i went to the maket on the web, i found it there but for some ungodly reason it says me device is not compatible???? are you on Verizon?
I don't see it in the market either. I'm with Verizon.
Does the OP have the leaked update? I only saw the update show up after I installed the leaked update for the 912. Version 2.1.0.0 after today's update. Before that it was 2.0.70. If you don't have the leaked update your version is probably older
I see the update in my market. Under What's New, it says:
"Localization Changes for Japanese and Turkish languages"
"Misc Bug Fixes"
The update is dated for 1/20/12
2.67MB
I completely forgot that I'm running the leak, sorry. Yes, I'm with Verizon. Not rooted, though so if you run the update too, you can grab it.

Very important to note that you MUST be using either the CDMA 2.3.6 update, or the LATEST. 167 GSM 2.3.6 update to use this. I spent an age trying to get hold of it on previous firmware, it absolutely will not work.
The reason for this is that those latest updates change the structure of the smart actions apps significantly, and remove/merge a bunch of apks that were previously part of it. This makes the apps modular and able to be updated from the market.

Am I misunderstanding you, or are you saying the phone must be running the "cheesecake" unofficial update snarfed from the servers in order to use the new Smart Actions? The latest official update was to 748 for Verizon CDMA.

As far as I'm aware, that's 100% correct. Certainly the case for GSM, the last officially pushed OTA does not make the market update available.
Makes you wonder why Moto released the app to market in December, and why they've updated it twice since then.

Moto made ICS for the XOOM in December. They are building up from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6 to 2.3.7 to hopefully 4.0.3. Who knows why? They could have done 2.3.5 to 4.0.3. Moto makes no sense

Between Blur oddities like giant widgets that do nothing when tapped, a home launcher that sets third party launchers as default automatically, all manner of hidden apps, the obvious conflicts between consumer & business use, and potentially releasing the same hardware in GSM and CDMA 'variants' by just disabling radios in software...yeah, Moto is a very strange OEM.

You guys do realize that Moto names their updates with the system version you are coming from and not the version you will be going to.
Root can be retained on the en.EU update using Supercurio's OTA Rootkeeper app, I would wager the same is true of the VZW favoured RAZR. Risky business without a stock ROM to revert back to, mind you.

I find it odd that the Verizon site lists the instructions and "changelog" for the update, yet doesn't list the actual file for the upgrade. And I'm not sure why some people (myself included) haven't received the OTA either.
As for "improved camera features", I wonder what they changed - the shots I'm getting are slightly bluish, and foggy with the flash.

So, I've been running the ICS leak from April on my original RAZR since the day it came out and I absolutely love it. I have also been reading all of the speculative posts about the" official" release to be available soon. I have 2 questions/concerns that I would love to hear some opinions.
1. What will the official release give me that the leak doesn't?
2. How do I back up all of my apps and progress on my games if I do decide to update?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

And if they don't open up the bootloader they will partially fail by losing some customers..

Lol 84 is extremely nice. Better than 75 . Moto is really working on a full nice release. I can only guess 204 is better. The ota will have less bugs than 8r does and I haven't encountered any issues in 2 weeks of use. Ota will be very nice without a doubt
It will be bug free, or close. Leaked betas point this way. It may have bugs but will be really impressive SO. Probably much better andstable than actual gb.
Btw. I think you guys are too smart to believe in a 100% bug free system. Think you got it

There may be maintenance only
Could be maintenance better to say I am afraid it is only that after your reply..
But I still have a little hope.
Its says that ics will possibly be out in the second quarter. so with the way things work and the second quarter ends on june 30 that willl be when we will see ics.
No update here but yesterday Motocast updated from 1.2.9 to 2.0.17 so maybe it's close
Hopefully it is soon, but with moto I can see them waiting until the last day of Q2 to release it. I mean there are a ton of leaks and they seem to be working pretty well so it should be close.
If motorola were working pretty well we should have ics already. Its 8 months since google released android 4.0.1 sdk.
And mags are talking about ics 5.0 aka jelly bean while we're still in GB, this is the facts..
We'll get 4.0 just a few months before 5.0. Its not a good deal, is it?
Sorry, Im just a lttle pissed. lol

MOTOROLA RAZR
Asia Pacific, Canada, China, EMEA, Japan, Korea & LATAM
Development
Rollouts begin in Q2 2012.
Japan and Europe will recive ICS at the same time so maybe they started rolling out ICS for Japan and soon we will see it in Europe?!
All this can lead us to believe that the latest leak, which is dated 22.5., could be the one they push out. After using it for two days, i can say it's very much a bugfree rom. I didn't find a single problem with it, did not even need to restart the device once. Also battery life is amazing. Wouldn't be surprised if this is the one they release.

Where are the Japanese users who can tell us about this ICS release?
Hi everyone! I've been lurking a lot, but not registered until now.
I have been anxiously awaiting the ics update for my razr, but haven't gotten it yet. As I was checking my info on my phone I found that I only have 2.3.5.
Shouldn't I have gotten 2.3.6 by now to prepare for ics? I really want my ics but how will I ever get it if I don't even have 2.3.6?
If it helps, I live in Sweden and my operator is tele2/comviq.
If I search for updates it says it's up to date. What can I do?
Sent from my XT910 using xda-developers app
did you buy your phone used? maybe previous owner flashed with something weird?
Nope. It's bought brand new and I've updated once as far as I can remember. Still says 235 though.
Any idea? I'm so over it. I just want a version of ICS that works here in Sweden, any way really..
Sent from my XT910 using xda app-developers app
What version are you on? You can RSD an EMEA fastboot file to get the European updates, but there are probably better solutions if you don't want to mess with your phone
I'm on version 651.73.30.XT910.NonEFIGSRetail.en.EU .
Does that say anything to any of you guys..?
I'm fine with going the manual way of updating, as long as the version works as intended here in Sweden.
Although I do want the official release, not an earlier leak or a mod.
Yup, that's the latest version for the NonEFIGSRetail.en.EU, I'm on it as well (in Israel). There isn't an update to 2.3.6 for us
Not everyone in Sweden received 2.3.6, some was lucky updating to 2.3.6 (I was one of them) try to update via Motocast and see if there is anything there otherwise wait for the official ICS

I think if we waited so long, we can wait a few more days. We should be getting ICS in Q2... or so motorolla says.
But if you want, there are many posts around here on how to RSD-lite-your-way to ICS.
But does any of it apply for those of us in Europe? I've only seen the Verizon and Brazil updates.
Sent from my XT910 using xda app-developers app
Yes, there is this T-mobile EU leak http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688241
Since I'm not that well informed, I'm going to ask to be sure.
If install it that way, am I still "official ROM" and can get future OTA? And everything will work as intended even though I don't have T-mobile?
Edit: also, since I've never updated like this with a new version of android, will I loose apps etc? It's not really a problem, just wondering.
Sent from my XT910 using xda app-developers app
No, if you install that OTA you will not be entitled to the official OTA's from Motorola (AFAIK). And I know that going back to Gingerbread is not possible if you are on ICS. In my opinion is better to wait these 4 days and see if Motorola releases the official ICS on time (Q2)
I don't know if the one I gave you the link about is official (I doubt it) it's considered a leak and there might be bugs
If you cant wait, install EMEA 2.3.6 with RSD-Lite, then you should get the OTA as soon as it arrives in Europe. That's what I've done
@percz, does that mean that you've received the update, and does it mean that you got it from the official update service?
