I'm having an issue with the Facebook for android app on the prime. I cannot post a status update at all. I can comment on other peoples posts and write on their walls, send them messages, etc, but when I try to make a status update I get an error "Unable to post status at this time." I have tried from my galaxy nexus and have no issues so it seems to be prime related. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Yeah I this same exact problem. Hard to image that no one else is experiencing this.

I have been using Samsung Galaxy S II on AT&T since last one month, but recently i noticed that Mail count icon (bubble) is little broken when it displays the count of unread emails.
Is it something which is fixable or it's a deeper problem. Please look at the attachment and guide me.
Also, I am not sure if this has been the issue since the beginning because i never noticed it.
Anybody. Please tell me how should i tackle this issue.
Same Here.
Yep. me too. Seems a common issue, sometimes it comes back, a reboot fixes it,
clearing data fixes it, removing and adding the icon fixes it etc. etc.
But no one solution.
Any ideas anyone?
Hello,
Is anyone else having issues with Gmail crashing?
I can get it to crash by looking at "all mail" and then scrolling down.
On my galaxy nexus this scrolling goes back to the server and loads more messages. On my prime it just crashes and goes completely black or crashes to the home screen. I have to then force stop Gmail in order to get it to load again.
I'm having the exact same problem with my prime. I'm guessing it had to do with some other app that is running because if i restart my prime, it doesn't happen again for a while. I've searched and haven't found any others having this problem though.
I also experience some "back to homescreen" while messing in Gmail. I just cleared the data/cache to see if it will help.
I am having these troubles, too. Have anybodies problems been solved (perhaps with the new Firmwares that were put out by Asus - I am still on 9.4.2.11 as I am based in Austria) ?
The .15 update has made it so that I do not crash any longer while scrolling.
Although, sometimes when I scroll down it just sits there....loading conversations....
I still experience gmail crash... I run WW .14. I hope .15 will fix it when it will be available.
Mine crashes as well on the lastest OTA firmware. I don't think I even need to scroll to crash to homescreen. I think it does it even when I just click on an email occasionally.
Gmail crashes soooo often for me. It's driving me batty. Any ideas on how to fix it yet?

Have you cleared the cache and data?

In the few cases I've seen mentioned, whether that even helps temporarily is debatable. In my case it didn't help at all, so I just set up the "EMail" app to get my GMail instead of the GMail app.
yes i have tried that mltiple times, removed the gmail widget since i saw some mention that it could be causing the problems. no luck. removed other widgets one at a time as well. removing beautiful widgets seems to help with the home screen "crash" I was experiencing a lot, but does nothing to fix gmail
I guess I'll have to set up another email app or use a browser, but damn! neither are great fixes (
I just started using the ASUS Email app. That seems to work fine, including the widgets.
This is BS
Come on, Asus, this is Gmail, not some goofy homegrown app or a game or something. And this has been going on for a while. It is not something that just started. I swear Asus has their priorities up their ass sometimes.
I have the same problem ever since the last OTA update. The gmail app is virtually unusable, also get a similar problem with Maps crashing out when searching for places but I guess that's for a different thread.
Tried many things one of which, removing the Beautiful Widgets home screen weather/clock widget, solved a different problem where all the icons would disappear from the home screens.
It's a real shame 'cos I've had none of the hardware problems other people have had, but the flaky apps/browser/ICS are really making this tablet very difficult to use as an everyday device. Maybe it's time to unlock and try Virtuous ROM.
Maybe it's related to this:
http://www.androidcentral.com/google-acknowledges-gmail-app-may-be-flickering-says-fix-way
Acer Iconia A500 -- received stock ICS update a week ago and since then Gmail app has been playing up like all of you guys -- random crashes, flickering, freezes etc.
Very frustrating because that's the most used app on my tab. Now I have to revert to using native email app which kinda suck.
Gmail has been freezing and forceclosing on me near constantly for the last week or so. Has anyone else had this issue?

Was having the same issue after OTA.14 . I think it's its caused by a memory problem as it happens either when it was used a long time or had a lot of programs open. Restart seemed to fix it temporally. Maybe the new OTA .15 will fix it.

.15 did nothing on fixing issue.

