Well, i'm new on xda. I tryed to search in many topics as i could, but I'm not getting how to install KPB 2.3.4 in my Galaxy Ace via Odin.
Actualy i'm trying to run this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1258830) cyanogen mod on my phone, but i'm finding troubles in running odin. Can someone help me?
Thanks and sorry if i'm doing something wrong!
first of all what you want to install currently??
if you are flashing KPB then whats problem??
if you are trying to flash cm via odin then might want to read instructions again
I'd like to know how to install the KPB via odin. The KPB file in the tutorial has a .md5 extension and Odin only accepts .ops. Please, be patient with me, i'm noob!

Yes, you totally a noob... But that's not a problem.
.ops file is nothing but cooper.ops that you should load there (it is used to detect you SGA in ODIN).
Regarding to KPB, if the file you have is a OnePackage then you should select One package and load it at the end of the window. It goes kinda like that...
Anyway check HERE ... There you can find good content about what you want to do.
So i did it, and an error appeared:
"An unamed file was found"
What should i do now?

first of all as you are on win7 run odin as admin
and show us what file you actually loaded in folder preview
as file ends with .md5 it is onepackage rom.... give SS of what you loaded [Not error]
It was already running as ADM.

its not...

Can somebody link me to a step by step way of getting it back to stock no matter how much it is messed up? I tried a guide I found here but it didn't work

Yeah I think you are going to have to go back to stock, since you still can access download mode and CWM it means that your bootloaders are most likely not messed up.
So have you tried this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531850 And what stock US rom do you have?
And if that is to confusing go to that link
1) Download stock rom found here (it's in the link I gave you above look for G1UEKI8 Restore Pack (Odin) Download)
2) Download and install Kies found here: http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/ (if you haven't, it's for the driver)
3) Download and install Odin just click the link http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...IxHp1ISlP2fzGKhtw&sig2=ZjUHLCkIbG1_EprOk9enrA
4) Enable USB Debugging from the GP 4.0 (Settings-> Applications-> Development Check box for USB Debugging) (It's fine if you can't do this step but it is recommended)
5) Turn off the player regularly then put it into download mode (Hold Volume down and power), Icon that says downloading at the bottom should pop up (looks like this http://techbyte.co.in/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Android_download.jpg)
6) Open Odin (make sure only Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked or you will brick your device)
7) Plug in Galaxy Player to USB port. Under ID:COM it should say something like 0:[COM4] and is yellow. In the message area it should say "Added!!"
8) Hit PDA and select the .md5 or .tar file named "YPG1USFullResotore.tar" (only use the .pit file if you want to re partition your player otherwise it is not needed)
9) Hit Start and wait until it finishes. Should take anywhere from 2-4 minutes.
10) Turn off player, and put it into recovery ( when samsung logo appears Hold simultaneously power + volume up ])
looks like this http://h8.abload.de/img/20100829_004w6fq.jpg
11) Do Wipe data/factory reset, and Wipe cache Partition
12) Profit
I followed your directions but it still doesn't work. I think odin isn't flashing it because it always is done in under 10 seconds. This is the log thing from odin

Yeah it should take longer than 10 secs. So what happens when it doesn't boot? Are you in a bootloop or nothing. Did you go into CWM and wipe data, factory reset, and dalvick?

Hi all, My S3 GT-I9300 international edition, bought on Amazon from some German place, orignal stock Samsung no mods went into a boot loop Xmas day (yeah, what a present!).
I could then go into recovery mode and cleared the cache. Still boot loop AND I could NO LONGER get to recovery mode, but can get into Download Mode just fine. So there is hope...
I read this tread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458
I am hoping this is the way to go for me. Experts may comment, please.
I am looking for kernel AND pit files. Where can i get them?
I tried using Siyah-s2-v5.0.1 but do not have a PIT file for it.
When I try to use it heimdall says I do not have the right PIT file:
"
Beginning session...
Session begun with device of type: 131072
Downloading device's PIT file...
PIT file download sucessful
ERROR: Partition corresponding to -kernel argument could not be located
"
I am on OS X with heimdall working fine.
Please help if you can and know more.
thank you so much
E
Using this rom:
I9300XXELL4_I9300O2UELL1_I9300BWELK1_HOME
and the Siyah-s2-v5.0.1 kernel, I can do:
heimdall flash --primary-boot boot.img --verbose
OK
heimdall flash --recovery recovery.img --verbose
OK
but nothing else. I cannot do:
heimdall flash --kernel zImage --verbose
it says:
ERROR: Partition corresponding to -kernel argument could not be located
Boot loop is flash stock rom via Odin.
Stay away from pit files .

