Is there any bluetooth/wired keyboard that works with the Touch Cruise and doesn't cost a fortune like most of those I found cost.

Interesting... I was looking at this keyboard on the IGO webset prior to purchase, and it was unclear to me whether it was supported by WM6.
Please can you confirm that you've used this successfully with an Orbit2 / Touch Cruise. Thanks in advance,
Roy.
I think it doesn't really matter wat OS your are using as long as you have bluetooth it should work fine, but I'm not sure.
I can confirm it works with WM6 on my Touch Cruise.
Hi,
I am using a Targus Thumbpad (ACB31FR)
I don't know about the driver because i have not installed it yet.
The keyboard works with the "native" support of the Cruise, without the é, è, û etc ... but it works like a charm. only ~55€ on the internet.

igo BT Keyboard
I have the iGo BT Keyboard - Fantastic, I now no longer carry the laptop to all meetings! I do not use paper and type everything - more environmental, cost savings, and not to mention meeting notes are typed up at the time!
It works really well.
Kind Regards,
Will
@louis and William Richardson:
I have an O2 Orbit 2 and am also planning to buy the IGO Bluetooth Keyboard as it looks really handy and isn't really expensive on the internet.
As I understood it, you have it working on a touch cruise/orbit 2... did you install any drivers or did it work "out of the box"? if you installed drivers, which ones?
thanks in advance,
rufmalan
Here is an older one, but the same price like stowaway (iGO):

The freedom input looks good but the igo is of a similar size stored away but turns into a large keyboard...... I would prefer it to be a full sized keyboard. I would then use it with my laptop as well.....
i think the igo does what says, a proper keyboard for a pda. the one above is another small keyboard! use the pda!
Will
@William Richardson: thanx for the quick answer - i think i will order the igo very soon. *g*

Yes, iGO is really amazing. I had one. Unfortunatelly there are several situation when freedom slim keyboard could be much more usable. I bet on both
to all of you who have an igo bluetooth keyboard working with the touch cruise:
i bought one yesterday, it came today and i was eagerly unpacking and installing it when... it didn't work!
i installed the drivers, reset the device and wanted to pair the keyboard with the pda, but didn't get the keyboard to turn "detectable".
i pressed the "ctrl"+"rfn"+"lfn"-combo - but without result.
the green led indicating that the keyboard is in detectable state flashed once, i entered a pin for save connection, and that was it.
the keyboard did not connect with my pda and does not react to the 3-key-combo any more.
do you have any idea what could be wrong?
i'd greatly appreciate your help, because otherwise i'd have to send the keyboard back - which i don't really want to do.
thanks in advance!
www.mymemory.co.uk are doing the iGo stowaway's for £20 delivered! I just ordered two!
Thought I'd let u guys know!

which driver for iGO ultra-slim BT stowaway?
What driver are people using for the iGO Stowaway Ultra-Slim BT Keyboard? If you look at their wesbite, the Polaris is not supported:
http://www.mobilityelectronics.com/support/Drivers.asp?ManufacturerID=13
I managed to get my keyboard going without a driver, its nice, but very few of the dedicated Fn keys work (or work correctly) and I don't see the keyboard icon on my TC screen in order to start 'training' the keyboard. I guess because I have no specific driver installed?
So which was is best?
Thanks
I use the drivers of the attachement. They´re for wm5, but works fine with my cruise.
alek77es- thanks very much
Couple of quick Qs:
1. How to turn off the anoying keyboard clicking sound?
2. cab also installed the mouse driver. I don't have one. (Any good?). Don't worry about it, or can I uninstall mouse part only?
Thx
iGo Keyboard Driver hangs Camera Album application
I have an Xda Orbit2 (aka HTC Touch Cruise aka Polaris) running WM6.
I can confirm that the iGo Stowaway Ultra-Slim Bluetooth Keyboard does work with it but there is a problem. Whenever the iGo driver is installed, if I try to open the Camera Album application it just hangs. If I uninstall the driver, it works fine again; reinstall it and the problem returns.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, does anyone have any suggestions for a solution?
Thanks in anticipation.
Apple wireless keyboard for me...
I had an Apple Wireless keyboard.. and after reading about pairing it with a ppc here: http://www.fortrel.net/blog/index.p...ows_m&page=1&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1&disp=single
I said why not give it a shot... and it works flawlessly.. super, as you may know the Apple wireless keyboard is not foldable, but its slim and light and shorter than a full keyboard. Very convenient to type long word documents. Worth buying it, looks super cool too.
This ROM is based CE OS 5.2.21040 (Build 21040.1.6.0). ROM dump for Rhodium test device.
TF3D2 is included but needs to be updated with the update patch from Xboxmod.
Please test bluetooth, bluetooth headset, activesync, GPRS, and all other basic functions. Please do not post about Manila bugs. I know it gives an error when it first boots and will fix it in a couple of hours.
Just want the basic functions of the phone tested for now to make sure it works.
Thanks!

