Well first u can download books in epub format from many websites. Then create a folder in either sd card or htc tablet named as ebooks(for convenience).put the books in here. Now simply use any explorer to open these books - the reader on your tablet will automatically at this point recognize the books and your library will be updated simultaneously. In my case i used es file explorer. Hope this solves your problem.
Often when I add new download new epub files reader doesn't want to put them in my book list until a reset. If I d/l one and it doesn't add, it always appears after resetting.
Thanks all for the advice.

OP is it downloading your having a problem with? as the 2 replys seem to help with getting the book to show on your flyer?
When i bought this tablet, i wanted to use it for blogging with the Wordpress app. App works on my G2, but not on my Gtablet.
I downloaded Wordpress to my G2 using market and moved it to the sd card which i put in the tablet. The tablet doesnt see the Wordpress app on the sd card when i view using settings>manage apps>sd card.
Wordpress doesn't show in market on the tablet.
Does anybody know how to get Wordpress on the Gtablet?
Thanks

Works fine on my gtab. Try directly downloading it to your gtab from the amazon app store or even the google android market. There might be different versions (?)

the android app store on amazon did not work and the regular android market did not work
But...
I went to android.wordpress.com
click on their help forums and found a direct link that worked yippee!
Is it possible to use an external hard drive with this? Was thinking it would be a great to dump photos, etc to more quickly than using WiFi or MTP.
If so, what do you have to do, and do you need ext3/4 file system?
Thanks!

I'd like to know this also. I have a 1T external with all my media on it that would be very useful in long road trips or overnight stays for the kids.
Haven't done so with the 201 but an NTFS drive connected to the USB port on the 101 dock worked well. No reason to think it wouldn't do the same with the prime.

Oh hell yes!
I have the dock and I have the 1T external hd. I have done what you've asked about and it makes it so much easier than running it through the laptop or a pc. Just plug it in and copy/paste.
I mean, unless I don't understand what you are asking.....you don't need to do anything. the tablet is recognized as a drive, the external is recognized as another drive. I also have and micro sd drive inserted so when I went to File Explorer I just copied and pasted. Books and movies mostly. Most of my photos live in a cloud, so does my music. Of course I'll make some of that avl' offline.
Ok, how did you get it to recognize it?
I have a 1 TB Western Digital USB drive and it powered up, but it didn't do anything. I went into storage and it it didn't see it.
Have you tried using it on a "main" computer and access it via Samba, or hooked up to your router as NAS?

Nevermind. I see that it just works. It didn't come up the first time, but reattaching worked.
It's mounted under /Removable/USBdisk1, next to the MicroSD card.
Works like a charm... Plug in the disk and you can manipulate the files and folders with just about any File Manager on your Prime. I actually like the Asus file manager quite a bit, though use ES Explorer also. I only have Windows file systems on my Usb Hard Drives, so NTFS and FAT32 will be just fine. I've never timed it, but I would guess that copying a GB takes a minute, plus or minus.

Ok, I'm curious.
I've seen this in kernels for phones where CIFS support is included, and I'm guessing you're alluding to that here as well. How do you actually use that with an Android device?

I have ReadyNAS, and can view into it at any time with my phone. I figured that there would me some version of "Connected Media" app for this device. Maybe there is something available on the market that can stream media?
I know with the stock HTC music app, I can listen to music streamed from my NAS.

Worked with an NTFS formatted 1TB Toshiba HD under both Honeycomb and ICS.

um, have you looked at MyNet ? I don't have a NAS and I may be off base, but I think that app looks at everything on the network. I think (?)
So those are Windows apps?

On the NOOK (Usb Mode) it is My Files then Books and same with sdcard
If you are looking for a borrowed book I believe the file name is coded and not plain text of book title.
Like:

At least on my rooted Nook.
i was wondering if its possible to use .mobi book files on a nook tablet?
With the kindle app or another app that supports them it is possible. Otherwise you can use a program like calibre in your PC to convert them to epub.

Is there a specific place they need to be stored? I tried copying a few to the root of my sd card and couldn't get the kind app or the google books app to find them.
Google books wont read them.
Kindle books are pulled from the kindle folder that is created upon the first time opening the app.
