That's what I was thinking. You can never over wipe.
Turn off the phone. Might be you have to hold the bottom-middle button + power button (on the top). When it seems to be starting again (could be you have to turn it on again, but not shure) hold the "back button" (bottom right). So you end up where you installed the miniCM from (CWM-based Recovery)... There you should "wipe data/factory reset", and in "advanced" you should "wipe Dalvik cache". Not sure if you need a factory reset, but if you do this you should be in the clear... If not, I think you flashed the wrong rom.

I think a factory reset is essential. I had some problems installing a rom and hunted all over the net for a guide to installing them. Lots of sites say you need to do a factory reset.

hello,
i have wanted to install CWM (recovery)
So i have xrecovery installed before, then I have launched and installed at the same time without rebooting: CWM and found a game on the internet in zip
But when I the rebooted it "buggy" and I was forced to go to CWM
that is to say that I had a screen with "sony" then a weird sort of context, then "sony ericsson" ect (loop)
So i have fiddled a bit in the CWM and jai is "unmount" a "system" and I restarted except now he has sony blocks, the start screen.
more I had broken the tip of the phone to connect to usb, so I know what to do, I think I'm wrong here ^ ^
thank you
I'm not quite sure what's happened here but if you're stuck at the Sony Ericsson logo, it sounds like you may have to reflash the phone with either SEUS or Flashtool.
I assume you've already tried restoring a back-up?
Oh, and if your USB socket is broken, you'll have to ask around to see if anyone can fit it or send it off to SE to do it. That socket is essential if you want to do any sort of hacking on your phone. Heck, it's essential if you actually want to use the phone!
thank you!
yes the plug is broken but because it is in the phone person around me can help me and I have already sent a SE but they do not want me to do repair ..

try using your pc companion. that would be the easiest thing to do for a beginner. or try using the flashtool.
or you can try the step shown here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030902

Maybe your it's a hardware problem, your keyboard is connected with a flex-cable, sometimes it happens a few wires break and you get issues. You might need to replace it.

Thnx for helping me , i thought that it might be a hardware problem, but while my mobile is booting and the kernel symbol is on the screen if i open the keyboard nothing happens.Thats why i thought its a software problem,If its the flex cable can i replace it on my own?or should i go to the shop where i bought ?
If you feel comfortable enough to mess about a bit in the innards of your phone, check if it's broken first, and i guess replacing it isn't that hard.
Hello, first i am new here, yes and like 40% noob about android.Let's pass to the subject, yesterday i just closed my Motorola Fire XT 530 because I wanted to charg it faster (noob action) and let it charging in my laptop while i was watching a movie and then I was trying to open it,but nothing it's just stucked at Moto logo (M) just appears after some secs appears and black screen and then is restarting again.I tryed all keys combinations to enter in recovery menu becase wanted to "Reset to factory settings".I remember that last thing i've done was that i checked the set cpu "Start at boot" or something and installed some apps from an dev from here with the name of the thread "Best app for your Android" i think.I am very sad i bought it from Euronics.it, a shop from Italy but in 2 days going back to my county but i have someone here that can receive it back from the shop. I have been visiting this site ever since I first read about X10 & was fascinated by it (I have always loved SE phones). Anyway, I have since gotten an X10i (AT&T) & have de-branded it as well as unlocking & rooting it. Here goes:
I installed Champs' Rom (x10sV9-addon) but didn't want all the clutter he had pre-installed. To make a long story short, I went back to Wolf's ROM via Xrecovery but something went wrong. I can no longer boot into Xrecovery & after SonyEricsson logo, screen goes blank, not black/blue just blank. The other problem is, since I can't see the screen, I can't turn on the USB connection so my PC/Flashtool/SEUS can recognize my device so I can fix it. This happened while trying to re-install Wolf's ROM & installing the following zip files via Xrecovery: Bravia_Xloud engine, Xperia S Player, Champ + Bar, x10_gb_stock_wifi_modules. Then I rebooted & I get the blank screen. I know it is on because I can turn the volume all the way down to vibrate. The "home" button still lights up. PLEASE, I need someone's help with this one as I am no expert, just a moderate tinkerer. ANY help/incite would be appreciated. Sorry, I can't even give you any screenshots. Can anyone out there help me out? Thanx in advance.