DOH!
Forgot to add the link in my haste to get to class
Ill try and help you out here since Im a fan of your work, but if you just want the basic functions of the phone tested for now, why not use the first version of TF3D so that it eliminates the current TF3D UI errors. Then, when you want to test out to see how friendly the Rhodium TF3D is with this build, then include it for us to test? That way, if there are bugs we would be able to distinguish if its related to the new build/base rom or its its related to the Rhodium TF3D.
At0mAng,
Looking forward to the surprise awaiting in this ROM.
Keep it up dude.

I've only used ROMeOS over my past few phones and then a little RRE action but since I've used some of your cabs, the most recent one being the agps settings, and I think have some with your name in them on my site, maybe you know what time it is so what the hell, slow day at work, I'll flash yours even though I was up until 4am last night flashing and perfecting the latest RRE. Gotta have the bleeding edge!
Also I want to lock this useless post on your thread nice and early because if it's as pimp tight as I think it might be I'd like to give you a super silly fresh fast mirror and want to link it here.

I can not test any of the phone functions...phone is broke...I think we all know the story
Just so everyone knows...this is a rough beta...still need to clean sys and do some of my tweaking to it. Clean up icons and such...so be advised it is nowhere near to a finish product.
Okay, will reflash in a moment. Why are all of the Chef's phones breaking? My phone breaks, no cares but me, your phone breaks and all of us flashing addicts are lost! NATF broke his too!

just want to make sure all basic functions are working. bluetooth headsets, activesync, wireless lan and other basic functions.
i have a new build to post when i am done with classes today...
So far, so good. All of the basic features I have tried, worked as normal. I was able to connect to my bluetooth headset, phone calls have been made, texts have been sent. I entered in my connection settings and have been surfing the net on Opera. Anything else specific that you'd like me to test?

Yeah, BT has worked fine on multiple calls both in and out. The only thing I can't help you with is wifi, mine hasn't worked since I started flashing roms and I have yet to find a fix for it. ActiveSync works fine also.

Yes...I did not hex edit the shell.exe yet...I am still building this. I am basically going through all the DLLs and EXEs one by one to see what can be used and what cant be used. Before I went through all that trouble I wanted to see if all the hardware functions were working correctly.
THIS THREAD IS FOR THOSE WHO ARE PLANNING ON BUYING ONE OF THESE WATCHES...OR USERS THAT WISH TO SHARE BUGS OR PROBLEMS THEY'VE ENCOUNTERED.
I'll start....
First off, what is the true RAM of the AW-420/1? Ive read up to 2gb (421) and as low as 512mb...
What is the issue with the 201/421s mic? Is it an hardware or software issue? If SW, does Loki's ROM address this?
I am seeing many comments that criticize the IPxx rating...even simple washing of hands will cause leakage....comments?
I read in multiple posts on German based forums that users were able to install 32GB and 64GB SD, class 10 cards in the 421 and they mounted fine. Has anyone confirmed this?
Does anyone know of a vendor or retailer that is willing to ship either the 201, 420, 421 etc. to the US?
Or....is there anyone in EU willing to help US buyers get these watch's delivered overseas?
i can confirm 32 GB installed and working fast with X201

root and security patch 1.02 on AW-420
Hi, I just tried to install lokifishs root and security patch 1.02 on my AW-420 FW 20131230, but this simply doesn't seem to work. While adb is running a lot of error Messages are displayed, saying either that files cannot be found or that they cannot be written.

