I'm in the states for 2 weeks and really wanted to pick up the Prime (Grey) 32Gb or 64Gb if it's in stock.
Can I actually get it anywhere? I'm in Houston and have been to Bestbuy, Office Depot, etc and no stock anywhere!!
Any actually for sale? Amazon don't have them either!
If all goes well I should be receiving mine from gamestop. The catch is you have to get the one with the controller, but the 30$ is worth it.

did you check best buy online for local availability? I found some finally locally this way this weekend in NJ.. called the store.. confirmed they had it and put my name on it.. got there asked out the dock and they had that also.. finally have both.
OMS orders in a Bestbuy store works like a charm you just need the sku number of the prime and theyll get to you within a week

I don't know if the sales guy was just an idiot but he said they had none in stock :/
go to customer service.. I did the same thing.. went to the sales guy and he gave me some answer that it meant it was orderable in store.. took me an hr each way to go to that store.. went home and saw another store showed that status now .. called and they said yup they had it.. even made them confirm before I took another hr drive.. well after 4 hrs finally have it.. first store I tried to call and they never answered the night before so went then next morning to get there about opening time to get that answer.. that was from a kid on the floor.. should have known better.. I have been seeing this in varying stores so it really is what they have not that you can just order it..
Try an Office Depot. They are in stock at many locations and few people think to try them.

OD has them with free delivery by 1/25. You'd also be able to return it in-store if you have a problem.

Ordered mine from Office Depot yesterday. Called to verify (1/12 4:45pm est) they truly had some in and was told at that time they had 37 in the warehouse. However, she could not tell me a color, lol. No matter where she went on her computer it wasn't listed. It made me nervous as I already have the Dock sitting here until I checked "Product Details" and it is model TF201-B-GR. I feel better. Not 100% but at lest 85% I'm getting the correct color. Order shipped and I should have it Tuesday.

There are some FRYs Electronics stores that have few of them in stock in the back room. You can have an employee look up the SKU and they should be able to tell you whether they *actually* have them in stock there.
Just went to my local bb store this morning in Ithaca NY and they had the 32 gb prime in stock with the keyboard dock. I purchased one and I am loving it!
I've been going to the local BB near me to check the availability of the Prime for about 3 weeks. On Saturday, I visited a BB to purchase a case for my daughter's cell phone. I Checked to see if they had the Prime. This particular store had just received their shipment. They only received 1 tablet. I immediately purchased it. Very happy so far.

Good to know i wonder if the one here in Binghamton NY has one...if not I'm driving up to Ithaca to get the dock lol. I know my store has one on display now.

I added one to my cart on their website and selected ship to store. I put in my zip code and it showed that a few of the stores had them in stock, but most were a sip to store option 3-5 days. So maybe if you tried that to see if any store near you has them in stock. If it claims it on the website, call the store and ensure that they do before going so you won't get your hopes up.

I tried the vestal store on Saturday and they didnt have any, but will do ship to store and have it in a couple of days.
I just got mine at BB. Walked in to kill time and decided to ask because I saw the shelf tag. They just got 2 in their shipment and myself and another guy both asked about it at the same time lol.

So I called the BB in our area which shows the Prime in stock. The lady I talked to said they didn't have any, so I told her I saw online they had it. She finally admitted that they have it but are not allowed to sell it until Sunday the 29th because she says the Prime will be on their Sunday ad.
What if I just went there do you think they would sell it to me ?
I would go in and play dumb. Tell them that it shows it in stock in the store so you came in to buy it. It's easy for them to deny you on the phone, but in the store it's harder. If they try and deny you the buy, ask to speak to a manager. Also see if you can buy online and pick up in store. They would have to sell it to you that way as well.

Oh, and the lady also said if I ordered and did store pickup then the order would be cancelled because they are not allowed to sell it yet. Not sure how they can do that ... some guys in this thread have already purchased theirs in store just this week ...
I would ask to speak with the store manager at that point. It's a binding contract once you buy. If they cancelled it on me after I bought it online and drove to pick it up, I would want some kind of retribution, kinda like a restocking fee if I bought it and returned it because I no longer needed it.

That is very strange. I did a search of the Best Buys in NYC and noticed that a few of them showed them in stock online. I spoke to the rep at the Chelsea store and they had just received a few of them in stock today and she put one on hold for me to pick up tonight.
Been checking BB online now since late late December. No BB store within 100 miles has had any. Just so happen to check the independent BB Mobility stores and they had one! After a 2 hour round trip, I finally have a Prime! Very nice so far. Very hesitant on the ICS update tho, looks like it can bring more heartache than joy.....
Ok, so this morning i found out one of the BB's near me had some in stock and the others are ship to store, so i bought one for store pick up. When i got there the guy told me that this morning they were informed that they are not allowed to sell it yet but since i was able to do so online they sold it to me anyway
I checked again BB's website just now and the ASUS prime now shows unavailable for all stores and the ship to store option gone ...

