OK - name the 3 or 4. (Not saying you're wrong, but want facts!)
just anyother reason why dedicated hosting is worlds better XD
no wait times, fast downloads... only thing that beats it is dropbox (drop it in a folder and forget... but dropbox has some fairly crappy bandwidth limits

Yeah - I agree. I don't do dev like you guys, so don't need bandwidth for multiple users.
I have 3 RAID5 NAS servers at home on a gigabit network (Thecus N5500 & 5200Pro, and ReadyNAS NV) - total of about 14-17TB (depending on how you count bits). Since I'm always on the road - I have my own "cloud"!

Go, MultiUpload from now on in the Dev & Apps/Themes section from now on?
Absolutely REEKS of SOPA/PIPA (Also known as FASA, the First Amendment Sunset Act).
So why did congress say they needed SOPA now?
So they shut down a site who did nothing illegal, they just hosted illegal files that were uploaded by a third party.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, as I usually am, but wouldn't this be like shutting down Ford because drug couriers used Ford Mustangs to transport their cocaine?

Although it may seem like this was because of SOPA and PIPA, none have passed yet thus it can't do anything. yet.
Plus, a lot of the supporters don't care about piracy - they were sold out by corporations - so the bill isn't really aimed and piracy and won't stop piracy.
If you want some more (and probably the most informative) information on SOPA, head over to reddit.com/r/sopa.

Not exactly. A better comparison would be shutting down Ford because it was distributing drugs. The illegal files were contained/hosted on the website and being distributed by the website. Basically, megaupload had the files and was giving the illegal files to people.

This is what the DoJ had to say, it goes along the same line of what you say:
"By actively supporting the use of third-party linking sites to publicise infringing content, the conspirators did not need to publicise such content on the Megaupload site."
The owners are accused of:
"Copyright infringement, conspiracies to commit racketeering, copyright infringement and money laundering."
"Instead, the indictment alleges that the conspirators manipulated the perception of content available on their servers by not providing a public search function on the Megaupload site and by not including popular infringing content on the publicly available lists of top content downloaded by its users."

What I love about the whole SOPA and PIPA acts is that they only go after the sites that publish what they call "copyrighted material", but I've never seen any lawmaker or official of any kind in both sides of the table think about this:
In order for an unpublished album or movie (or whatever) to hit the web, the publishing has to come from with in. Most of the servers (to not say all) that host this type of information are offline (unless their System Administrators are dumb enough to give them freedom of access to the world...)
So my question is: Why is it that we never hear in the news about the people involved in steeling the media and publishing it? Why aren't there more strict measures against the employees who have access or close to that kind of media???
America has fallen captive of the lobbyists and Movie corporations and they plan to make our life controlled by their greed. Congress no longer remembers that as a Democracy they work for ALL of us, not a few.
Since this happen now there gonna say see we shoukd pass this bill i smell a setup on this bs

Not exactly. It would be more like shutting down a storage facility and arresting the owners of the storage facility because someone who rented or had access to a storage locker was storing illegal drugs inside. The only way Megaupload could police every file on their site would be to have access to every file AND violate the privacy of their customers by actively inspecting every file.

Moving to Q&A
Many of you know I'm currently getting my site set up. What you don't know is how I plan to help devs out. Due to the cost of hosting and free sites disappearing something needed to be done.
Well myself and several other devs plan to create a hosting network to share bandwidth between file servers.
The idea is when a user clicks on the download link the file downloads from the next server in the network. So each click changes servers without the user having to locate mirrors.
This makes helping out with hosting cheaper. So instead of one user seeing 1.5 terabytes and losing his hosting or getting charged, the load is spread out to reduce costs.
What I still need is more hosts for the network and someone who could help with syncing the folders across the network. I would prefer a cronjob written to sync the network.
So anyhelp would be much appreciated

It's $39.99 for sprint users. I'm thinking of getting it for mobile and I can just plug video out to my tv and stream it with wifi to the phone and hdmi to the tv. Seems like a good deal. If I pay for it for Android device and end up on another android device on like Tmobile I wonder if I can transfer it.

The blacked out Lakers and Clippers in the LA area for NBA League pass, freaking bs. So unless you have Time Warner Cable you can legitimately order it.
I am an LA guy, born and raised but I recently moved to Oklahoma so they are only in TV when they play the thunder. So I guess I don't really have to worry about blackout days.

Why did BallStreams close registration to the public?
We strive to provide the best service we possibly can. We feel that if registrations remained open, we wouldn't be able to keep the level of service our users have come to expect. This is being done so existing users can use the service uninterrupted.
What does this accomplish?
Temporarily going to an invite-only platform allows us to control the growth of our user base, and gives us time to add resources as they're needed.
