How do I restore photos from Google+ - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I did a factory reset (before I sent my Tab for the Newton Rings repair). In the past when I did a factory reset I checked the box to do a restore from Google after I log in. Well, that takes a while since it wants to restore about 150 apps. But it also restored all my photos from Google+.
This time, however, I chose not to check that box so it didn't restore those 150 apps. I want to start fresh, as it were.
However, because that box wasn't checked I no longer have my photos from Google+ in my Gallery.
How do I get the photos back on the Tab from Google+ without downloading them one by one? Do I need to redo the factory reset?

Is the wrong audience for this question? Where else should I ask it?

I'd say it's the right place to ask the question, but maybe people simply don't know the answer (I sure don't ).
Would be helpful for other people to post the answer here if you find it somewhere else though
Best of luck in finding your answer!

Rooted Factory Reset

I've got a question I can't find an answer to.
I'm rooted and running the Vanilla ROM, and I'd like to change my primary gmail account on my phone.
Factory Reset seems like the only method, what happens when you factory reset after being rooted?
Can I do a Nand backup of my existing set-up, Factory Reset > reset my mail gmail > restory Nand?
Just curious what will happen if a factory reset is done while running a rooted ROM.
Thanks in advance.
Why not just do a data wipe from the bootloader and then reflash the rom?
Factory reset will reset the phone to where you were when you first loaded the villian rom...so you can put in a different g-mail account but then you will have to set up everything else too...if you do a nand backup before and then restore from your nand it will restore with the current g-mail account that you have on there when you make a backup and not the new one you switched too so if you want to switch your g-mail account you will have to reload all your apps and settings yourself. hope that made sense lol...
Makes perfect sense, thanks greatly.
I figured data wipe would probably be the same thing as factory reset.
No sure if I'm going to do this or not, but I do appreciate the input, and quick response.
Have you tried going into 'Menu > Settings > Accounts & Sync' from your home screen? Then select Google, and remove account, and then add the new one.
Oh, BTW... Hi everyone. Been lurking for a bit, because I have little to offer. But alot to learn. But I will offer when I think I have something worthwhile.
Yep, tried that first actually, unfortunately google/Verizon/my phone, won't allow you to remove the primary account by just deleting it.
Clear data / reflash worked fine though, I'm now set-up with my new gmail account as primary.
Wouldn't really recommend this if you have a ton of paid apps though. Lucky for me I've been cleaning house and getting this rom set up so I'm at minimal apps right now. I did have to repurchase my not-free apps, but that's cool as I only had maybe $10 worth at the most, and half of those I don't even use any longer. I sure theres a way to re-connect your paid apps, but not a huge deal for me.
Thanks again for everyones help,
And welcome chaoss13!

Cant Delete Text messages. even after reset

sooooo yea. haha. I had an issue with my phone but this started a few days before. I would click delete thread, and it would take that thread and delete all the messages but the thread still stays shown up in my messaging with (no subject) as the title. they wont permanently delete. I ended up doing a reset to stock the other day and of coarse, did a titanium backup, I couldnt find the file in titanium backup which backs up all the texts so I could uncheck it. so now theyre all back and its doing the same thing again. wont delete any text message threads.
anyone else ever have this issue?? I've looked all over XDA and cant find anyone else who's posted something similar.
Do you have an app like sms backup+ or an equivilant that restores/backups the sms?
Anytime I flash a rom, or ODIN, all sms are gone. Never heard of someone not able to get rid of them. Almost sounds like something is making them sync back...
haha i know right? I used titanium backup and it synced everything back up to where it was, all settings and contacts popped back up, and text messages. Works like a charm. and it deffinitely wiped everything. but I was having this problem before that anyways. and now after the reset, I am still having this darn issue haha. Its beyond me, and as far as I've looked around here in XDA, no one else seems to have this issue, with any android device for that matter
edit: forgot to mention. no I dont have SMS backup or anything. just regular stock texting app
UPDATE: I was looking further into this, all text threads that I delete show up underneath the other on the thread list and are showing as "Dec 31st, 1969"
And again, whenever I try to delete a thread, It will delete all the text messages within it, but the thread remains at the bottom of the list and shows "(no subject)"
something is wrong here haha
could it be the kernel I placed on here? I put on the Voodoo KA7 stock kernel from here ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870480

[Q] delete messages

Hi Guys
Im just get a samsung galaxy s2 this week and am having a small problem.
Ive looked around for answers but cant find any. Ive just remembered how helpful this site was a when I had my HD2 so thought id ask here.
The problem im having is deleting messages. In the messaging app you can press and hold on a thread then a box comes up asking if you want to delete. I hit yes and all the messages go but it leaves behind the empt thread to that contact. Ive tried deleting through thr menu, hand sent and clearing the data and catch from manage apps menu but noth seems do get rif of the empty threads. Any one had this problem too?
no problems here i hit the delete thread and it deletes
Just done a factory reset and the threads have gone. sent some new messages to test it and right back to the begining again. New threads wont delete. Only the messages inside the threads delete and the contact is left in the message app. Please any help would be great. Im tempted to take it back to the shop and get a new one.
maybe some thing in settings i carnt even replicate ur problem
Well I took it back to the shop and they gave me a new phone which worked fine. It wasnt untill I used backup pro to re load my apps and data that I noticed it was happening again. Must be somthing to do with this. After another factory reset and not using backup pro everything seems to be working fine.