Why are you using siyah s2 kernel if you have an s3 maybe thats the reason you got into bootloop

LOL
1. download an stock rom from www.samfirmware.com
2. dont make the same mistake as you did with before download a SIII rom instead of an SII rom...
3. Use ODIN to flash to a stockrom AND NEVER FLASH .PIT FILES with ODIN unless YOU reallyyy need it.
4. now keep it or move to a custom ROM for the SIII and not SII AKA S2

So yes,
I played around with the CM theme chooser for a while. It always even usually causes my phone to crash, but is stable once it reboots. Only this time it only kept the samsung logo along with the model number on the screen. It refused to boot.
As of now i am able to enter Odin mode and recovery mode.
On Recovery i am getting
CWM 6.0.4.9
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_install
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_install
And therefore, i cannot format anything or clear anything either.
The phone be a GTI9300, 16 GB.
I have tried to flash .PIT files too, since i think it is a partition issue. Fail.
Any ideas on what i should do next?
I had the same issue, I resolved it by:
Going to download mode on the device and connecting to PC.
Flashing the official *.pit file using ODIN.
Then flashing Philz Touch Recovery through ODIN.
Then format a clean micro SD card (in fat32), transfer the stock bootloader zip file onto it (no need to extract the .zip file).
Then press Vol. UP+Power+Menu button and booting to recovery.
There I picked install from SD card > and selected the bootloader.
During installation it asked me to reboot and I could see the blue Samsung logo, then turn device off.
Go to Download/ODIN mode on your device.
Flash the stock ROM using ODIN.
Boot to Recovery, you'll notice that Philz Touch Recovery is replaced with stock one.
There...wipe cache, factory reset and reboot your device.
For more details check the thread where I posted my issue:

That happens sometimes...I had issues with being stuck at "Get Pit for mapping" and "SetupConnection" many times.
Just be persistent and keep calm...the exact steps I followed are in my thread, check the link in my previous post.
I'll be adding the .pit file and the links of the images I used tomorrow in my thread as well.
It's pretty late and I'm on my phone...all the links and files are on my PC, so I'll do it tomorrow.

If I'm not mistaken boot.img is the bootloader, not the recovery. Are you sure you can't get into recovery using the 3-button-combo? If not I would try flashing this recovery via ODIN. And then try to reboot into it using the combo. Then flash CM zip from there again.
Hi, im sure i cant get to recovery using 3 button combo. That gives me only the loop of "Samsung SIII" logo. The 3buttons combo work only for download mode.
Thats what i wrote, when im trying to flash the recovery via ODIN it gets stucked on the on the message <ID:0/028> NAND Write Start!! and nothing else happens. I tryed the 3.07 and 3.09 version of ODIN.

Ah, I'm sorry I misunderstood. I thought that was just a snippet of the log... Try flashing the recovery I provided and see if it flashes. If not, maybe you can flash stock firmware with pit file (new partition table). If nothing flashes, I have no further ideas.
Thanks, but ive already tryed to flash several recovery with the same results (got stucked on NAND write in ODIN), I downloaded stock rom but the package was without pit and other kinds of files (got stucked too on NAND write in ODIN). Its a ROM for TMZ (T-mobile Czech). Do you know where i can get the "full" package. Do i need to flash the pit and other files together with ROM?
You're seriously pottering a brick. The 'full package' contents 3 files, which you've to place in the right Odin-windows +repartition-check. These files are unofficial. Google for files and instruction.

I could be mistaken but I believe the 3-part-roms (csc / pda / phone) is the "old style" how roms where put out by sammy. You would have to search but I would think you can also use the version you get from sammobile nowadays (one zip) and additionally just use the gt-i9300 pit file found somewhere here in the forums.
@Hawaiihemd: be shure, you're wrong.