Hi, I just installed the TalkBack Screen reading accessibility Service from the Play store, but the button to turn it on is simply missing. It seems to be positioned outside the TalkBack introductary message window, but also cannot be focused using an external Keyboard. My hope was that this could eventually be fixed by installing lokifishs root and security patch, but as I wrote in my last post that doesn't work on my AW-420.
I allready read that the Firmware of the AW-414/420 and also the TrueSmart do have issues with the accessibility Services, but couldn't figure this out more detailed. For me accessibility / using TalkBack is essential, so what can be done to solve this?
Many thanks, nilix24

The sound on my to smart for phone calls coming in is great. But when I speak it is just garbled and in audible to the other end. I have held the phone in various positions to little avail. This makes no sense because the voice recognition apps are able to follow me reasonably accurately. Anybody else had this problem and does anyone have any advice?
Also, how do I adjust up and down the volume of the speaker for example for phone calls but for other things as well.

I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this question, but it seems to be the most logical place.
Question: Is it possible to choose your home screen or your last viewed screen as default when you turn on your TS screen? Currently, when you unlock your screen, it goes to the watch. I would prefer it to go to my home android screen.

I have one more issue I am trying to solve. I followed Daniel Ortiz's "GPS Calibration and Quick Lock Fix" https://plus.google.com/u/0/111628072657804333818/posts/5UyzcSadTmw
Everything worked as shown in the pictures, however, once I leave wifi, I still cannot get a location fix using GPS. This means I cannot use cycling apps, google maps, and the damn time is always wrong. :crying: Does anyone know what steps need to be taken after the GPS calibration guide to have GPS working properly?

To be honest, one of two things MUST happen.... Either we get the source and the dev community fixes...or we are given firmware that works. In regards to the BT and GPS, I think this is gonna be about as good as it gets.

Well the bluetooth is working great for me (thanks to all the developers on XDA who made that possible), and BT was the most important thing for me, so I can't complain. Of course, I wish Omate released a properly functioning product, but as a startup company, I do understand having these early issues.

I have to reset my headset a couple times a day. And my BT speaker has to be paired every time I use it. I don't have much need for the GPS, I feel the screen size hinders most of the apps I use.
Btw, It's not really Omate...the TS has many cousins....it's a combination of Umeox and MTK. Both parties have gotten dirty in this situation.

Good to know about the BT. I have yet to test the BT connection to a wireless speaker/headphones for an extended period of time. There were some posts in the BT tether rom thread that stated that using just the Ensec security patch and not the BT tether rom gave a more stable BT connection.

I'm using Operative. Super battery life...great 3G connection periods and signal. Stable and fast too. With all that the patch offers, I will live with the minor BT disconnects.
I wish that the onboard Mic/speaker get fixed. Without the headset, a SIM equipped TS is basically useless for calls. I've read that a few people have mentioned decent quality...but very few. I actually am quite surprised how bad the quality is for the caller. If needed tho, I found that if you cover the Mic while the caller is talking, this can reduce the echo and distortion.

Pairing a bluetooth headset
Hi,
I got a kickstarter model from eBay, and updated / flashed the ROM to 20140115.153703_V2.0.
On my Bluetooth page, there is no 'Scanning' option to pair a headset.
I can pair the TS to a phone, but not TS to headset.
I have the Omate headset.
Is there a ROM or patch to allow pairing?
I have tethering wrking, but that is WiFi, and i have had the companion working also.
I am now using as a full phone (sim card) and calls are ok, but would really like to pair a headset.
I just recieved a Lenovo A588T and it's a pretty good phone if you overlook the 512mb RAM limitation.
But my problem is when it comes to the keyboard, I can only use the physical keys to type numbers, even though the keys have letter imprints, so one would assume that typing is possible with them.
The phone came with AOSP keyboard so I think the seller may have flashed a international keyboard to give me a hand, and the phone language was set to english.
I've tried many keyboards that include options for hardware keyboards to no avain, even null keyboard and with all these I've only been able to type numbers.
Is there anywhere I can find a flashtool and the original ROM for this phone to check if the seller flashed an English keyboard?
How can I type letters using the hardware keys?
Also, there's a button on the top right that depicts a house and a heart, no idea what it does, if I hold it down on the homescreen it asks if I want to activate "easy mode".
Thanks
Ok, I flashed the original firmware using SP_Flash_Tool and an official ROM provided by lenovo, now I have a keyboard called Sogou Input Method wich does respond when I press the keys, but I can only use the spacebar on the screen and the predictions are terrible because it's intended for chinese input.

