Just went to my local bb store this morning in Ithaca NY and they had the 32 gb prime in stock with the keyboard dock. I purchased one and I am loving it!
I've been going to the local BB near me to check the availability of the Prime for about 3 weeks. On Saturday, I visited a BB to purchase a case for my daughter's cell phone. I Checked to see if they had the Prime. This particular store had just received their shipment. They only received 1 tablet. I immediately purchased it. Very happy so far.

Good to know i wonder if the one here in Binghamton NY has one...if not I'm driving up to Ithaca to get the dock lol. I know my store has one on display now.

I added one to my cart on their website and selected ship to store. I put in my zip code and it showed that a few of the stores had them in stock, but most were a sip to store option 3-5 days. So maybe if you tried that to see if any store near you has them in stock. If it claims it on the website, call the store and ensure that they do before going so you won't get your hopes up.

I tried the vestal store on Saturday and they didnt have any, but will do ship to store and have it in a couple of days.
I just got mine at BB. Walked in to kill time and decided to ask because I saw the shelf tag. They just got 2 in their shipment and myself and another guy both asked about it at the same time lol.

So I called the BB in our area which shows the Prime in stock. The lady I talked to said they didn't have any, so I told her I saw online they had it. She finally admitted that they have it but are not allowed to sell it until Sunday the 29th because she says the Prime will be on their Sunday ad.
What if I just went there do you think they would sell it to me ?
I would go in and play dumb. Tell them that it shows it in stock in the store so you came in to buy it. It's easy for them to deny you on the phone, but in the store it's harder. If they try and deny you the buy, ask to speak to a manager. Also see if you can buy online and pick up in store. They would have to sell it to you that way as well.

Oh, and the lady also said if I ordered and did store pickup then the order would be cancelled because they are not allowed to sell it yet. Not sure how they can do that ... some guys in this thread have already purchased theirs in store just this week ...
I would ask to speak with the store manager at that point. It's a binding contract once you buy. If they cancelled it on me after I bought it online and drove to pick it up, I would want some kind of retribution, kinda like a restocking fee if I bought it and returned it because I no longer needed it.

That is very strange. I did a search of the Best Buys in NYC and noticed that a few of them showed them in stock online. I spoke to the rep at the Chelsea store and they had just received a few of them in stock today and she put one on hold for me to pick up tonight.
Been checking BB online now since late late December. No BB store within 100 miles has had any. Just so happen to check the independent BB Mobility stores and they had one! After a 2 hour round trip, I finally have a Prime! Very nice so far. Very hesitant on the ICS update tho, looks like it can bring more heartache than joy.....

That sounds fishy....I can't imagine they would not sell it to you if you were there in person. Especially if you talked to a manager and made a big deal about it

Yeah nobody seems to know anything. I didnt preorder because no site hadca clue when itvwould actually ship. I didnt want to preorder and be able to buy it in store while waiting for a preorder
I tried calling all the Best Buy stores in my area, and none of them had any info for me. I called their 800 number and spoke to someone in sales who had no information either. I was planning on getting up early to get one in the morning but I'm not so sure that it's worth it without any solid information.
Ordering anything online this time of the year is nerve wrecking to begin with. But to pre order this time of year is worse. Just got an email this morning that the case i bought for TF-101 was out of stock till JAN. When i ordered it 3 days ago it would be here on Tuesday. Just the kind of luck I'm having with anything associated with the word ASUS!
Typical Android tablet marketing - zero effort. One would think Asus learned a lesson from last time. I guess they are just not shooting to be a big player in the tablet market. What a shame considering that they do know how to make the stuff.
Just called them this morning, did not even know they where going to be selling them. The said they filled pre orders on a first come first serve basis. I went to the store and pre-ordered there, and received my 32 GB champagne Tablet withen 20 minutes.
*NOTE* they only have the 32 GB Champagne color.
Unfortunately it is a Christmas gift, so I will not be able to give any information on it.
EDIT: They will apparently ship even though it says in store pickup online. Just use the Chat.

i called on the phone and got one.. they are shipping it to me.. he said there was 3 left and he had 28 web chats for the same product to be shipped but i got one of the 3.
Well if you live in Illinois you might be lucky enough to get a Champagne model. They definitely don't have the Grey in-store yet.
I just called for an online order and I was told I'd have to wait until mid-January if I ordered from them.

