just open the prime in the box, it had one single update, which brings the firmware to latest 9.4.2.11.
however, after the major update, I got notification "Camera Firmware update is available", I started the update, it shows "Camera Firmware updating", and progress bar won't move at all, couple seconds later, a window pops up saying: "Camera Firmware Update Error".
I tried rebooting 2 times, tried Factory Reset.
I was going to try reverting back to 8.8.3.33, I downloaded the 318MB zip file, but don't know how to apply the damn zip file.
Could the problem be because the latest Firmware is installed, and Camera Firmware can't be installed from that?
anyone know what might be going on? and how do i apply a update .zip file?
Wanted to bump this up I am having same issue, everything else is flawless, really hate to return but I do need to occasionally use the camera. My camera version is TF201-0xFFFFFF, I am getting a notice of firmware update but it will not apply.
I have tried factory reset, I applied the newest 11.1 build and still no change. I have a few weeks yet before my return window is up, hoping a solution is discovered.
Latest cam version should be 0x9900

Ya I saw that that was the latest version, but it will not install through the ASUS update. It just keeps saying that the update failed and would I like to retry. I was hoping someone found a solution to that as I have retried numerous time with no success. Maybe the ability to download the latest camera firmware and update manually somehow.

You can do that from Asus website. Manually install from website on a PC to the prime.

I did that with the latest firmware they have posted which is Version V9.4.2.7(US) but after it completed I got the notification to update camera firmware. Since there is no separate camera firmware listed on their site I cannot do that for the camera. I then did the OTA to 9.4.2.11 hoping that would fix it but nope. Then I applied 9.4.2.11.1 and still have same camera version and every time I reboot I get the notification that there is a new camera firmware update. However it will not download or install it just fails with an error message saying it failed would I like to try again.
My front camera works through Gtalk, back camera displays crazy green screen. Camera app will not run it says I must install firmware update. I imagine if I can get the new firmware on my device it will solve the problem, but alas I cannot get the camera firmware to download.
Same problem update camera firmware
Hello,
I have the same problem relating to the camera firmware. When I look to 'my tablet' it's also the version TF201-0xFFFFFF. I was wondering if you've found a solution and what solution that may be
Thanks for any answer!
I ended up returning my prime to Amazon and getting a new one as ASUS wanted me to send it in for repair. If that is not an option for you then you will need to do a go through ASUS for repair.
Thanks for the response. Going back to the retailer where i bought it. sigh

Camera quit on mine. GPS also went out. I tried the factory reset as instructed by tech support. Ended up returning for repair. I'll have it back in about two weeks.

Hi. I have a rooted TF201 on the 9.4.2.11 firmware version. Whenever I try updating OTA, it successfully downloads the file, then reboots, but once in reboot, after a couple of seconds, I keep getting the picture of andy on his back with his front hing opened and a red triangle with a ! When I reboot, it says it was unable to update firmware. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have tried wiping all my data as well as doing the OTA on root and without root but so still no luck. I even tried downloading the update file from Asus online and extracting the zip on the root of my sdcard and still no luck. Any ideas? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks.
****Also, I included a screen shot of the system settings so you can see exactly what I'm on.

Just figured it out. I restored the original launcher and system.ui apks; I had replaced them with the themed one. Once I restored the original files, the OTA worked perfectly!
Hi all,
My first post and i've searched extensively for answers but nothing has helped!
I have a prime - for nearly 2 months now, as soon as I got it I updated to ICS then updated one more time to 9.4.2.11.
I've now not been able to update OTA to .14 and now not even the .15 update that's available. I've tried manually updating which always ends up with the android laying down with the explanation mark above him.
I did root my system - it's not unlocked (yet) which is another thing - tonight after not being able to update manually or OTA i tried unlocking to use the new ROM available - but again no luck as the unlock tool keeps telling me that it failed to unlock, please try again later... I've tried...
- Unrooting
- Factory resetting
- Updating manually
Would appreciate any light on the problems i'm having...
Have you modified any system files or deleted any stock apps that comes with the prime? If so that is your issue. You need to have all the stock system files and apps in place or OTA will not update.
Hi,
Yep i've now re-installed the present rom from Asus .11 to completly restore my system and i'm finally updated to .15.
In regards to unlocking my system - still getting the "failed to unlock" message...

Looks like it's an issue on asus side. Lots of people having this issue today.
My situation:
.28 Rooted (not unlocked) with a few tweaks such as keyboard and browser2ram.
Tried to JB update via OTA and manual method and got red andy.
Said screw it, took the factory .28 image from asus and loaded it onto my tablet before and after doing a factory reset/data wipe.
So I'm now completely stock and when I check for updates it says not found.
Tried clearing DM and CM CLient as well as cold booting linux [Pow + Vol Dn] and still says "no update found"
So is the WW JB Update still avail or did asus pull it?
Thanks
I'm having the same problem. Can anyone confirm that they have successfully downloaded the JB update OTA in the last few hours?
Happened to me as well, i think after you got red andy once you dont get the ota anymore. I went ahead and used manual upgrade method.

