[Q] Help! x10A Constant rebooting - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When iam using my phone in like listening to music or just writting on whatsapp or playing games or using gps it suddenly restarts and when its starting it restart again , Sometimes i have to take out the battery and then try again.
Iam on Wolfs gingerbreand 2.3.3 v7 sneak peak room (PreRoted)
Baseband .71
Unlocked bootloader
Doomkernel v6 f/s
Already did a clean install from 2.1 stock room
Its happens randomly (But specially when phone is running larger apps like sygic gps, power amp, recording on stock and app camera, playing or downloading from market).
Anyone knows how to fix this problem?
Thanks

Overclocked CPU?

Nop using doomkernel fail/safe and fs room too

my girlfriend is having the same issue. we have determined it may be a faulty battery issue. but not sure.. i found somewhere through a google search that the cause of this is a bad battery. so sense we both have the same phone and im not experiencing any of the issues you and her are having i switched the two batteries. her phone now works perfectly fine and so does mine, but when i switch the batteries again to original phones her phone starts restarting randomly again. it really doesnt matter what app she is using. at first it was specific apps then eventually its become completely random. she wont even be using the phone and it will restart.
basically what im trying to say is.. try a different battery. or try a different rom. the rom could be your main issue as well. or reflash your current rom from a fresh new download. also try a different kernel
EDIT: btw i have tried the past few months to get doomkernel to work right. i have install several different versions of doomkernel and they have all ended up semibricking my phone. its only with this kernel. sometimes it will last a week. sometimes only a few days before i start experiencing problems. at first i thought it was a rom issue. tried several different roms with corresponding doomkernel and all ended with the exact same issue. never have i had issues with other kernels. try flashing a different kernel made for your rom.

thanks tsdeaton for your reply . will try to get a new battery and post what happens

btw thought i should update you on this and for those who have had a similar problem. it seems the battery was the issue. her sister got the same phone and just a few months later her phone was doing the same things. their dad got them both a brand new batteries and now both are running like new. its been nearly a month now on the new batteries and neither of them have experienced any random reboots or consistent app crash loops.

Maybe You have full RAM? It happens when Your memory gets full.

good idea. it might be the case for some. that is a common problem as well. but in my girlfriends case it was just the battery. flashing different roms, kernels, and using app killer apps did not solve the problem. ram managers showed plenty of ram and i even monitored the cpu and ram and even took a logcat. there were no issues with the OS or hardware. the phone would do a simple ghost reboot. there were no random spikes in cpu or ram usage right before reboot and logcat showed everything to be running normal. it was like the phone flipped a switch.

hi people
i have this issue
I try battery calibrate tips
you find in forum
and now my phone run fine
but my battery is tired
I see that,
when my phone reboot then hold power button,at reboot give me 3red led 3 time
And after boot,
it indicated my battery at 80% and reboot again
In this case the phone have wrong battery stat
Follow tuto battery calibration
Or when you have this
Go data/system/ and delete batterystat.bin
Poweroff the phone and charge 100 in off mode
Unplug charger and reboot

How I forget to do that ?
Seriously man,
it's not simple like you said !
I try reflashing many firmware(1.6 2.1 2.3) with wipe all but off course doesn't solve anything.
The phone give red blinking 10 times at boot or when it sleep,i plug charger then it give red led before yellow.
So,
what the led(red) try to indicate me ?hmm
THE BATTERY IS DIE ! ! ! ! !
that's it.
Ps,
nothing guy's at
(sony ericsson,SFR,or phone dealer find the issue)
they SAID your phone have hardware problem,or your phone is die,try reflashing FW,blablabla.
Mhuaaaa !!!!! Ok
Conclusion,
if you have trouble
with your phone on stock rom,
I know it's hard but
try to understand correctly
(message debug,led alert,ect...)
before listening stupid by other
And do something wrong.

[Q] Galaxy S2 automatically turning off ..!