They told me in store that they would receives a trickle of tablets everyday so I'd call every day as they seem to be the most helpful.
I bought mine from Kevin if that helps.
they charged my card and sent me an invoice.. my guess is tomorrow i will get a notice that it will not ship and i will be out the money and have to wait for them to refund my money.
This is getting ridiculous. They are showing up in flashes at places we never expected from all the announcements, then they are gone before anyone can react!
I've never chased a pre-order like this before - completely out of control....

Got an order in with a CSR. Started an online chat session right after I saw this thread open. Originally the CSR said that they didn't have any of the models in, but then said he'll check one more time.
After a couple minutes, he told me they had 5 left of the Champagne 32gb only. They had originally received 15, but 10 were accounted for by preorder.
He then gave me his telephone number and told me to call right away.
I called, and we went ahead with the order. Luckily, I've already been an ABT customer, so all my info was in the system. Just had to give them my credit card info.
Chose 2-day shipping, and was told I should get it on Friday.
I received a PDF invoice through email, but my order isn't showing up online yet ( crosses fingers).
This is absolutely crazy. I've had preorders in at 5 or 6 retailers, and it's come down to this?
The funny thing is, I was just shipped a gray dock yesterday from Best Buy. Gray dock and Champagne tablet? lol.

I got my prime and love it, but need to exchange because of some light bleed and strange battery issues. Has anyone exchanged at best buy? How does that work?

You have 14 days from delivery to return you tablet, problem is that they don't have them in the retail stores, or at least not in NJ. Good luck finding one, they are also not available online.

I got mine exchanged no problem; as long as you're within 14 days of the arrival date there won't be any problems. I just walked in, showed the guy the few dead pixels I had, and then he refunded my card for it. They won't have em in stock though, so then they just order you another one from the website. Kinda sucks having to wait all over, bit it'll be worth having a fully functioning tab.
Ps: I was rooted before I exchanged so I backed up all my stuff using titanium to an sd card then unrooted and factory reseted. I'd definitely recommend that if you're rooted.

This evening I called BB to return my tablet due to the no GPS and a slight bleeding on the too right of the tablet, the customer service rep told me that a replacement could not be shipped, and that it could be exchanged at a retail store. The problem is that there are none at the retail stores. So, how is it that the store will order you one on-line when they are not available on-line?
Has anyone here returned a Prime for a refund that was ordered online? I'm wondering if they give any trouble with refunding the shipping charges.
I returned my by calling customer service. They immediately shipped me a new one over the phone and told me to take my defective one to a store once the new one shows up.
The new one came in 2 days (this was during the last week of December). It was really painless and easy.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are in route to the store. I purchased one on best buy for ship to store this past weekend and it had an estimated delivery of 1/14/12. Then I tried to order a second one the next day using the same method and they would not let me send it to the store. I could choose site to store but then every location showed as unavailable. I took this to mean that maybe they are already in route to the stores so they don't want you placing additional site to store orders. I am just guessing but it seems funny they allowed me to order one site to store and later I HAD to choose shipping to my house to get one even though site to store was still available to click.

And yet I have had to get the public defender team on my side to get them to ship me one, and that was under duress.
It would be really nice if they had some consistency.
I returned my Prime to Best Buy after it went into a never-ending boot loop on day 15. I was concerned they would not accept the return after their stated 14-day return policy for tablets, but they did not challenge this at all after I described the problem.
The bad news is when I returned it to the Best Buy store the Prime was not available either in the store (or in any store in the state) nor for online ordering. They gave me a credit, and said I could reorder another one myself when they became available. <Heavy Sigh>
The good news is that the Office Depot site allowed me to order a Prime online (although it was initially showing as backordered). Lo and behold the next day the order was processed and I should have a Prime in 2 days. Just in time for ICS!
Let's hope the second (and not the third) Prime is the charm!
Just be aware that Office Depot does not allow returns on Tablets only exchanges.