Same problem here. Rooted, locked, stock.
Had the notification bar give me the JB update once, that install failed.
I then checked the f/w update manually, found it, redownloaded it, that install failed.
Now I can no longer get the update via the f/w update checker. (tried many times last night and this morning)
Clouds... is the JB update available to be installed manually? Can you point me in the right direction?

I think the files you want are linked here, but they take an age to download:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1909820
I had a completely stock ICS .28 and got a dead droid (DMClient error). I manually downloaded the .28 from asus put it on a micro sd and it found this on reboot and installed OK. Now I am watching the green bar slooooowwwwwlly download the WW rom. The file has no extension, so I can't tell yet whether it is a blob file or the required zip.

Well, I just finished downloading that file, and whatever it is, and I renamed it as a zip (which it is) and my TFP ignored it. Maybe it needs a specific name to work.
The many of us for which the OTA failed will have to wait for Asus to list the files on their download site.

Alrighty, thanks.
This is the first time I've had any issues with updates, so was/am hesitant to dive in with the suggested workarounds posted in various places... don't know enough about the whole 'adb shell' stuff, etc, and don't want to make things worse.
I'm assuming that manually updating is relatively simple once Asus provides the files.

Hi
I had the same problem with the move from Honeycomb to ICS. The OTA would not do it and I got the red/dead droid. I have tried EVERY method to get Jelly Bean. The first attempt was OTA, and this loaded the file and tried to update but failed. Before I did it I back up root and unrooted. I have made no changes to the core system files. I have tried each method posted and none work. It goes straight to a dead driod. I re-installed .28 from the Asus site and still it would not work.
I shall have to wait until Asus decide that those like me 'deserve' JB and post the manual update files on the download page:
http://www.asus.com/Eee/Eee_Pad/Eee_Pad_Transformer_Prime_TF201/#download
Indeed.
Once the update is available there, is a pretty straight forward process? Or does it still require terminal commands, etc?
glad to see i'm not the only one.
Guess i'll have to wait for Asus to post the JB files.
after hearing about some of the bricks I'm patient enough to wait a few more days.
ok my s4 currently is stock MI1
it was ME7 rooted with SS i never deleted any apps i just disabled them through app info never altered any system info
now would that mess up my binary count
when i updated to MI1 all i did was plug my phone into my mac and used kies to update it didn't go back to stock
would that take it back to 100% stock or would it be some kind of unofficial version
in odin mode it says official i don't get the custom padlock in my boot loader
ok my problem is every time i try and find the 4.3 update it says "Software update is temporarily unavailable. Try again Later"
i plug it into kies and it says that I'm on the most up to date firmware and when i use that verizon upgrade assistant thing the update/repair button can't be clicked and i got a message one time saying my firmware doesn't support updates or something along those lines
my problem is I'm on a mac so no odin does anyone have any ideas to what i could do to fix this
would mobile odin work or no
bump

Not really sure what you think anyone here can do for you. It looks like a network problem. Maybe try contacting Verizon?

I'm just curious if updating through kies like i did send me back to 100% stock because that verizon back up assistant said my firmware doesn't support updates
Yeah, I had the exact same issue with the OTA. I did some reading around and the only fix I seemed to find was to go to a Verizon store and have them swap out your sim card. It worked for me...as soon as they swapped out the sim and rebooted my phone it instantly started downloading the OTA updated.
I read somewhere that getting your sim physically replaced isn't necessary. They said you could call Verizon and have them deactivate and reactive your sim card and it would do the same thing. I tried that...either the vzw rep didn't actually do it, or it didn't work. I know it's a hassle, but going down to a Verizon store is probably your best option.
As far as updating the phone through the Update Utility on the computer, I don't believe that the update is being rolled out through it yet. As of earlier today the update was only rolling out over the air.
Hope it works out for you!
Just took a look at my phone and a system update is downloading - says it's 526.6mb. It was already 50%+ done by the time I took a look. Anyone know what it's about?
Was able to get into the "Learn more" part and it's updating the version to VS99023A. Supposedly provides improved WiFi calling performance and a clarification to the USB connection pop-up when the phone is charging.

No clue, got the same thing. Didn't think N was available, so may be 6.1
Edit: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/lg-v10-update/
It is unlocking your boot loader and removing bloatware.
Tried to update...it errored out.
I had root, then restored to update to Marshmallow. My status is still listed as "modified" is there anyway to fix that so I can take this update?
Edit:
I reflashed the 22A with LGUp with Refurbish mode. Then updated. Was good to get a fresh start, I guess....
