I've been using this app to sync my Outlook contacts to my other Sony Ericsson phone and now finally Android is supported. Check the developer's website
Thanks for the post re this. I used to use this all the time with my old SE phones. Just installed and chucked the client on the phone and connecting over WiFi is simple and works perfectly. Not only that but it's the easiest way of wirelessly transferring files to the phone too - instead of having to use FTP or Bluetooth (which stopped working for receiving files after the update to .174 it seems)
I was a big fan and frequent user of MPE for my w810i.
With my X10 & X10 Mini Pro really misses that app.
Tried it today an it works like a charm.
Thanks for the heads up !!!
Still no version for Mac OS...
I hope that someday there will come a time when humanity will understand that Windows is complete nonsense.
Hi everybody,
I have a question (or a functionality proposal?) for UrukDroid.
I have a smarphone and an Archos 70IT, but i was asking myself if, with a 3G dongle and some mods, my Archos can do all these things? And if it's possible, how? And if it isn't could I help for it?
Thanks for future answer, and keep up the good work
No, because almost all Data-3G-Sticks have no support for the calling protocols, just data and sometimes SMS...
OK, may be is not all you want... but
maybe yo can... not like mobile, but yes like sip.
with a sip provider, and Fring, you just have got a telephone !!!!!!!
=;-)
@N23, Aouch, so bad, so i can't
So i have to do an app who will allow me to write my SMS with my tablet and send them from my phone (HTC Wildfire)
@julen164, yes, good idea, but that's not what i want :s
if you want SMS service aswell....
voxigo it is a voip service with sms too
=;-)
No, i want to send my SMS from my phone (i'm unlimited ^^)
(I think i'll have to make an app for that, so ... i'll do ^^)
I don't unerstand you.
what you want?
if you want a telephone service + sms service in your A70,
voxigo has an android app, running like a voip telephone, and you can send sms too, with that app, so you have a full telephone (VOiP) in your A70.
If you want to send SMS, with your actual telephone (mobile) number, send it with your actual mobile.
In any case, some other voip services, like voipcheap, can send sms with an associated mobile number as sender id.
what else?
=;-)
I want to replace my mobile phone with my tablet (bigger screen).
But if i can't replace all its functions, i want to write my sms with the tablet (bigger screen again)
Is that clearer?
Just now,
I understand your specs......
I have read again your post...
Now I think I understand your necs...
and maybe this app can help you....
http://es.androlib.com/android.application.pl-androiddev-mobiletab-qEttt.aspx
with it, you can conect to your mobile with wifi, fron your A70, and then use your mobile line, to send SMS....
Thats it, no?
It could do the job, but it's a little bit to heavy.
An home made apps would be lighter, an app that will connect the SMSManager from the phone to the tablet, then i just need an app like Handcent and it's done (that's what i hope, i'll try and see ^^)

there is an app that does sms over bluetooth or wifi I think, but I can't recall what it is or if it works between two android devices or only works between your android device and a pc. I know there's a pc to android tool but I have a feeling there's another one which tethers two android devices to do sms.
Pretty sure I'm right cuz I used it on my hero tethered to my galaxy tab (when I still owned a tab).
EDIT: here it is: http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-grrzzz-remotesmsfull-qFij.aspx
I think it has an http server so you can sms over a web browser (which should, in theory, let you do so from your archos - but not the ideal interface for sure).
PM me if you want to discuss the app further since I have it here.
EDIT 2: Never mind! it requires that the phone and controlling device (tablet) be on a wifi network already. I don't know if it would work with an ad-hoc network between the two since I can't ad-hoc on my a101 yet. So this might not be what you need, but I think it's the closest app so far. someone actually posted a comment about it saying that they should write an android client for it too for tablet use. So it seems you and I aren't the only ones who want to do sms from the bigger tablet screen compared to our little phone screens!
Yes the web interface is not the fastest for that (and Android have something to control SMS, so why not using it?). I think the DIY is the best (and, with that i'll learn more about dev on Android ^^)
Hi there,
I have an interesting (in my opinion) topic for my university bachelor work (dunno how to call that correctly in english) - I wanna make an android app which should be able to command PC applications which support OSC (open sound control) messages via wifi. Like tons of apps that are already on the market, but they support only MIDI messages.
Problem is...my droid phone got stolen
So i know there is some kinda Android environment emulator in AndroidSDK, but, does it support wifi connection emulation somehow? Is the development of such thing possible in this way?
I mean a GOOD app, which means it needs to support delivery reports - I need to know the SMS I sent with it has been received.
That is the most crucial function and the lack of it makes the following apps completely useless to me:
- MightyText
- AirDroid
- DeskSMS
I am baffled how their developers can keep them on the market since years without this function.
The only exception is/was EasySMS, but it is very old, slow, no longer developed and it doesn't work on Android 4.4 (and some stock 4.2 roms). It still works on CM-based 4.3 roms, though.
I'm answering my own question here in hope it will help someone else, too.
After 3 years (no joke), I finally found the solution: mySMS. It comes with an sms app for the phone, but you can keep using your old favourite sms app and the remote sms with delivery reports will still work (as long as mysms is installed).
Plus, the phone does not need to be connected to the internet when you're writing the message. It will be sent as soon as the phone goes online. Excellent.
Now, the only thing I am waiting for is delivery time deport, so that I know when exactly the message was received. They are very responsive on their idea/problem/suggestion forum so I am relatively hopeful.
But for now, I am happy with it as it.
Yet I am still surprised this is the only app that does that.
And to all of the zounds of people who for the last two years were being consistently ignored by MightyText developers - here's your solution!
Throughout searching through Google, I was not able to find a definite answer. With the Pebble, all we pretty much need is the basic functions. Notifications from calls, texts, messages, etc. If I were to connect my Pebble via Bluetooth to per Se my Nexus 4 running Ubuntu Touch, will I be able to get notifications. With iPhones, I have seen that you do not need the application to receive notifications. Is it the same with Ubuntu Touch?
Sadly, smartwatches aren't supported on Ubuntu yet. There are more basic functions they need to get working right now.
Sent from my awesome Ubuntu Touch device using the Forum Browser app
i watched a video by alan pope connected to pebble and want to buy one but not much information as yet...
