller (T-Mobile). They did a software update with a special software from SE. It solves the overheat issue, but not this.
The problem is still present, but it occurs not so often.
Another thing, if the phone is in my pocket with headset connected, if i accept an incoming call with the headset button, it turns the screen on in my pocket. During the call i press random things on my screen. This is also a problem, the screen should be turned off while the phone is in my pocket.
Hi,
My xperia x10 mini pro have started acting strangely. The notification light went off first, then the speaker on the phone for listening to calls is not working and I have to use loud speaker to make or attend any calls. Now the keypad is not working. Whenever I open the keypad, the screen freezes and when I close it, it resumes to normal. If I had typed anything while the keypad was dragged open, it comes on the screen when I push the keypad back.
I am running nAa Kernel with MiniCM7 2.1.7 build.
I tried wiping cache and factory resetting, still no change.
Please help!
man you've got a hardware problem with the flat cable connecting the screen.
go to the nearest SE repair center to replace the cable and your phone will work again.
I have given it to service centre.
Thanks for the reply
My LED lights and phone speakers dont work either, lol!
Damn, i'll have to get it repaired too
second day and already have many problems:
1. ringtone turned off vibration only. still have ringtone with incoming calls
2. making calls screen turned off once near ear. moving away from ear doesn't turn on the screen. try any button nothing works. have to turn off power to cut
3. smart stay isn't smart. screen still turned black even with bright environment
Am I unluckily with a faulty phone or they are known bugs? thanks
Not to sure mate
I have had NONE! of the problems that you have had, although i have had a few problems e.g. the turn to mute media stopped working and things like that, all i had to do was a restore and it is fine now, i was speaking to the people at the carphone warhouse (phone shop in the uk) they said they have only had 1 return since launch and that was because the screen wasnt big enough and they went for the note, i have also always found that samsung is happy to help you if you have a problem with your phone just give them a ring.
1: you need to explain exactly what you changed.
2: It's supposed to go off near ear because uses proximity sensor to save battery turning screen off.
3: Smartstay just doesn't work as well as it should do.
My HTC One Max's screen often comes on during calls. Then the touch screen reads my face's contact with the screen and acts according to what it thinks I selected. I have ended up several menu layers into apps that opened because of this. But worse, I have frequently had my calls mute - so the person I am talking to can no longer hear me.
I have had my HTC One Max less than a month, and it has had to be replaced twice, once because the 3G radio didn't work, and the second time because of this issue. Well, the current replacement has the same issue too. I used Android Sensor Box to test the functioning of the proximity sensor, which should be what controls this function. It appears to work, but my experience tells me that it stops working a few minutes into a call.
Your ideas and suggestions are welcome. I love the phone, but this is a problem I can't live with.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
My suggestion is to always press the power button during calls that way the phone only comes back on if you hit the power button again... The reason it comes on now during calls because your ear / side of your head covers and uncovers the sensors at the top of your phone so to eliminate that just turn the screen off by pressing the power button it work 100% for me, my wife had the same problem until I told her to start doing that.. Lmk if that works!!

Hello everyone,
Few weeks ago I was replacing LCD in my Sony Xperia Z3 (d6603), and something must went wrong, becasuse since that time, my approximity sensor is turned on all the time. When I want to call someone, screen instant is going black and I can't do anything... Now I can end call with power button, but it only works in normal calls, not in Messenger or Whatsapp :/ I tried almost everything (calibraiting, permamently turn off with apps etc.) and this sensor is still on. And here is my question:
Guys, do you know any way to turn off approximity sensor for ever? I'm looking for solution in internet for a weeks, and I can't find anything, that can help me
My phone is stock (Android 6.0.1), not rooted, but if it's really needed, I can root my Sony
Best regards
Adam