I'm wondering: Did you try or manage to root your A558t or get the Google Play Store working on it? I tried installing Google Play Services w/o root as an APK but it keeps crashing. Haven't had any luck with root either, I tried iRoot/vroot which was listed on lenovosj.com but it's not working.
Hi,
I have recently bought a Lenovo A558T and am also not able to use the qwerty keyboard but I am also a bit slow on computer matters so I didn't fully understand how you actually sorted out the problem.
Could you run me through it again on a blow for blow basis (treat me like a complete idiot) ?
Thanks
Mike
Are you in the US?
Which carrier do you use? From what I can tell, only 2G will be available in the US. I'm seriously thinking about getting this for my mom though. The current phone she is using is running Gingerbread...
What experiences do you have (other than the keyboard)? Did you root it?
Regarding the keyboard, since there are some software keyboards which simulated T9, I would think it shouldn't be difficult for them to add support to a physical keyboard which is providing only numeric keys as input. That is, their software may not work yet with a physical keyboard, but it would seem like it would be a good selling point for their T9-like input if it did support a physical keyboard... Maybe if you ask one of them nicely? For example, there's "(EvenBetter)NumberPad Keyboard", but I noticed it hasn't been updated since 2012!

Thanks

It looks like this is the only topic on this phone on XDA. I guess it's as unpopular as it gets.
E-Chan42, was your issue resolved? How is your current experience with this phone? Liking it? Hating it?
Anyone else anything to share? I'd love to hear your feedback!
Same problem
I have the same phone and using here in the US and I have the same problem with the keyboard. Since the number keys don't work as letters the lower bottom half of the phone is basically useless. I have searched all over and found only this thread so I guess I'm out of luck.
Yeah, sorry I've taken my time to respond, but here's what I've been trying with this phone.
I reinstalled the official lenovo rom with the keyboard app they ship it with. I CAN use the keyboard to type but it's a huge waste of time, because I can't activate non dictionary input and the sugestions it gives are pretty terrible. To the point where it recommends he'j'lo before hello.
I tried another keyboard https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.nyanya.android.traditionalt9&hl=en wich promissed t9 input and cycle key (like press twice the 2 key for b, thrice for c) but for some reason it doesn't work correctly on this phone, and only outputs the desired keys when you type at a snail pace.
So, to anybody considering this phone, consider another optionor develop a keyboard app.
Anybody got any idea on how to get this working? I'll upload a couple of pics so you get the general idea of what's going on.

I was thinking on trying to get my hands on a Samsung Galaxy Golden ROM and extract the keyboard apk, probably it will have international support but I can't find one anywhere
If you don't mind me asking, where did you find all your info (The official lenovo rom, etc)? I just received the phone and while I do like it a lot I would love to use the keyboard, even if it's snail typing.

Yeah, sorry I took my time, but I've been hella busy, here's a link I uploaded to mega with all the stuff related to this phone, flashing software and ROMs included https://mega.co.nz/#!mkAUHabD!ADPmm3AJzI0fIrLgIaS-AWJj51OtjPWXAfhqa-cA6bc
If anybody wants a mirror just ask
I've taken the time to write down my experiences on how to flash the device with a stock firmware by Lenovo, root with SuperSU, CWM recovery and Google apps. You can read it here: myrl.net/article/43
As for the keyboard, the best app I found so far was indeed the one @E-Chan42 already suggested: Traditional T9 Keypad IME - play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.nyanya.android.traditionalt9
Getting it directly from the Google Play store doesn't work however as the phone is not listed as supporting this app. Try to google for an apk (be careful where you go) or compile it yourself from the official source code: github.com/Clam-/TraditionalT9
Unfortunately I can't directly link to outside URLs and I just spent about 10 minutes posting this due to ****ing unreadable reCAPTCHAs. Thanks xda-developers!
That tutorial is spot on! I finally have my CWM backups back! I'm so happy!
Do you have any experience with the a588t dropping calls as soon as they're dialed? I can't get mobile data running either, my service provider is correctly displayed on my statusbar as well as my signal strength.
confirmed IB2K7 methods,
you will need to manually enter APN settings for carrier, I use cricket that piggybacks on the AT&T network and have not had a dropped call.
Yeah I set my APN as soon as I powered on my phone, still I think it's strange I my phone identifies my provider's name but can't dial out, same happens with every SIM card I've tried for different companies
Make sure your IMEI numbers match the label on the inside back of your phone. I fixed mine using imei tool from youtube watch?v=c_SRdyZ7DAk but there are a bunch of different methods
Thanks! That really worked! Somewhere along the lines of so much flashing I lost my IMEIs
Hi ya,
I've just received my A588t and having the same problem re-numeric only on keypad ! Did you ever manage to sort it, so the keypad functioned for letters as well as numbers ??!! Have to say it's doing my head in trying to get it to work !!! Kevin
Is there any new updates in regard to this? I just got the phone myself and found this thread. It's quite annoying to find that the keypad isn't fully functional.
If ever I wanted to make it work, do I need to do everything that IB2K7 said? When I got the phone, it's already in english and I could access the play store.

