Hi everyone, I know this may have been asked before somewhere and I'm sure a senior member will bash my head in verbally for not putting this in the right place or for asking at all. But here's my question anyways:
Where is the best place to get updates and/or news on when Cyanogenmod 9's official release will be avialble for the SG II? I have tried the experimental build that Codeworkx made available and he did an amazing job with it but I had major issues with the video functionality as per the changelog information.
I'm not complaining about the work or build, it's a process I know that. I've just decided to wait for an official release. And with that in mind I just want to keep up on when it comes out or is about to come out.
If anyone can point me in the right direction or can help me out that would be great. And if I've violated any rules with this question I apologize, I promise I searched every forum for the answer and came up short.
Thanks in advance

Welcome aboard!
There is something that you can do, since there already is a new forum for the Skyrocket
phones perhaps you can guide all the Skyrocket people and threads to the Skyrocket forum
so we do not have close to 1/2 of the threads & posts here dealing with the Skyrocket phone.
Thanks in advance!
Thank you for taking the time to keep an eye on things in this forum. The Infuse forum was "cranky", to say the least. Not much drama in this forum. I hope it stays that way

Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself, I'm new in this forum, my nexus S got stolen and my ATTSGS2 is comming all the way from Illinoi to Costa Rica... I will hopefully get it some time between dec 10th and 15th! Nice to "know" you and everyone. Greetings and happy holidays to the whole forum n_n.
Could someone put this in the unnamed thread because I dont feel like posting crap 10 times with 5 mins inbetween just to tell gtg465x that:
1: half of the notification ringtones are louder than the other half
2: when you flash CRT screen off animation update, it breaks Ice Cream Sandwich animations.
Thank you
not a noob
Good one "Austin".
Love those movies.
Red, Entropy's kernel thread needs some serious cleaning up. I don't mean to be a prick but the development board is for people that have A) read everything relevant to the thread they're posting in and B) are educated in whatever they are posting about in the relevant thread and C) aren't asking for stuff for different phones (ie ROMs and kernels).
Entropy and GTX's threads are clusterfucks right now with people whining, not posting helpful stuff for the developers, rather just saying "mah device ain't working right!" and other such crap. I think the devs want a helpful community, not a bunch of whiners.
Thanks.

Hello all!
I recently joined the Android ranks after being an iPhone user for years. I love the community here and the SGS2 is a serious beast. I have no regrets leaving the bosom of Jobs
Hi everyone,
I am a galaxy fit s5670 user, running android 2.3.4
Unfortunately, samsung won't be officially releasing ics for my device...
But the whole of galaxy fit users on xda are really hoping that some devs would try and port this for our device...we had personally contacted a lot of devs for this, but none seem to be up for the challenge...
Another phone, samsung galaxy min s5570, which comes really close to our device in terms of hardware has devs attempting it, but the few devs we have for our device are busy due to their own reasons...
So, I want to ask all the knowledgeable devs out there, can you PLEASE port this for our device???
You will also find many testers for your alpha and beta version of the rom, who would readily take the risk, and give you feedback/bug reports also...
Also, even if you can just port some other roms, that would also be appreciated...
Head on over to the device forum and make an announcement, if you are willing to attempt this poet!!!
Help in making android an enjoyable experience for all...merry christmas, in advance

Sorry didn't know about that...thought that it should come under software development coz we needed devs...so thank you for moving it to the correct sub-forum...
Umm, on a different note, are you a dev???
And, ppl have started trying to port ics to my device...but still others are encouraged to make/port roms for this device...
m with you
Just look at the overwhelming positive response that this thread has received so far...
Hello People,
I have a keen interest in Android and ROMs etc but no programming or development knowledge, just an interest. I've rooted and put a couple of different ROMs on my old HTC Desire thanks to XDA and its community of developers and will do the same with my SGT10.1 as soon as ICS is stable and has a working camera .... Thank you all!
What I'd like to know is what's different between Google releasing ICS and say Microsoft releasing Windows 7? Why can't I go to a shop or website, purchase or download ICS and install it on my device in a similar fashion to installing a new OS on my PC?
It seems to the ignorant (me) that they make life very difficult for the devs on this site and others! I appreciate that this is probably a stupid question, but I would really be grateful for someone to take a min to explain, for example, what happens after the developers get a copy for the ICS open source code and before they/you grace us with a stable build for a device? Why is the completed ICS from Google not suitable to simply install? One reason that comes to mind is device drivers! Maybe I've just answered my own question!!!
Again, thanks for all the hard work ... whatever it is?
Not meant to sound rude, but do you really want to wait a few years between gingerbread and ice cream sandwich, pay a ridiculous amount for it, and still have to update it almost constantly?
The difference is Microsoft and generous developers.
Microsoft makes millions.
Android open source developers get self satisfaction and other things, but very little, if anything, in monetary payment (donations).
I know Google is a huge money corporation, but I would hate to see things go the way Microsoft does things in regards to operating systems software.
There are many technical reasons related to the many thousands of different devices, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to comment, so I'll leave that to someone else who is.
Actually, I think you did your own question.

I wanted to know has CJJames released any beta or something for OpenPhone 7 Project which he promised that he will do it on Friday. Today is Saturday. Admin why not ban him for lying again and again and collecting the Thanks by opening various Coming Soon threads .
If he really had something to show he will open new account and give us the ROM.
Regards,
i was just about to make a thread regarding this..
All his threads are closed as of now, he hasn't released anything yet and we are here to ban him if he does something like that again. Already warned him about it.
No need to create new thread for this! Thanks!
Before I start I just wanna say that I know it's rude, and not to mention probably very annoying to the developers to ask about updates, so I would like to apologize but I have to ask, is there any info on a new update for Snapprefs? The latest update was released on December 26th 2016 and only supports snapchat version 9.39.5.0 which is pretty old.
So I was wondering if anyone knows if there will be an update any time soon, or if there will even ever be another one in the future?
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Aside from the fact that as you said ETAs are rude, it would serve you best to read the thread since it was closed for a reason: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/app-snapprefs-ultimate-snapchat-utility-t2947254
