Not work
I've tried friend but unfortunately did not work. I suspect that the phone is not locked but for some other reason is not working with other carriers. Could it be somehow related to the frequency band? Please help me! hugs

Carrier requires the correct APN settings to be put in the phone for that mobile network .
Auto network APN is via CSC and that is a list of local networks and their settings .
Either enter settings manually or try a different CSC .
Stock Roms .and csc
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Modems can also be changed but you should check is Brazil on its own non international network .

GT-I9100 is a global phone, so it's not the frequency.

[Q] CSC change???

Hi
I'm not sure if this has already been answered on here so please forgive me for asking again if it has,
I bought a samsung galaxy S3 in the UK, and I am going to South Africa next week and wanted to give the phone to my sister, was wondering how to change the csc from UK to the South African network.
I will explain, when I bought the phone, it is a 3 network mobile, I put my vodafone sim card in and it said "sim unlock pin"
I rooted the phone, bought the voodoo unlocking software and it seemed to do the trick, so now when i put my vodafone sim card in, it doesnt ask for a sim unlock pin anymore, and if i go and look in my available networks i see a whole load of networks for example the list looks like this
Vodafone UK(3G)
current network
vodafone UK(2G)
Available Network
T-Mobile Uk(3G)
Forbidden Network
and so on,the list goes on, i only have Orange that also says available network, the rest say forbidden network.
When I type *#726#and my imei number, press the dial button, it doesn't do anything but comes back and says "not registered on network"
Can anyone please help me??
Thanks in advance

you can't change csc in a single csc rom! it works only in multi csc roms!
i think you have to change rom to have network working properly...
You need to flash a rom from south africa (just look up sammobile.com for the fitting file) in order to choose an south african CSC the way it is mentioned above.
By the way:
You said, you used voodoo sim unlock? After flashing one of the incmoing Jelly Bean Roms the Simlock might be active again!
Voodoo doesn't work on JB Roms.
You might want to simunlock you're phone using this method again: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846451
Good luck

[Q] unlocked but branded O2, using Tesco sim

Sorry I'm another noob to android.
I have an unlocked but branded O2 GT-I9100, I am trying to use a Tesco sim, everything works apart from the mobile internet. I have manually set up the Tesco APN on numerous occaisions but still can't it. When I put an O2 sim in, everything works perfectly.! I have tried vodafone sim and it's the same as Tesco. It seems like the firmware is somehow blocking anything but O2 from accessing the data connection. Is there an easy soloution.? thanks
model : GT-I9100
Android version: 4.0.3
Baseband version: I9100XXLPW
Kernal version: 3.0.15-I9100XWLD-CL524746 [email protected]#3
Build number: IML74K.XWLPD
Remove all APN's. Add only the Tesco APN, ensuring you choose 'default' as APN type. Reboot. Check to ensure the Tesco APN hasn't gone away after you've rebooted. Test.
If you've already done the above, I'm tipping the phone's locked (it does sound that way from the details in your post; you're having the same problem with two sims/different carriers).
O2 phones are meant to be unlocked anyhow....same as unbranded.
Can you confirm youve had the phone since new.
It shouldn't matter if the phone is locked or not as Tesco use o2s masts and so the phone won't know the difference
If voice calls work then presumably that proves the phone is unlocked and it is therefore most likely to be an APN settings issue?
I use a GiffGaff SIM in an unlocked SII GT-I9100 which operates in the same way as Tesco (both run as 'virtual operators' on the O2 network). Once the GiffGaff APN settings are applied the data connection works fine for me.
Maybe you can post the exact settings you're using for your Tesco APN configuration and someone can take a look at them.
Alternatively, are there any apps that help with APN settings? Tweakker, for example, claims to cover Tesco Mobile so might help. Note that there is a separate "Tweakker ICS APN Beta" for Android 4.x devices.

Thank You All for replying, I have fixed the problem. I have de-branded O2 from the phone and the APN is now working on all networks
using Odin3
Firmware: I9100XWKF1
Andriod Version: v4.0.3
By 'debranding' do you mean you flashed a different rom/CSC or simply removed all the guff/apps carriers put in their stock roms ?
Edit - Glad you got it sorted BTW

I Flashed the firmware and now it's like straight from the factory.. lol
Which firmware (I.E which carrier's stock rom or was it unbranded UK, or something else entirely ?) single file in PDA section of Odin or multi-part ? Reason I'm asking is if someone else has a similar problem, your solution might give them some clues as to how to fix it if we know exactly what you did.
This is what I did

I googled the problem, and found a website that de-brands, even tho I could probably find the software for free, I bought it (£9.99) and followed the instructions :
C:\Program Files (x86)\FoneFunShop i9100 Debrand Pack\Guide\I9100_Guide.html
Hope someone finds this useful

This is unbranded for UK

Help with SIM lock!

Hi I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 by Three Mobile UK. I had got it unlocked from a nearby cellphone shop. It was running perfectly until now on Indian GSM network with original unrooted rom 2.3 gingerbread. But today I flashed Neatrom lite onto it and it is asking me to input the SIM lock code.
I have tried all the apps on market to get the code but all in vain. So please tell if there is a method to bypass this lock as I have a rooted phone.

Be aware that using sim unlock apps can corrupt your IMEI. Backup your efs folder.
Regarding the SIM lock - flash the correct stock ROM for your region (check region code i.e. i9100DBTLPO is germany).

[Q] Galaxy i9300 || Unable to Network/SIM Unlock

I have seen a number of questions that are simular to this, but I have not been abe to find one that is like mine, therefore I am posting this.
I have a Galaxy S3 International version that was bought from Digicel Jamaica. It is completely paid for, I called Digicel to ask the for a unlock code. they informed me that they do not do that and I would have to go and get it professionally unlocked. the reason I want it unlocked is that I not longer live in Jamaica, but now live in the US and would like to use the phone for the next couple of months until I can get a phone on contract.
I have tried everything I have seen on this site, including getting a unlock key. nothing works.
I upgraded the phone 4.3 sometime ago and have also rooted it in the pass.
Whenever I try the *#197328640# , after [6] Network Lock I get no menu options see .
PLEASE HELP ME :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:
I have also tried using RegionLock Away and Galaxsim Unlock, both tell me my phone is unlocked, but I still can't use another sim in the phone.
PS. I am using a T-Mobile Sim from straight talk
You can't region unlock on 4.3 at all, sim lock is possible but only if you buy a valid code -there is no other way and your posts are identical to hundreds of others.

I have a valid code, but the SIM unlock doesn't work with the code. I have tried everything I have seen online, downgraded to 4.1.1, replaced the stock 4.1.2 that came with the phone.... nothing works

how to find which carrier is my phone locked to

I have a samsung S2 (GT-I9100), I was using it in my country (Tunisia) for years, then i went to belgium, and bought a sim from there, and it also was working well. When i went to back to tunisia, I tried to update my android (with the Belgian SIM on) version from 4.0.3 to 4.1.2, but the device got locked! each time it asks me for the network sim pin. How can this happen? the device was not bought from an operator. And my main question is how can i find out which operator locked my phone, so i can ask them for a PIN?
Thank you
