HTC Flyer and Beats Audio - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

Hi from an happy new owner of the amazing HTC Flyer....by now I can notice only a little "issue": the absence of the beats audio equalizer...that I had on my previous HTC Desire HD with RCMix3D ROM.....
Could this little feature be added to the Flyer so I can enjoy fully my new tablet with my beats SoloHD?

I tried and failed. It had been mentioned before. I do not think it is a very simple task.
Sent from my HTC Flyer P510e using xda premium

I shouldn't be so difficult to do....I think....it's only necessary to take the code from the htc audiomanager from a rom that has this add-on and port it to the flyer's audiomanager.......I think that here we have a lot of good devs that can do this...it's only that they need some "motivation" from us.....

read this thread

Sent from my HTC Flyer P510e using xda premium

I read the thread but apart from the files that needs to be edited it doesn't tell me nothing new......yeah someone told at first that it didn't worked in HC but then nothing more.....I still think that if a very good dev( and here we have a lot) will work seriously in this he'll find the solution....they enabled phone calls.......however i think that the biggest problem is HC.....has someone tried on GB( that is the platform the add-on has be designed for)?

I guess I should of linked the post from Lee Droid but he is an experienced Dev. His comments in the thread suggest that it is not as easy as you may think and that by following the instructions in the link you would have the app but that it would not actually do anything. In order to actually get it working is much more involved is my point

I think we should move the discussion to the Dev's thread and see what they say...

Looks like the divorce of Beats from Monster may leave HTC holding a $300 million bag of smelly stuff.

[Q] HTC and Beats audio

so i have been wondering this for a while now. why can only HTC phones run beats audio? my hp pavillion Dv6t has it also but you never see it on any motorola or samsung phones or dell or toshiba computers. anyone know why this is?
Btw i have a MT4g so i have the pleasure of being able to run beats and have eargasams all day long.
Because HTC has a licensing agreement with beats. Beats is garbage anyway..

I strongly disagree. But that still doesn't answer my question. You are posting on a site that is dedicated to, "hacking". That generally implies that we don't follow the rules.....

It can be sorted out..But it depends on the devs if they can actually figure out what needs to be ported over to the phone of choice

Desire HD User want your advise

hello everybody i'am from Desire HD Forum and i want your advise...
i'am thinking to change my DHD with EVO 3D ... but i didn't use it before so i haven't any experience about it only his Specifications, photos and videos.
just want to know is there is a big different between them in performance?
and what about the 3D tech in videos, photos and games is it really interesting ?
Hiya m8,
Having a Desire HD, i know what you mean, and i always wanted an EVO 3D from the off, but since having it i'm finding the development a little lacking, there's some great dev's here don't get me wrong, but opposed to the DHD, it's just not a comparison, the DHD got a lot of attention, something which you'll miss if you make the switch to EVO3D, sorry to put it to you like that, but it's true.
It's up to you at the end of the day and i wouldn't swap my EVO i just thought i'd tell you what i think of it.
Personally given the choice i would go for the XE Sensation. Or wait for the ville, which i believe is going to be heavily developed for.

Now I wouldn't say development is lacking here in anyway and honestly don't get how anyone says that ever. What is there not offered here?...
Now besides the point if it were me this time of yr would be the worst time to get a phone. New stuff will be out within a few months that's even better. Also I wouldn't buy a non LTE device right now either less you were okay being on short stick in future...

The problem is the 3d camera! plain and simple, it's going to cause developing problems, problems which don't seem to be troubling the sensation thread, nor the DHD thread. That's what i mean, plus developers like Coredroid and RCMIX, and P3D are not present on the EVO3D, plus most of the threads are still on release one.
The one's which aren't haven't moved much, they're trying, they really are, but there's usually a lot more dev's on the phone's that i've had that's all, not having a go, it's just a fact.