There is no need to flash the phone again if it's already English and has Play store installed. The only reason I did this was because mine didn't have Play store installed. So far I haven't found any better solution than what I've written before:

I haven't find anything around the net yet. I did find out the new Pilot has a radio running Android. I plan on looking into this more when I have a moment at work. I'm a technician at a Honda dealer. If someone knows of any hacks I should try, let me know. I presume any updates will be done using a USB stick so that's probably the best way in.

Same here I want to know too I just got my pilot
Waiting on someone to come out with a root on the pilot radio. I'm a 16 years Honda tech myself and pretty tech savvy. I would love to root this system and have full control of the system. I have seen that Honda is coming out with their own app store so we will see.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app
For anyone wondering, its running 4.2.2. It looks you can integrate with the USB ports as there is a way to install APKs with a USB drive. I would probably use a one touch root app as the method to get in.
I just stopped by a dealership to look and was poking around and found the app picker which has a browser, settings, and install from USB apps.

I just finalized my purchase of a 2016 Pilot and will have it by the end of the week. When test driving, I did notice the option to install apps via .apk files from a USB. I forgot to see what the internal storage capacity of the unit was, but I can confirm that it runs 4.2.2. I also recall seeing that it was WiFi capable, but I will have to confirm when I get it. Either way, it was a nice bonus to see that the infotainment system was running Android. I'll post again with a few more details in case anybody else is interested.
***UPDATE***
Just in case anybody cares........................the Pilot is WiFi capable. I connected to my home network and the unit installed an update. As of right now, the ability to install any app has been disabled by Honda. Attempts to install an apk via USB and the android browser from APKmirror have been negative. According to a poster at a Pilot forum, he called Honda who stated that the ability to install android apps would be added as a later update. Fingers crossed it actually happens. Many of the system options are disabled so I cannot see the storage capacity or chipset of the unit. It definitely has potential though......
I just got a 2106 Pilot Elite. When parked close to the house it connects to the home wifi. Browser works. Im definitely going to look forward to apk install too.
I did a PDI on a '16 Accord and it is running Android also. I haven't played with it more than what was necessary. I'm sure there well be some kind of usb based update like the old radios.

Clarion
If you head to Clarion USA website and then click the Get Support link at the top then Software/Update Download then on the left hand menu click the botton link for File Download.
All of the Android programs for the Pilot and Accord are available for download at the above link. I wonder if someone can figure out how to add CARPLAY from the Accord software to the Pilots
Does anyone have any updates regarding this thread? Still can't figure out way to get in. Thanks!
Found a few things.
Hi All,
I have a 2016 honda civic which shouldn't be too different from the pilot and accord. I had done some digging around a found a few things in the system. I have posted a link to the thread below.
(remove spaces in the link)
http: //forum. xda-developers.com/android/help/2016-honda-civic-trouble-unlocking-t3262516
I found the secret menu but was unable to access the developer mode since it kept asking for a "passcord"........
Let us know if someone figures a way around this problem.
I don't really know what it is, but it sounds quite amazing
I'm also curious about this!

I'm not on my PC but there are a few things to try to bypass the security on this radio. I'll get back to you on that later once I get my hands on my notes .
Please root!

Would love to see someone Root this device just for fun. Wish I had the skills.
Getting access to the apps and widgets. along with potential android auto implementation would stick it to honda!
I'd be more than happy to try a few things if I only had one of those car on hand .

Any exploits in 4.2.2 that could be accessed through the web? Vehicle has full web browser capability through 4.2.2 browser just no access go app store or apps....
There is one or two that I know of that have some chances of working. They might require some adaptations however in order to work properly as the OS might have been modified. I'll drop by by the end of the week with an update =) .

If you need another person to test things I'm willing. I've been digging around and they locked us out pretty well. I tried using the browser to download and install an apk and it went through the process of installing and asking for permissions but then said "App not installed". There are also a bunch of apps installed that we don't see running and can't seem to access, interestingly some are labeled "Mitsubishi".
