Ph98img? - HTC Rezound

I can not load into hboot, when I do, it reads the sd card and then asks me if I want to update. ph98img is on my sd card and if I am not mistaking that is whats causing the update? What do I do to be able to boot into hboot? Can I just change the name of that file, or do I even need that file? I am not running ics, have cwm recovery, and ziggys kernel running at 1.86.
Any info is greatly appreciated (I am not tech savvy at all)
Thanks

I ran into this as well a week or so ago. I pulled my sd card out and put it into my Incredible and deleted the ph98img file. I then put the sd back into my Rezound and then you can once again boot into hboot.

This.
Also, if you don't have another device to put the device in, you can just take the sdcard, put what you were gonna flash on internal storage, then flash that way. Once your phone is functional you can then put the sdcard in and delete the file.

Or... You could just "adb reboot recovery" and turn on mount SD Card.

Thanks for the answers. I just deleted it off my sd card, will it change how things are running or hurt something, I saved it to my desktop in case I fouled something up. It will now let me into hboot though.

You don't need it on the sdcard at all after it updates. It's fine to keep it off. It won't mess anything up.
EDIT: Make sure you hit the thanks button on the posts above you for helping!! I don't need the thanks for this little post, but it's good to show those guys that you appreciate the help!

Cannot delete PH98IMG

Ok, I got my refurb phone, unlocked and now I am trying to unstall amon ra. I put it on the root of my sd card, get into Hboot, the green writing scrolls up, and thats it. There is no option to update it.
I thought maybe I should try again, I can't delete the PH file from my sd card....there is no option. odd.
Do I out the .zip after PH98IMG? or leave it without .zip? Maybe thats my problem. But right now, I can't even get the file off the sd card to try again.
Any help would be great!
Thanks
EDIT.....Im an idiot! I was using a card adapter and the lock was on!
EDIT 2.....PH98IMG worked fine

[Q] Dual Boot Help

I've searched and i haven't. Really found anything explaining how to dual boot the nt. I have already rooted it internally using this method. But I'm not 100% sure how to dual boot. Any help and explanations are appreciated.
Which two ROMs do you want to dual boot?
I would like to use my cm9 and cm7. But stock nt would be fine too.
You can do CM9/CM7. However, you must flash CM9 internal and run CM7 from SD.
So firstly, go ahead and flash the latest CM9 normally using CWM.
Then write the CM7 SD Version .img to your SD card. After that's done, go to the first partition of your SD card and replace the flashing_boot.img with Cyanoboot's flashing_boot.img.
That way, when you boot with the SD in your NT, you have access to the Cyanoboot boot loader and can choose which ROM you want to run.
At least, this is the way I did it, and it has worked for me since the CM9 release.
Thank you so much. This is a huge help!!
No problem. Report back if you have any issues.
I wrote the image to sd card, then it formated, where do i download cynoboot bootloader? And where is the file i need to replace? Sorry, ive never done any of this before.
would it be a similar process to do 1.4.x and CM7 or CM9
I'm guessing yes, as long as you can burn img to sd card. I got cynoboot. But now it says that i have bad boot image magic (in memory) it wont let me boot.

What did you mean here? "then it formatted"
After i burn the sdcard it tells me. To format it. Ill retry the burn then i wont format and see what happens

By formatting, you might have erased the data on the boot partition of the SD card.
Moral of the story: Never trust Windows. It's always trying to mess up what you're actually trying to do.
When I don't format my nook says the card is damaged. Thanks for your help buddy. I'll just start trying to fix the problems I've found in cm9. Thanks.

Okay. I'm not sure why it wants you to format. It shouldn't need you to do anymore more to the card. Oh well.