Umm take those 3 devs and ill give you many more here that do magical things!!! Only thing sensation has over the 3D is the build leaks it gets and all...
Most threads on release one? Now I know your not looking. What do you mean by not moving much? Makes no sense at all. Again I'm not seeing anything that isn't offered here that you could want besides fully working ICS/CM9 but that will come with source as always anyways...4G doubtfull but everything else will come along.
I might have to retract that all if ur talking about gsm version only as I don't follow that side as much and know there are not as many threads there, so if that's the case then so be it...

i myself was a dhd owner ..now using 3d. and must say i like it alot. plus 3d pics+dual core+better resolution+1gb ram. for day to day use this is the best. but if you are interested in roms then its still a good choice but not better than sensation as the guys covered it had more ruu leaks and doesnt suffer from developing the 3d function. but i love the 3d
thnx very much guys for your advises...,
i think Sensation XE will be better choice,
in my country both of them at the same price.
i wan thinking about the sensation too, but i'm afraid because i read in some reviews it gets hot and here in summer i guess it would be a real problem
as for the performance i guess both the sensation (xe or not) and the evo 3d are almost identical

I thought you already rooted your phone along time ago lol...
why? because you want to be smart! (lol)
One reason why is because you are a tinker in nature, you don't conform yourself with what you have, you want to push it to the limit, you want to see how far you can take what you have and make it better, or just customise it to how you really would like it to be. You are a person who likes to live on the edge and love the hard way of things, but you love knowledge and you love to make sure you fully understand what it takes to get one of these devices up and running and what other things it can do for you.
You are a playful person in nature, you just want more and don't know how to settle for: "Here you are, just use it how I tell you and everything will be OK"
Those are some of the reasons why I rooted, I hope it points you out in the right direction.
Go to the OP of any rom and look at the features and change logs. Then you will ask yourself "Why am I such an idiot for not rooting sooner?"
to be able to learn about and mod your phone. to get beats, a faster phone, a phone with better battery, stuff like beats, or whatever else htc doesn't watn to give us. cool themeing, etc. if you still dont know why check out the dev section. if you still dont know why, dont.
No bloatware is awesome, skinned out themes & free tether. When I get a new phone I usually run stock for months till the roms develop and I get bored of stock. I just did my 3D recently and I wish I would have did it a long time ago.
With my old phone (motorola motus) there was no question about it - android 1.6 ultrabloated with motorola's policy of supplying updates only to phones under carrier subscription and not to unbranded ones, you -had- to root and install a custom rom to get basically a working phone.
now I got my evo 3d, there are a lot of nifty things that would come with root, mostly removing bloatware and a lot of nice tweaks, yet I'm in the phase "dont want to waste time now and then need to reinstall everything when full working ics comes out", basically the phone is "good enough" as it comes out of the shop, you arent forced to tweak it.

Exactly, I was bored as hell and wanted something to do. Now I've got a rom addiction.
I wanted to root, but with ICS coming around the corner, I think it'd be best to wait for it to come out and, depending on what that does, I may use the HTC Unlocker. Also, I may just do that anyways to I can use the Sprint Hotspot for free.
Why? Because I wanna take control for some feature that I can't get without rooting my phone, I believe by rooting and do some tweak and mod by my self I can get better performance and any unique theme-only-i-have-in-this-world..

Goodbye....!
Why do dogs lick their balls? Because they can!
Google is your friend... Google "reason to root" if they don't obtain to you, and you don't want full control of your device then don't root, if you want full control of your phone then root....
What are the reasons you spent the money you did on the EVO 3d? To have the latest and the greatest technology in your hands... Why not further that with root?
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
Defiantly Worth Rooting...
I actually just rooted my 3d after having it and debating about it for some time now... and I'm glad I did! There is absolutely no lag, it's fluidity is astounding, and there is no Sprint bloat on the phone anymore... not to mention to be able to do WiFi Tethering without paying the extra money for it (just a nice bonus).
Hope this helps!
We root because we can. If you dont want to then go get a iPhone.
I rooted my phone because I wanted a faster phone WITH better battery life. Even with the stock kernel, my phone is faster by using a different ROM than stock (I use MeanRom for the record). Plus, the tweaks to the menus (ala Leedroid Tweaks) give you the little things that you did not know you even wanted but now wonder why they are not included in the first place.