RE: Blank Screen After Flashing Custom ROM
Thanx for getting back to me so fast. As I said, the screen is blank. That is, the backlit display works but I can see nothing else. The "Home" button lights up when i press it but the display does nothing. If/When I reboot to try to enter XRecovery, I see the SonyEricsson logo followed by the backlit screen & nothing else. The Volume up/down buttons work as I am able to silence the phone by turning volume all the way down to vibrate. Because I cannot see what's on the display, I cannot turn USB on/off to connect to PC to run SEUS/Flashtool, etc. I.E. I cannot fix the device. Usually I just boot into XRecovery to fix a problem like this but that doesn't work.

hy, install sony update service and repair your phone, then install again custom rom, the indications how to repair your phone software is in the program.

I wish I had gotten this solution sooner. Not sure if it would have mattered. When trying to use Flashtool I kept getting an error saying my phone was not in "flash mode".
I solved my problem by flashing using Omnius & flashing firmware 'X10i_generic_SE_24_MultiTouch.rar'. This got my phone back but it was only 2.1 so I used 'DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su' to get me back to 2.3, but this is where I'm at. I had Wolf's firmware before but right now I have no xRecovery installed. I thought I had rooted my phone but xRecovery isn't installed nor is Busybox.. Any ideas? Thanx in advance...EVERYONE @ XDA-DEVELOPERS rox!

C if u can repair phone using SEUS now. Open the software without connecting phone. N then go to the update part. It should give u a repair option. Then follow those steps. Or else just connect ur phone n then start software. When it tells u ur phone is up to date click on that n then click on "repair". Then use the latest flashtool to root. Recoveries come with kernels so just flash a custom kernel.

Ur welcome i don't think u need help you just flashed a custom ROM.. the procedure for installing ICS is the same. Although it'd be better if you are on stock before installing it.. just look for an ICS ROM that u like (I'm using feralab n it works like a charm).
Get the kernel n ROM.. as usual, put the ROM zip on ur SD card, flash the kernel, install ROM from recovery
Although before installing:
1. In recovery go to mounts n storage
2. Format system data n cache
3. Mount system, data n cache (note that if the mounting is successful the options should change to unmount system, unmount data, unmount cache respectively)
4. Then install ROM
5. The installer is GUI based so it'll guide u really well through the installation

Howdy! Recently I just rooted, and installed CWM on my xperia mini pro (Sk17i) running the .587 version (yes, ICS). However, after doing it I can't shut down the cellphone just by holding down the power button, so now I'm forced to hold it down for a few secs, then touch the visual "power off" button. I can live with it, but if it could be fixed somehow it'd be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance.

I am quite sure that the power menu was there even before you rooted your mini pro. It is there in all of our phones even if we don't root it. And by the way, rooting only installs the superuser binaries and superuser.apk. Nothing can happen to a mobile by just "rooting" it. All the problems arise after messing with a rooted phone. Did you by chance flash a systemui.apk or framework-res.apk or something like that?

Yes, the power menu was there before indeed, the difference is that I could turn off the phone by simply holding the power button for 5~ secs, which I can't now. The only thing I did after rooting was installing cwm, and that's when I noticed the difference : C

Doing a factory reset does not edit the /system partition at all. Only the /data partition. Flashing a stock ics ftf will definitely work. Good luck!
Okay I seem to be pretty ****ed. I flashed in a custom Rom just to see if it would fix, but nope. So now I just want to hard reset the cellphone and do the whole process again. However, after connecting the cellphone to repair via pc companion, it doesn't really recognize the phone (Just says sony/sony ericsson phone) and it also says that there's no available software for my phone. So I turn it on, and connect it with the phone turned on to see what happens, and then it shows that companion is recognizing my phone as an Arc S (It might have something to do with the root, I used the 4.0.3 kernel trick since I didn't want to unlock bootloader)... Right now I'm downloading SEUS to see if it's more reliable, but damn I'm running out of ideas now, Help incredibly appreciated : (

Well PC companion now correctly recognizes it as SK17, but it still can't repair and says there's no software available for my phone.
I was hoping to remove the root and CWM via PC companion, and I can't do that by using flashtool can I? But seems like I have no choice left.
Sorry for so many quick posts, but even after flashing stock ics, then repairing via SEUS, I still can't seem to power off the phone just be holding down the button, I can't be this crazy... Someone else with a sk17 can confirm this? I'm actually scared now.

Well, your "problem" won't go away in the near future because it's not a problem, but the actual behavior of the ICS Android on the Mini Pro. I've got a SK17i with original ICS on it and I've been holding down the power button for 10 seconds: only the menu appears.