I have the same problem.
Have you tried clearing the app cache then rebooting? Always the first step when troubleshooting an app.
Same problem here in ATP WW C1 with OTA .15 before OTA .14 this doesn't happen.
Clearing cache and app data doens't help.
A reboot solves the problem temporaly but if I play a game that need lots of resources like gameloft's games, shadowgun, etc. the gmail app has again this problem.
I also have the same problem with google maps: freezing and closing with or without FC.
Gmail force closes
I can confirm this issue with Gmail. I never had any problems with gmail before the update, now it forcecloses and sometimes I receive a blank white screen for about 15 seconds when first opening.
I was having an issue with gmail freezing and closing. I cleared cache, and app data then did a cold boot. Haven't had a problem with is since.
I have also experienced gmail freezing since ota .15. Restarting the prime helps.
Looking at the log cat when a gmail crash happen i noticed this error:
03-27 07:15:20.740 E/OpenGLRenderer(26566): OpenGLRenderer is out of memory!

Useful information. That's a good idea; I'll check out my catlog too -- my gmail has been unsuable for quite some time now, and I definitely suspect is a disk I/O or memory issue.
I can't get into my Gmail app any more. It just closes as soon as I click on anything. Really annoying, been this way for months
A temporary workaround is to use Gmail as an exchange mail server, use server name m.google.com and it will do push email.

Glad I'm not the only one. I just found this same error after gmail closes. Strange since I appear to have a ton of memory available. Almost seems like the ATP won't use all available resources. I have a lot of stuff running and seem lately to have been getting system reboots from it even.
UPDATE:
Just found this tidbit:
https://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/browse_thread/thread/28c5ffe1588436e?pli=1
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9412662/how-can-fonts-cause-opengl-out-of-memory-error
This might explain some of my behavior at least, as I'm using a bunch of Simple Text Widgets on my home screens (17 currently across 4 screens). Not word on a fix though. I really like the look so I'm quite bummed.
Also this one:
http://forums.developer.nvidia.com/devforum/discussion/6631/tegra-2-3-ics-driver-memory-leak/p1
I have the exact same issue. This pisses me off big time because it means I need to complete reboot the tablet to solve this. I am running the latest ASUS update as of this date (ICS 4.0.3) for the Transformer Prime.
The following error gets repeated over and over:
[ 06-15 14:56:33.460 563:0x233 D/OpenGLRenderer ]
GL error from OpenGLRenderer: 0x505
[ 06-15 14:56:33.460 563:0x233 E/OpenGLRenderer ]
OpenGLRenderer is out of memory!

Now, from what the previous poster shared, it seems we need to reduce the font size on widgets on the home screen. The question remains, how small do they need to be, when I look at my widgets, I don't even see any font I consider "large".
Did anyone solve this issue at all?
My Gmail was fine pretty. 28 update, but after the update it constantly freezes just after opening it. It's actually quite unusable as it is right now.
i seem to get this message regularly when viewing vids on facebook,"an unexpected error occured"does anyone else get this occassionally, was basically just wondering about it

Yes, that has happened before. Actually it did to me two days ago. Also, I started getting undue lag issues and processing speeds seemed tamed. I fixed this by a full reset of the tablet.
Do you use third party apk stores? Aptoide or Blackmarket? If so, you could have unknowingly installed an apk with a laced sniffing packet (in a sense a virus that wares down the cpu/gpu on certain uses). Its fairly common then what you think.
IF NOT,
Have you updated software, restored system apps, performed a titanium backup restore? This can mess with the issue you reported as well.
Hope this helps. At least you know a hardware issue would be the last of your concerns
I recently started using Dirty Unicorns 4.4.4 for my Evo and it's really great, but I'm having a problem. Any time I try to go to a HTTPS site from Google, I'll get an error saying "Connection Problem - net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR" or "Connection Problem - net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE" and I don't know what to do to fix it. I originally thought it was just the stock browser and the Gapps package that I installed with the ROM, but then I tried it on Chrome and Lightning Browser too and it's the exact same thing. For example, if I go to news.google.com it works completely fine, but if I'm on the Google home page and I tap News, which takes me to the HTTPS site, it always has an error message. I think it's only when accessing Google sites, I've gone to other HTTPS sites and it's been fine. It's not something wrong with DU necessarily, I've seen this issue brought up a lot in forums dealing with CyanogenMod, and sometimes about Chrome, but I've never seen a definitive fix or even a reason why this is happening to users with custom ROMS. Any help would be great, I'm not the only one having this problem and it would be nice to get an answer. It's preventing me from using some apps. Thanks ahead of time for any help if anyone has a solution or some advice.
Also I just noticed that it's also keeping me from seeing images in GMail. I wouldn't think that I'm the only one having this problem haha, if anyone knows any fixes I'd really appreciate it