Seems like a neat idea. Hope you are able to work it out.
Problem would be that they would never say that it's about cost, because they have already said that it is about performance, at least through unofficial channels.....
Best of luck!
I think something in the range of $10 million US would be a good starting point for HTC. Considering they paid $300 million for a glorified equalizer (Beats).
What are we doing exactly? I'm confused
I think the proposal is to pay HTC to support their own device !
I don't think it will work.
It will be funny to see what they say though - cos' they should be ashamed....

I'll be getting one eventually but in the meantime think its time to just make the most out of what we have with the flyer. Senseless, the best honeycomb rom, and LISBON, the only AOSP ICS Rom we have. Could be worse, we could have Views lol.
Anyway for the time being lets all just give up on Jelly bean and focus on what we have. I've complained more than anyone, but I'm over that, I'm all about helping where ever I can to make sure the flyer experience doesn't suck. And besides, the whole portrait oriented nature of Jelly bean makes me kind of want to pass on it anyway.
I gotta thank Wadegeek for calling me out for being such a crybaby. Honestly the flyer is only as bad as you make it out to be. And updates are over-rated, a perfectly fast working honeycomb is as good as any ics or jellybean rom...well minus support for chrome that is lol.
and its just beyond time to give up on htc. The writing is on the wall, HTC is done making them, done supporting them, and betting their future on the one series. Any future updates will have to come from ourselves.
And seeing how little signatures we got on the petition shows why htc gave up on it. The flyer was a flop. Like the Apple Newton, Nintendo Virtual Boy, Sega Saturn, HD Radio its a flop. but difference is its open source android so we can do something about it.

Agree, all we need is a good enough rom that we can use everyday without turning into rage.
Senseless and lisbon is getting close to that. Forget HTC, they already get ride of the flyer.....I doubt whether the flyer team exist now.
Ok people time to grow up a bit. I don't get this endless rage against HTC for "ignoring" the Flyer, I really don't. You guys act like you got burned when HTC didn't update the Flyer to ICS, but last I checked they never promised they would. Nobody ever said "Oh yeah buy a Flyer/View, it'll get ICS." If somebody had told you that I'd get the anger, but I seriously doubt they did. So enough with the *****ing, and saying "HTC should be ashamed" crap, it's pointless and worthless. This is yet another thread that has gotten de-railed with it, so unless you guys have something to add to the kickstart effort take it to your own thread or PM or something.

A lot of these guys have been there and done that, look in one of the DrewGaren threads. What's wrong with being a little patient and letting Chaosz-X do his thing? I mean if anyone around here deserves donations it's him.
I love android for allot of reasons. Roms and tweaking was and is a big one. I had a captivate which I loved but I sold it when my company decided to buy me an iPhone and pay my cell bill. I hate iOS and missed android so when best buy reduced the cost on the flyer I jumped on it. The flyer has been a disappointment flashing wise to me (no fault to the developers here, work much appreciated). On the other hand my flyer has paid for itself multiple times over and is used daily for streaming and it's mhl connection.
What I have learned is that I like htc build quality but that their support sucks and that IMO sense is a way too large, bloated, laggy android skin that makes development more of an issue.
Do I regret buying my flyer, no. Would I buy another htc device, unlikely. Do I expect that I will see versions of ics/jelly bean that work for my use, no. I am ok with that now, but the device fell short of my flashing addiction
sense sucks on the flyer because it's not the full sense you get from a phone, it's a special "sense 1.1 for tablets",and honeycomb is laggy naturally, it's pretty much a throw away os google came up with for a better tablet layout and combine sense with that and it's even worse. But honestly I love sense 3.6 on my vivid, theme support, and multiple homescreen layouts make sense great.
I like my flyer honestly. Getting caught up in the update thing can easily make you hate it but we got some good developers here that are working hard to improve it.

