The flyer has a couple of HC ROMs with working hardware buttons, how come the View doesn't have one? is the kernel totally different? or no one is interested in making one because of smaller user base?
You need kennel source

Hi,
HTC publish the kernel source on their developer side. Here you can get it.
So, now we stil wait for the Sense SDK (beside honeycomb update, unlock bootloader, ... )
I can't do anything with kernel source but wanted to say thanks elim for what your doing for this device

a) I haven't done so much until now but thank you.
b) There is a 'Thanks' button under every post
I'm still waiting for the sources for the view and the evo gingerbread kernel. I miss overclocking, undervolting and interactive governor Hopefully the flyer owners can whip up some kernels for you.

what the hell happened to the view kernel source??
I am new to tablets and also have never seen two devices developed in the same thread so I was wondering if flyer roms will work on my view? I know there two specific roms for the view but wanted to see if there is more options.

I'm running CM7 on my HTC Incredible and don't miss Sense at all. In fact, I like not having it. Any chance (short of CM 9) that we'll get a ROM for the Flyer that is purer than what HTC releases?
You could make one your self by taking out seperate HTC apps, such as the launcher and such. THen you could add stock replacements from another ROM

This Rom has both sense and stock honeycomb launchers. If you default to stock the ui is very much a non sense feel. Less the lock screen

Hello All,
My question is
if i do the official update of the flyer to the honeycomb then do you think that it would be possible to make phonecalls ( i mean to do all this procedure )
No, not a feature that is enabled in stock honeycomb

The only thing we would want is a jellybean aosp custom rom and then our tablet would be at its best potential and no lag will be experienced ever with the ui . I hope sometime in the future the bootloader gets unlocked and we can make good use of our tablets
