[Q] Is there a build-in way to take screenshots in CM9? - TouchPad General

Thanks, guys.

Power + volume down

Holy Crap! The other night I was messing with this trying to take a shot and make my friend jealous win my ICS touchpad and ended up downloading ScreenShot from market.
This is great! Thanks for the tip!
BTW, you have to do both right at the same time and hold it.

Capacitive buttons

Hey guys I just got my attic in the mail and I have a weird problem. The home and search capacitive buttons don’t do anything when I press them it vibrates and... nothing. I'll try power cycling maybe some other fix you could think of?
Edit: power cycle worked feel free to delete this thread

Secret buttons!

probably been found before but i've found if i hold down the bottom left of the phone (under and to the left of the home key) i get a 'recent' menu pop up with all the apps i've used recently.
do the same on the other corner and you get the 'speak now' pop up
common knowledge??
Yeah, it's common knowledge.
Welcome to the world of Android .Yes this is extreme common knowledge across all android devices. Good effort though.
If you hold power and volume down you enter a secret menu when the phone powers up.
Just found this out by accident today

its actually just a long press of the home key and same for the search key. NOT under and to the left of the key. Just press and hold the home key for 1.5-2sec and release and youll get it to pop up.
but yeah thats common android like everyone else said.

You are not hitting a secret button, you are long pressing the home button and the search button.
Common knowledge.
Long press the "Menu" button and the keyboard pops up... betcha didn't know THAT, now, didja? ~
Long press the back button and it goes back a page in most apps!

lol yeah, its extreme common knowledge to press down the hard plastic side of your phone to get the recent apps. also us super-powerusers like to slam our phones against wall for more battery
good effort though

That would be the hboot and fast boot menus, more useful if you're going to root.
i know it's annoying but i'll ask anyway,
in brief, what is rooting?

In a short explanation, Rooting is taking the panties off your phone and exposing the goods, and what you can do with those goods.

Yep.. It allows you to permanently write to the "root" directories of your phone... Most importantly, the /boot & /system partitions...

Yea what ever you do don't push the big red button that says do not press (located under the LCD) I had to learn the hard way.
How about long-pressing the power button. Did you know it brings up a menu to turn your phone OFF!?! OMFGWTFBBQ!?!!
Here comes the trolls and **** boys. Obviously he's new to Android, no need to start jokes.

On stock LPQ, Home + Power still works, but you have to hold it a bit longer. Vol Down + Power works too, but you also have to hold that a bit longer than you think you do as well.
LPQ? Sorry I haven't a clue, I'm asking for a friend.

LPQ was one of the early Samsung releases of 4.0.3. I don't personally have it on my phone, but I installed it on a work colleague's phone. I tested taking screenshots on his phone with Home + Power, and Vol Down + Power. Both worked.

(Solved) Xperia U power button problem

So, as the title says hardware problem and there are few things I want to know about. Have anyone got the problem about power button position on the inside is lower than the volume buttons? My bro and me got the same XU and never have problem except this one. My Xperia U has the lowest power button than my brother. If that's my phone's factory fault, can I repair it by disassemble it and settling the buttons back? I got no problem but I have to press hard for power button and there are no pressable home button to wake my device up. My problem is normal or not? Please answer me dear bros. Thanks.

If you have a guarantee, I'd recommend you take it to the store since its a factory problem. If you don't have a guarantee, there's some apps which let you use the volume buttons to turn the screen on. I don't know the names since I've never used one but I've seen it in here so you can use the search bar to look for them

They told me to wait for changing my handset dear bro. I'm waiting. Everything's went so bad. They told me that it wouldn't gets so wrong. But it's definitely sure that I have very stupid power button. You're right bro. I should have brought my brother handset, too. Now I'm in anxiety because it's only one week old. Now, I press so hard the power button and it annoys me. Anyway, I thank you so much for helping me out. Now I'll have to wait for answer.

Nexus 5 - Can I Disable Safe Mode?

Hi, I am Minori ^ _ ^
I have a Nexus 5 and volume down button is stuck/broken. Whenever I turn on my phone, it goes to Safe Mode because it thinks I am pressing power and volume down button all the time. I was wondering if anybody knows a way I can disable safe mode/secure boot so my phone can start in normal mode? The only solution I have found so far is so take it to get repaired however it costs too much to do so. If anybody has any brilliant ideas I would love to know :victory::victory::victory: and please excuse my poor English