That sounds fishy....I can't imagine they would not sell it to you if you were there in person. Especially if you talked to a manager and made a big deal about it
I was looking to buy one of these tablets from Micro Center, but it seems that they have gone out of stock with them and removed them as a listing from their website (you can still get to the item if you google it for some reason, they didn't delete the actual page..). I saw that best buy has them in stock, but I was just wondering if any other stores have it in stock because there is no best buy close by but there is a micro center (odd, I know).
If anybody could help link me to some stores (not online) that have this item, that would help me out a lot.

Thanks! I'm going to call local ones now and see if they have it and then ask if they'll price match if they happen to. Hopefully I can because if I could get it for $450 vs $500 that would be awesome.

I called up a ~20 BestBuy today and one said they they had one last Transformer Prime in stock. So I asked the guy to hold it for me till i get there. He said no we are not allowed so I ran to my car half dressed no winter coat bed head and all raced to the store run to the department just has I'm getting there they are pulling it out and I assume its for me but they hand it to a 70+ year old woman who looks like shes not going to give it up even tho she doesn't know what its for! ROFL I was going to offer her 20$ to let me buy it but I didn't wanna disrespect my elder/ stoop that low...

Just a heads up, I'm in Montreal
If you're looking to getting the prime, I walked in to the BB at Fairview Pointe-Claire to buy my Dock and they had 6 in stock on Saturday around noon.
They seem to be getting them on a regular basis every week around Friday.
I recommend you call on Thursday/Friday/Saturday morning to see if they have any.
They seem to receive their stock right before the week-end, because I picked up my first Prime from FS on Thursday two weeks before (also Pointe-Claire)
And just a heads up, not all store will carry it, due to it not being available in french so I was told by a FS store manager, so chose your store locations carefully, but Pointe-Claire BB and FS are your best bet in Montreal from my experience.

I agree but at the time of purchase, Fry's was selling it at $499 and Amazon for $650!!! for almost $700 (tax included), I got both they keyboard and the Prime where Amazon would have been $800 more.

I went into shock when I saw that too
You just have to wait for amazon to offer it as a official seller (how I got mine).
But I get next day shipping for 3.99 with my free 6 months of amazon prime.

Actually, Amazon has never sold the Prime for anything more than its retail price ($499 for 32GB, $599 for 64GB). Those inflated prices are by people just using Amazon as a storefront. Worse than the inflated price, maybe, is that you don't likely get the same return policy as with Amazon. Basically, buying from those people is pretty much exactly like buying off of eBay.

I got the last one Fry's has on any of their stores in So. Cal. a couple of week ago. I drove from O.C. (Santa Ana) to Oxnard in Ventura county to get it but luckily I had work to do there so my company (I drive a company car) paid for the gas to go there and get it. My gps doesn't work but I was aware of the problem when I purchased it, that is why I still use a Garmin Nuvi 660 for my gps navigation.

I ordered mine from Gamestop online. It's Going to be here Tomorrow (2/20). I ordered it Wednesday (2/15). It would of been here Friday (2/17) Originally, paid $24 to overnight it. Since I never purchased on Gamestop.com with that expensive of a order & different shipping address from Billing address, the system put it on hold till I called from my Billing phone number (Never received email they said they sent). That was Thursday (2/16). Next day called up, to find out cause still never got my shipping notification email. something happened where kicked that error up again, this time the rep said to ship it's verified. Later that day Friday (2/17) i received the email saying there was a issue to call this phone number. This point I am getting way beyond pissed, so called yet again, lady said no it's all set that she just sent emails out. It will be here Tuesday. So I said that's it, I'm NEVER shopping at Gamestop again. I buy all my games and accessories for all my consoles there. I have PSP, PS3, WII, XBOX 360. Plus I purchase their powerup subscription. She was very apologetic for all my issues, explained why everything happened. Then she have me the overnight shipping for free.
On Wednesday before I ordered I wanted to make sure they had it available,.only one they had was the grey 32GB Bundle. It comes with a Bluetooth controller (Looks like a aftermarket PS3 controller). He said that there was a few hundred left of that, but are going fast.

Thanks man. Oddly it is saying my local Game Stop at the mall has stock "been checking for days" lol & swore i checked today. But sure enough it says tonight after they are closed they have some. Gonna call first thing in the am. If they don't i'll order one. I hate waiting, even for 1 day .

I didnt buy anything extra just the tablet but i have been reading that people that got them from BB & Amazon you guys have just called & said this is a POS tablet and i am still having problems and they refunded the full amount & you guys got a new one? Yup. Just say it's got cack WiFi when BT is on or just in general, the GPS doesn't work (If they test this make sure the WiFi is off) and they should check to see their stock of Primes is empty due to not stocking it anymore and thye'll give you store credit worth the amount you paid for the Prime.

I got mine in Feb. and have tried 3 different BB stores in 2 different towns. Even though BB admits that there is/was recall on the Prime they still wouldn't exchange mine,was told I would have to deal with ASUS.

Well BB better do this for my because i had a big problem when it came to ordering this tablet...best buy stole $500 from me and they didn't know were it went when i ordered this by phone when they had low stock...They called it a "Ghost Transaction" too them 3 weeks and 5 case numbers to finally get my money back