OMS orders in a Bestbuy store works like a charm you just need the sku number of the prime and theyll get to you within a week

go to customer service.. I did the same thing.. went to the sales guy and he gave me some answer that it meant it was orderable in store.. took me an hr each way to go to that store.. went home and saw another store showed that status now .. called and they said yup they had it.. even made them confirm before I took another hr drive.. well after 4 hrs finally have it.. first store I tried to call and they never answered the night before so went then next morning to get there about opening time to get that answer.. that was from a kid on the floor.. should have known better.. I have been seeing this in varying stores so it really is what they have not that you can just order it..
Try an Office Depot. They are in stock at many locations and few people think to try them.

OD has them with free delivery by 1/25. You'd also be able to return it in-store if you have a problem.

I did the exact same thing. Saved some gas and time.

I agree but at the time of purchase, Fry's was selling it at $499 and Amazon for $650!!! for almost $700 (tax included), I got both they keyboard and the Prime where Amazon would have been $800 more.

You just have to wait for amazon to offer it as a official seller (how I got mine).
But I get next day shipping for 3.99 with my free 6 months of amazon prime.

Actually, Amazon has never sold the Prime for anything more than its retail price ($499 for 32GB, $599 for 64GB). Those inflated prices are by people just using Amazon as a storefront. Worse than the inflated price, maybe, is that you don't likely get the same return policy as with Amazon. Basically, buying from those people is pretty much exactly like buying off of eBay.

I got the last one Fry's has on any of their stores in So. Cal. a couple of week ago. I drove from O.C. (Santa Ana) to Oxnard in Ventura county to get it but luckily I had work to do there so my company (I drive a company car) paid for the gas to go there and get it. My gps doesn't work but I was aware of the problem when I purchased it, that is why I still use a Garmin Nuvi 660 for my gps navigation.

I ordered mine from Gamestop online. It's Going to be here Tomorrow (2/20). I ordered it Wednesday (2/15). It would of been here Friday (2/17) Originally, paid $24 to overnight it. Since I never purchased on Gamestop.com with that expensive of a order & different shipping address from Billing address, the system put it on hold till I called from my Billing phone number (Never received email they said they sent). That was Thursday (2/16). Next day called up, to find out cause still never got my shipping notification email. something happened where kicked that error up again, this time the rep said to ship it's verified. Later that day Friday (2/17) i received the email saying there was a issue to call this phone number. This point I am getting way beyond pissed, so called yet again, lady said no it's all set that she just sent emails out. It will be here Tuesday. So I said that's it, I'm NEVER shopping at Gamestop again. I buy all my games and accessories for all my consoles there. I have PSP, PS3, WII, XBOX 360. Plus I purchase their powerup subscription. She was very apologetic for all my issues, explained why everything happened. Then she have me the overnight shipping for free.
On Wednesday before I ordered I wanted to make sure they had it available,.only one they had was the grey 32GB Bundle. It comes with a Bluetooth controller (Looks like a aftermarket PS3 controller). He said that there was a few hundred left of that, but are going fast.

So if you order before Noon, have no hold ups, and overnight it will be there the day after next. (example order on a Tuesday, should receive on that Thursday.) As I said if there is no "hiccups". The last person I talked to was great, took care of it & said she will over see my order, do everything in her power to get it to me on Monday, but still said probably be Tuesday, and anything else pops up she would personally call me. not so great for canadians but for US its awesome. For me i just bookmarked the Bestbuy, futureshop, visions, and memoryexpress websites to check every day if they had them in stock and i got lucky. Easy as that!

On Wednesday before I ordered I wanted to make sure they had it available,.only one they had was the grey 32GB Bundle. It comes with a Bluetooth controller (Looks like a aftermarket PS3 controller). He said that there was a few hundred left of that, but are going fast.

So if you order before Noon, have no hold ups, and overnight it will be there the day after next. (example order on a Tuesday, should receive on that Thursday.) As I said if there is no "hiccups". The last person I talked to was great, took care of it & said she will over see my order, do everything in her power to get it to me on Monday, but still said probably be Tuesday, and anything else pops up she would personally call me. Thanks man. Oddly it is saying my local Game Stop at the mall has stock "been checking for days" lol & swore i checked today. But sure enough it says tonight after they are closed they have some. Gonna call first thing in the am. If they don't i'll order one. I hate waiting, even for 1 day .