@rp158 Well, I think I only made a small error in my assumption.
Here are the details on the sammobile download. It seems to hold everything a "3-part-version" holds. I downloaded the file and a look at the .tar file inside the single .zip seems to confirm that.
This post suggests that flashing the .tar with the pit file should work.
I don't know because I haven't tried myself, maybe you have. Or I'm missing a piece of the puzzle. If so, maybe you could point me to it!?
@Hawaiihemd: If I look into the unzipped tar.md5-firmware, there are image-files. One for each partition. If I look into a 3part-zip-file, there are 3 tar.md5-files for each Odin-input-window. I tried only this soft method. The way, described in your cited post, I would only try as a last exit. The whole Odin-firmware-flashing is a black-box: noone knows, why&when during a normal flash a factory-reset is triggered or during repartition efs-data are restored. So, where the software finds the necessary repartition-data in the usual 1part-zip, is also unknown. Sorry, if I hurt you.

That said, I have done the "3-files" version of this process with a .pit file thrice already on different gt-i9000s. Always worked flawlessly.
Looking at the ones in the post @tallman43 suggested, I found the contents of those 3 .tar.md5 files in summary(!) similar to the ones in the 1 .zip from sammobile. That's why I thought it could work in the first place.
One thing I'm sure of is that in both cases the repartition info is in the .pit file. If you choose none, the MMC should not be repartioned. If partitions are reformatted... that's another deal.
Concerning the efs partition, to/from where that info is stored/restored during repartitioning of the MMC... that's a very interesting question!

Try this >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30087735&postcount=6 << the pit file is in the 4.1.2 download and can be used on both versions.(Also try the 1.85 version of Odin) >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...08-2013-odin-3-09-odin-1-85-versions-t2189539 <<

Hi all.
I wanted to flash my original rom from Hungary T-Mobile yesterday and it failed at hidden.img. But I can flash the United Kingdom / Ireland one on the phone.
Is there any way to flash back my original rom ? I downloaded all roms from sammobile.

1. Extract the md5 file with Winrar
2. Delete the hidden.img
3. Compress it to md5 file using this toolkit.
Link of the toolkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...lkit-skipsoft-android-toolkit-galaxy-t3101195
The toolkit might look a bit unfamiliar at first but just play with it for a while and you will know how to use it. It's not that hard,I was in your situation too. Cheers

Thank you for your help worked ! :good:
can someone tell mr how to delete the hidden file? i cant delete it after i extract the MD5..
"Extract" or "Extract to" by using the mouse right-click button, not by double-clicking on the file!
f.
this solved
Open the firmware file in winrar and extract the hidden.img. Rename it as hidden.img.tar.
Load the new file into the PDA tab, and flash.
When the phone boots, the displayed image will be touchwiz teal, there will be a little android and GALAXY spelt above it. Don't freak out.
Give it a minute and it should boot.

This worked for me as well! Thanks!
Hi mate!
i was having this issue on my phone, and what i did is:
Try to install again the firmware on ODIN and you'll get the FAIL message. After that your phone will stay stuck on "Firmware issue... use smart switch..." message on the phone boot.
Ok at this point, install the smart Switch on you PC, the samsung Drivers to Recognize your phone. Done that, plug you phone on the computer e open Smart Switch and wait the software open show your phone. At the top right of the smart switch, there is a button called "MORE", press it and click on the option "Emergency software recovery and initialization" like THIS
After all of this steps, follow the instructions posted on THIS FORUM
I did this steps and Solved the Hidden message when i was trying to install firmwares on Odin. I don't know exactly what smart switch did, i guess it corrected some problems on the partition table that was wrong.
Hope this help you!

Hi I got the same problem with my SM-G925F from France.
I was in a bootloop with the s6 logo and "recovery is not seandroid enforcing". I trying to flash many different ROMs, they all failed. Finally I tried the G925FXXU3QOK9_G925FBOG3QOK9_G925FXXU3QOJO_HOME.tar and it failed at hidden.img. I renamed it and all but now I'm stuck in another bootloop with the s6 logo and the android in a blue background with galaxy spelt above it. I can't go to the recovery mode. I really don't know what to do now..

I kept getting stuck at 'failed at hidden.img' did some google-ing and found out it's to do with my pit files.
Flashed ZEROLTE_EUR_OPEN_HIDDEN240M through the pit option in odin and bingo!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general/g925-pit-files-multi-thread-download-t3171636
(as for the 'recovery is not seandroid enforcing' message that's normal)

Why did you uncheck auto reboot?
Before you did root?
