I was wondering if anyone knows where books are stored for nook and kindle. I have some books in epub and am having trouble finding where to put them.

On the NOOK (Usb Mode) it is My Files then Books and same with sdcard
If you are looking for a borrowed book I believe the file name is coded and not plain text of book title.

Well first u can download books in epub format from many websites. Then create a folder in either sd card or htc tablet named as ebooks(for convenience).put the books in here. Now simply use any explorer to open these books - the reader on your tablet will automatically at this point recognize the books and your library will be updated simultaneously. In my case i used es file explorer. Hope this solves your problem.
Often when I add new download new epub files reader doesn't want to put them in my book list until a reset. If I d/l one and it doesn't add, it always appears after resetting.
Thanks all for the advice.

If they're in .mobi format, use kindle.
Aldiko is good for other formats (or so i've been told, i don't use it)
....use one piece of software to read books from Google, kobo and for kindle?
It would be great to save space for books rather than losing space by having to have three or four readers installed.
Any suggestions?
Cheers.

Nope. Unless you don't mind removing DRM (which you should do anyway, legal or no) and converting. Especially the Kindle format is tricky, as only the Kindle app will read it.
I've always wondered how to convert Google books. Can Calibre do it?

yes, but not natively...google "calibre remove drm"
there are many tools available to remove drm from any format ebook
I try to stick with 1 format and use Calibre to convert emails I have to that format and then transfer them to my SD card. Kindle uses .mobi and most others use ePub. Hope this helps.
So I installed Kindle eReader app for Android on both my HP Touchpad and my SGSII Epic 4G Touch. I downloaded my first book and I'm reading it fine on both but I can't find the actual file ANYWHERE on my phone or tablet. There is a folder on sd card called Kindle, but it's empty. I tried looking elsewhere but couldn't find anything. Where are these files? Surely they're not stored in the cloud?
Sd/Android/data/amazon. Kindle/files
Not the exact path but close

i was wondering if its possible to use .mobi book files on a nook tablet?
With the kindle app or another app that supports them it is possible. Otherwise you can use a program like calibre in your PC to convert them to epub.

Is there a specific place they need to be stored? I tried copying a few to the root of my sd card and couldn't get the kind app or the google books app to find them.
Google books wont read them.
Kindle books are pulled from the kindle folder that is created upon the first time opening the app.