[Q] Restoring

I was wondering if there was a way to restore a backup from cmw to a different tablet and then clear all the setting that have personal information attached to it. I am using CM7 alpha 12 and my friend likes the way my tablet is setup, so I made a backup then restored to his table with no problem. I tried clearing setting through cwm like I was preparing to boot to a new rom, but all my info is still there. I know I am just missing something simple, but I just can't figure it out. Thanks in advance for any help and forgive me if this has been asked before, I tried to search, but couldn't find anything regarding doing it with the Nook.

Thanks, I knew it had to be something simple. I assume that this file will regenerate when the new account is setup. The only other thing that I was wondering about would be the mac address since I know this was a issue with the first cm7 release, but I didn't think since it would be just one person that it would cause any issues. Would this be a true statement.

Two Questions... Phone book & App Backup

I I was wondering if there are any programs where I could do GREAT backups.
Mainly 1 for phonebook, so that I can safely copy all my contacts and modify them from the computer. I have like 300 numbers but want to erase 200 of them while still having them on computer if I need them. I can't find a reliable app to do this so am wondering if anyone has any experiences in it.
The 2nd backup I'm looking for is an APP one. It doesn't hve to necessarily backup the apps, but at least be able to queue all of them I want RE-installed and download them all from the google play store or something. I want to get into flashing ROMS, but I have like 7 pages of apps already that I don't want to lose, as I'm still sorting through trying to find the ones that work best for me so I can remove all the extras.
First off, I think these could've been answered by searching, so please do that in the future.
If your contacts are stored as Google contacts (as they should be), you can edit them from GMail. On the top left corner of the page, there is a menu that says "GMail." Click it and select "Contacts." I've found this to be the easiest way. It'll also always backup your contacts, and you can restore old versions of your contact list if you need to do so. (Since you talk about wanting to delete them from the phone, but keep a record of them, if you delete them from GMail and remember the date when you had them all in there, you can always restore it back to that date and they'll all be back.)
Also, from the People app, you can go to Menu -> Manage Contacts, and export the data.
Regarding backing up apps, this is the main reason I don't think you've done any research at all. There's a very-well-talked-about app called Titanium Backup that will backup and restore every app on your phone. You have to buy the key for it to restore all of them without your involvement--the free version requires you to give permissions to install each app.
First off, I did search prior to asking the question and could not find what I was looking for. There is no need to be rude, as searching was obviously the first step anyone would or at least SHOULD take before asking such a question.
As for your replies, I have chosen sync in my contacts, but they will not show up in Google for some reason. I've tried tons of ways, and it shows like it is syncing, but when I check... nothing there. I don't know if something is wrong in my settings or what, but I've tried many times... it just won't work for me for some reason. Maybe it's because I have 6 google accounts attached to phone, and even though I'm only syncing 1, it is mixing them up or something.
And I already have Titanium Backup, it keeps crashing on my phone for some reason, which is why I was looking for an alternative. I have over 300 apps on my phone right now. I know that's horrid, but I downloaded a ton of them for the same things so I can test them and find the ones I liked best, in which I plan to mark them all, re-flash the phone with whatever ROM (later once full rooting with S-off and everything has been tested more thoroughly), and only install those apps I liked, which should bring it down to maybe 100 apps or so.
I do understand I might SEEM like I didn't search, but trust me... I did.
Anyways, I thank you for your response (both the neg and the pos), and your time was greatly appreciated. I am about to toy with my settings and see if something is blocking the sync or something. I didn't know you could export from the people app though, so thanks for that especially.
UPDATE:
Man, thanks! That export feature is NICE! going to see how easy it is to modify it shortly, hopefully it's readable in Excel.
Regarding Titanium Backup, you are rooted and have granted Titanium Backup superuser permissions, correct?
Yes, I used that 1 click .bat file (from the first method that was shown). I think my superuser app was corrupt, so I re-downloaded it and it's working fine now. Thank you.

I ran into an issue with TB when I tried restoring from my OG EVO. I am rooted in the EVOLTE but not running a custom ROM. the ROM I was running was deodexed. Stock EVOLTE is not so I was unsuccessful in my restore. I bought mybackup pro and WA able to restore SMS and .MMS this way. Not sure I'd you are having the same issues or not though
Sent from my EVO using XDA
I agree, all contacts should be on google...then theres no worry about backups (ive had 3 android phones and a tablet and they all auto sync the contacts instantly).
Editing them on the computer is a breeze, the duplicate find/merge feature is simple and works very well.
What exactly are you all doing to make them sync though?
I went to Accounts & Sync
> selected the one GMAIL that I want the numbers synced to and hit sync now, but it doesn't do anything.