+1.
HTC flyer awesome potential - the device IS capable of running ICS. HTC "added value" of HTC sense etc seems to have done a dis-service in terms of future upgrades.
It is ironic that more IOS users can run Chrome than Android. Why ? Cos you need ICS or greater and the HTCs of the world just won't support their products for even 18 - 24 months after release.
18 months is a long time in the tech world, and if I had a tablet that flopped like the Flyer I wouldn't be supporting it either. It's not worth their time or money to get ICS out for it, not when it's perfectly functional as is.
The real question is why did HTC even bother making it. It was more expensive than an ipad, had gingerbread instead of honeycomb, and a single core cpu. And they didnt market it bad, they just didnt market it period. But in hindsight really every android tab that came out at that time failed, mostly due to price. Up until this year the only other android tabs I saw other people have were the nook color and cheap Chinese tablets.
I guess I don't hold it against them for abandoning the Flyer anymore. It is what it is, android came to tablets before it was ready for tablets and failure was inevitable. I'd like to see them try again, maybe a one series tablet with sense 4 and an s pen.

OK, so
I am looking to setup a development team, mainly (for the moment) based around the HTC Flyer. However i am looking to expand this further to other deveices shortly.
I am looking for ALL experience levels, whether it be that you have never developed before and would like to learn to the point where you could develop android from the ground up
I am looking for a truly multi skilled team of developers.
If anyone is interested please let me know, either PM me on XDA or Reply to this thread
ALSO you dont have to want to develop it may be that you can offer Web Hosting etc, any suggetion is helpful so if you want to be involved please mention it

Like i said i am just gotta get back to ya at this point.
A development team is definitely needed for the flyer. Really its what made the difference on the captivate. Instead of one guy trying to figure out everything you had entire teams working on stuff. Faster updates, and hell it had aosp alpha ics before the Nexus even came out! But to be fair that captivate was a lot better seller than the flyer.
That being said we have a lot of great developers here. Instead of everyone working on their own projects I think a merge is needed. We might be able to pull off a pure senseless aosp looking honeycomb if everyone merged their efforts.

Hmmm...well I'll see what I can do when I get home tonight. At the very least I have a couple patches you could use. One of them adds governor's, another schedulers, and I might be able to whip up a quick one on over-clocking, that however would be device(more explicitly processor) specific. We'll see how much time I have here though.

One of them adds governor's, another schedulers, and I might be able to whip up a quick one on over-clocking, that however would be device(more explicitly processor) specific. We'll see how much time I have here though.

The OC thing is not too important but the other 2 patches would be good, if you don't want to release under GPL send me a link to the source and I will release it if you would prefer, that way there is no problems and you don't get hounded about support

Sorry I've been playing with some smali hacks so I haven't booted into my Linux partition recently. Once I do I'll let you know.

I'm not developer - i'm designs related guy. (motion designs actually). Not sure that I can help a lot - but if I can be usefully - give me a shot.
I'm going to try and create a custom honeycomb launcher soon. I got a lot to learn but if it all pans out it'll look like aosp honeycomb and have features like adw and go launched. If I can get past all that and create something I might look into optimizing it for the adreno 205 gpu and that goes well I might see if sense widget support is possible. But for now I'm just going to see what I can create. If I can pull off a working launcher I'll join and let you use it as the official ioidroid launcher

I think people have been trying for Sense widgets for quite a while now. Something about verification/Authentication was the last thing I remember holding them up.
Yeah no promises there. It's about the same across all manufacturers ie touch wiz widgets don't work on adw for example. Really no promises at all yet gonna start small and see if I can get a working launcher first then go from there.