FIX - Corrupt SD card from S-Off

I skimmed through the general thread and FAQ and couldn't find anything on this, so I figured I'd post this!
I didn't have a smaller SD card and figured nothing bad could happen, so just used my 32GB SD card and it boinked out. Thought it was done for...until today! Here's how I got it to work.
1. Make sure you have your SD card in your phone.
2. Boot into your recovery (I used TWRP and haven't tested this on Amon Ra.)
3. Mount your USB storage and go to "My Computer" to view your storage drives.
4. Your SD card should pop up as a Removable Disk that has no info. Simply format the drive, reboot into your ROM, and bam! Fully working SD card
If anyone can test this in Amon Ra and let me know if it worked, be much appreciated, thanks!
easiest way is this:
do your s-off. boot into amon ra. goto the options and format the SD card right then and there.
you're supposed to always format the card right after S-oFF, or else the slot tends to not work right or something. this is pretty much why they said to try to use an extra backup card instead of using your own personal one, so ya don't have to lose everythin
Whoops, just realized I posted this to development lol. Sorry to any mod, if you could please move it.

I couldn't even get S-Off to work, lol. I tried for about 30 minutes and ended up with a "dead" SD card. My recovery didn't even see my SD card, I just mounted my USB storage for S&Gs to see what would happen.
Something I find that really helps as well is to make sure you don't flash the Gingerbread hboot when using the S-OFF program. I didn't think it would, but it did manage to give me SD card issues until I flashed a proper ICS hboot.
I'm only mentioning this because after I S-OFFed and got the SD card issues, formatting it did nothing at all to fix the problem. Only after I got the right hboot did everything finally start working again.

I didn't even get that far lol. S-Off didn't work and my SD card was a dud afterwards. my computer would see the drive, but wouldn't do anything with it. My phone just said "blank SD card" and couldn't format.

The method I posted. Just went into recovery, mounted USB storage and formatted my card from Windows. The only downside is that formatting can ruin an SD card...but it's not much to worry about if the card isn't working, anyway =p

formatting can ruin an SD Card? please elaborate. i format SD cards all the time.
I've had a few where the format went "bad" due to some reason and rendered the SD card completely useless. Same has happened to a few people I know and have read of the issue before. I didn't mean that to say "Formatting your SD card enough will ruin it" lol.
*EDIT* I wish I knew about that insurance you talk about in your sig when I bought my phone

I just unmounted mine in Android and formatted it with Windoze. Then I formatted it again in Android. I've corrupted SD Cards all kinds of ways. It's real easy to do if you get stupid with the overclocking/undervolting. I've formatted the 32 gig I first got for my BlackBerry 9630 a few dozen times. It's still as reliable as any other SD Card I have. Better than some, in fact. The only real good way to format a solid state memory device is to write zeros to it. If not, NAND (which your SD Card is) device write cycles can take twice as long.
guys i tried all the format methods listed above still no luck, windows states its a raw format with 0 mb available

I had to download a program that was made just for formatting SD cards. Once I used that it formatted the card fine but windows and my phone would not.

[Q] Bootloop after Wipe ALL Data System Restore - HELP!

I was in the process of upgrading my Rezound from Scott's GB CleanRom to the ICS version, and accidentally downloaded the files to my internal card instead of the external sdcard. I didn't realize this before I rebooted into recovery selected "Wipe ALL data/factory reset." Because I'm dumb, I didn't do a Nandroid backup before doing this. Now when I try to reboot to get the files in the right place, I'm stuck in a boot loop.
I tried pushing the files from my computer to sd card via adb, but despite it appearing to work, the files never show up.
Is there anything I can do to get it to boot up once without doing a manual reinstall of everything through adb? Any other ideas? Would really appreciate the help, and sorry if this is answered elsewhere, I really did look around.
Use a card reader to put the files on from your PC. They should be in the right place then.

This. Just use the computer as an intermediary to drag from internal sd to computer to regular sd or just mount your sd card and re download. No need for adb commands; drag and drop should work sufficiently

Rezound wont let me get into fastboot mode

Check out the video.

It goes straight to HBOOT update. I have tried many times to boot into fastboot it will
L not let me. Frustrated. This phone give me so many problems.
Can't watch the video (set to private), but you probably have a PH98IMG.zip on the root of your external sd card that needs to be removed.

This. Either boot up the phone and delete the PH98IMG.zip off of your SD card using Astro or your file manager of choice or pop the SD card in your computer and delete it that way.

Thanks very much. Ill try this. I know that file is there. Will remove it and hope it works.
