Wifi password gegroet? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Ata site I frequently visit there is a policy which changed the wifi network password frequantly and then my device needs to forget the old network and add the network again to enter the new actual password.
I have been looking on the internet if there isa smarter way to do this but cannot find a smart way, any suggestions here?

No GPRS authentication T-mobile

I use a T-mobile ppc with a Swedish device carrier. Everything works fine except for the internet. I entered all the right information. But I won't get connected. An additional problem is that T-mobile has removed the GPRS authentication module. So I don't know how to investigate those settings. Does annybody have a answer to that?
You mean that it won't ask for a username/password when you create a new GPRS connection? If so, why don't you load the SE ROM then? It will ask you for authentication when you create a new connection.
Thanks for your response Carlos. Yes it asks for username and password and it tries to connect but then it either stops with no connection or asks me once again to enter the user name and password.
I wonder if I need the GPRS authentication module to know if the pap settings is used?
Don't get confused. I posted my question as guest Diderikus, but am a member now and use the name Andreas. Both are my names.
Well, I finally dare upgrading to SE ROM and my XDA works better than ever with good Internet Connection, thanks guys.

GRPS connections...

how do i configure the xda to ask me before making a connection to the internet using GRPS settings.
using cooked rom 4.00.5 i have configured the xda to be able to connect/send sms using the ATT network but dont want some other programs to connect to the web till i tell them to...
Try using a User ID but leave the password blank if one is needed to connect, then upon connection it should ask for a password.

How to enable HTTP proxy to all applications?

I'm using a 3G data connection that requires a http proxy.
So... I've defined a proper APN with proxy.
Browser is the only program that I can use with this connection (only page view, no download). All the rest application that need an internet connection simply doesn't work.. nothing. Even the download from the browser doesn't work.
I've tried with another APN that's not using a proxy and works. Also with WiFi is ok.
So, my question is: it is posible to enable http proxy in ALL programs? I had no problem on Symbian or Windows Mobile..
This is by no means a definite answer, but in your APN, try adjusting the "APN type" setting. On Telus, it's: default, mms
From what I understand you can try a combination of those two settings, or set it to nothing. See what results you get.
Thanks for the reply
Unfortunately no change.
While it's not the response you were hoping for, since no one else has responded, I would contact my provider if I were in your position. See if they can offer any insight. Good luck!
Thanks but my provider cannot do anything. I've used this connection on other platforms without problem (windows mobile, symbian).
The problem is that application take just the apn without proxy details.. Only the browser is using the proxy
It seems that's an Android issue ..
You may star this issue:

so maybe google will understand the importance of this feature.. i'm still wondering why it's not implemented as it should..

[Q] Changing Wifi network profile

Hi all,
My company uses their wifi netwok with 802.1, PEAP, and active directory username and a password. When configuring in laptop initially it will show only as a wep. Later we used change the network profile in th settings. but i could able to see my company wifi network in my x10 as a wep connection only. Is there any app that we can change the network profile which is listed when scanning????
I tried with manually adding also, but didn't worked. Pls help me in configuring this.
Thanks in advance....
Anybody can help????
Or it can be like this. Exporting the wireless settings from Laptop or pc and importing to the Mobile......
when you try to "add wifi network" on phone, under security options, you should see 802.1x EAP. Hope that helps
