uhh battery percentage?... - Motorola Photon 4G

so ive tried two different "fixes" for the battery percentage and no luck.. just changed the icon but still "10%" increments.. i know its possible because the battery circle app shows 1% usung ur batteries voltage and ive seen roms that have 1%.. anyone know how i could fix mine?..

Q: Which rom are you running? It might be dependent on that first. If you're running Joker's ROMs..try this:
1 - Make a backup in CWM - make a copy somewhere too if you want
2 - format system
3 - Wipe data
4 - Reboot recovery
5 - Flash ROM
6 - Flash Battery %
7 - Reboot
8 - Enjoy
See if that works?
Best,
K

My guess is that if it doesn't, you could probably still flash the battery percent fix from Joker's rom since ROCKO is based off of jokers..

I'm not seeing the battery stats jumping behavior, I just restarted my phone 3x and it stays at 70%. Is the bug specific to the unlocked 2.3.4? Occurs starting at a specific % level? I flashed the official .83 SBF, applied the official 2.3.4 OTA update through SD card, and rooted. I did not do any sort of special battery reset or anything.
Im running an at&t based rom of 2.3.4 on a uk phone so maybe thats why? I fixed the ram issue gonna let the battery drain now to see if its fixed

It should work immediately after you flash that fix in CWM

(Q) just installed jokers skinny on locked loader

I have to say I am loving it so far. Only been playing around with it for about an hour. Also love the launcher he added too it simple but functional.
My question is can the 1 percent battery mod be done to stock ROM on jokers 4G locked bootloader?
Yes it can. I believe there is a link to a fix in the thread itself.
New to this phone. And a little confused, done searches. But still. ...can some one tell me which Tom's are good to flash for locked bootloader, other than the aforementioned. Jokers rom...all the roms that state BLUR?
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
I believe the only locked bootloader rom currently is Joker's skinnyrom locked. There are a few mods and themes that are able to be flashed though.

Are yopu getting 4g on the skinny rom?
I am using the skinny ROM for the locked bootloader and have 4G since I am only using the bootstrap to install.. Over the course of 9 hours of idle I only lost 2 percent battery.. Seems pretty good to me so far rather like the stripped down version..
But after trying to install the 1 percent fixes using bootstrap I cannot get any of them to display correct and stay at 10 percent increments.. Was reading it has to do with a problem with bootstrap not properly wiping cache..

Im using gingercream ics .9 on skinny4g
Flashed via bootstrap
Gives me circle batt with 10% increments
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
10percent increments is the default. I was trying to apply flashed zips using bootstrap to open up 1percent increments.
I have used a few different zips and neither one takes. I have used the one from Jokers rom thread but I am not even sure if it is compatible with his skinny4G for locked bootloaders.
I have also tried using the mod listed from this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1343807
The icon is changed to display percentage but some link is broken for it to display in 1percent increments. It still only displays in the default 10percent increments.
For the mean time I am using battery circle in conjunction to what I already have installed until a workaround / fix comes to light.

Lag

My phone is lagging really bad, any idea on how to stop it?
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA
We're going to need more info.
What exactly is lagging? The phone in general or your keyboard?
Are you running stock? Or on a ROM?
Does this persist after you restart? Or have you had your phone on for months straight?
Are you running a bunch of Apps/Widgets? How much free space memory and RAM do you have?
My bros x2 lags. Its gotta be the blur...
Sent from my MB870 using XDA
Not necessarily. I can get cm7 to lag. I imagine the lag is caused by too many processes at one time.

It's really darn hard to brick this thing and flashing is easy.
I'll lay it out like you want to flash Cm7 and you are the 2.3.4 kernel
Root your device
Download Bootstrap recovery (fyi:clockwork recovery and Bootstrap recovery are the same thing)
Install Bootstrap recovery from whatever file manager you use
Get the Cm7 rom, Google apps zip and Cm7 recovery from the Cm7 thread in development and place them on your EXTERNAL sd card
Start Bootstrap (it'll appear as System recovery on your phone)
Wipe Data, cache and Dalvik (Advanced>Dalvik chache)
Then, install zip>choose zip from sd card (now here is where you're supposed to flash the zips from the Cm7 in a particular order. Refer back to that thread as I cannot remember what order it is)
Once you've flashed everything, go back to the first menu and reboot your system.
Also learn how to do a nandroid. Long, and sad stories short it saves assess.

I have used both Eclipse and CM7 on my DX2 for extended periods and I prefer CM7 simply because of how fast it transitions. If you want a lag free phone, go with that.
Follow what thelowend said above, flashing ROM's is really easy. Just read carefully and follow directions and you will be fine

your post here and in the other thread suggest that your battery is just losing its ability to hold charge. wiping stats might pretend that it's fully charged, but you're not going to get optimal charge on an old battery. you can pick up extras for cheap.

I bought some cheap batteries (believe it was a pack of two) for about $20 and they were terrible. They wouldn't hold a charge for longer than 2 hours.

Req - themed battery meter for deodexed roms...

Tried both modded battery meters available in here, both variations of one of them to boot. Nothing worked. (Phone was broken by one of them with persistent force closing, the other one broke the notification bar altogether.
I'm assuming the image files for the battery meter all have the same location within the framework from one rom to the next, so, why don't we yet have a good themed, flashable battery meter (with percentage of course) for deodexed roms? Would anyone be up to contributing one?

A rom usualy doesn`t brick a device, the users lack of basic knowledge about flashing does! If you follow the procedure and readup on threads there is not much that can go wrong. But it`s up to you off course
THIS THREAD IS FOR THE INTERNATIONAL S3 VERSION, GO TO THE US THREAD FOR MODS, ROMS AND ROOTING.