I'm on Stock KL1 ROM for my S2 .
I'm facing a weird problem with my S2 . Every once in a while ( like within 2-3 days ) , my phone gets turned off automatically ( or freezes , i don't know exactly ) , and i don't know this until either someone tells me that he was calling and it came switched off OR i myself pull out my phone to use it but find it off
And the restart it pressing the power button doesn't work . Nothing works & I then have to hold Power+Home buttons and then it starts .
I also had this problem in the earlier KF3 ROM , so i updated to KL1 this week and today i again faced it . Made a batch restore of all user apps with TB after i updated to KL1 .
Is it a hardware issue or app conflicts .?? Is there any way to know what causes this .?
Some monitoring app / Log collector that logs misbehavior / situation when the phone gets shut on its own and then retains the statistics / log when powered up again .?
Have watchdog , but it does not report anything ( apart from the suspended linux process which is the Android system bug ) . And there is no way to know since after restarting watchdog does not maintain its notifications .
Please advice what to do .? This feels very weird when phone turns off on its own .
Here is a screenshot from battery monitor pro widget :

The phone automatically shut off at 08:43 & i restarted it at 08:58
You have a recurring problem, which can be:
a) hardware issue
b) app issue, even if you changed your rom, your apps are still the same, since you restored them with TB.
So this is what i would do:
- flash a stock rom, (let's just say KL1), and install only your essencial apps. Only those that you can't live without. This is just a test you need to "survive" only 3-4 days without your apps
We need to determinate that you problem is hardware or app related.
Happened to me too when I upgraded to KL1 stock. The phone kept restarting no matter what.
I finally factory resetted the phone, then cleared the dalvik cache etc. then flashed to KL1 Indian official firmware using odin - then installed the apps manually (did not restore the backup)
Now its all okay.

Alright , but its not just a matter of 3-4 days . Sometimes this problem recurs after 2-3 weeks . The frequency is very random .
Isn't there any way that i can have the log recorded so that the moment the phone turn off , what causes it can be recorded in the log and then we can find the issue .?

By restoring apps manually , do u mean one by one with TB or manually using the market .? And what about app data .?
And , So Can i restore app data only with TB for all apps after installing them one by one manually .?

take a look, all it ever display are these 4 things.
even after i use chrome to online for more than 15 mins, it never appear in battery usage.
even default things like android OS and messaging app and other normal stuff that usually appear are missing.
what could be the cause of this?
i reflash the siyah kernal using cwm flashable zip and tried using odin to flash the tar file, but still same problem.
in extweaks, i just underclock it to 1Ghz as max, and 100MHz as min.
other settings remains untouched.
forgot to mention, i also tried clear cache and dalvic cache, still same issue :-(
try wiping battery stats in recovery under advance option then reboot the phone wait for some time without touching the phone and then check batt monitor

I did that as well. But not working.
Is this normal for siyah 3.3.2?
Flash the latest Siyah Kernel which is v3.3.3d. I believe the developer sorted a few issues with Kernel Wakelocks and battery issues. Give it a go and report back after a while, not immediately. You have to let these things occur first.

i found the thread above.
in the first post, the author posted his stock battery stats.
look at the first screenshot, just like my situation,
at 47% remaining, it only display the following 4 items in battery history
sceen
voice call
standy
idle
usually stuff like apps, android systems, android OS and other apps that are used will be displayed.
i think this is an issue with siyah.
you mention you are using 3.3.3d
have a look at your battery history, are they only 4 items in there?
i think this may be a siyah thing, it doesn support stock battery history monitor.
edit:
the stock battery monitor is fine after i flash dark knight kernal, it display all the stuff like apps that i used.
this makes me feel siyah is the problem.
if any siyah kernal users would be so kind to confirm whether this is normal siyah issue or whether my phone has problem with siyah. thanks
sigh, just tried siyah 3.3.3d, the latest one,
same thing, no info in battery history other than that 4 items.
whats goin on here, siyah is such a good kernal, but this missing feature is just sad.

I´m using a stock 4.0.3 rom and siyah 3.3.2 and the same issue with the battery usage is happening here. I also optimized the kernel on CWM to battery saving. I´m not sure but as far as I remember this issue was not happening before I´ve set it up this way.
do you know any older siyah version that doesn cause this bug?
i dont mind using an older version

i used the ultimate cleaning scrip,
but problem persist. i think siyah dont work well with samsung rom stock battery monitor.
3.2,3.3,3.4, even the new 3.4.1 also have issue.
i recently learn how to dual boot, nice stuff.
on resurrection rom, battery monitor works perfectly,
but when boot into secondary rom which is sensation rom, battery monitor not working.
so yeah, siyah hates samsung roms.

Battery Percentage jumps from 50% to 16%

Hi Guys,
I would like to ask for some advice regarding my GF's S2 Battery.. it seems that I'm in a dilemma which of two is at fault. Occasionally, whenever the battery hits 50% and I'm doing something CPU hungry apps like games or stuff.. it jumps from 50% to 16%.
I've already tried:
* Wiping battery stats in recovery (Using Philz)
* Flashing a new kernel
* Wiping Dalvik and Cache
* Fixing Permissions
and I still experience the ridiculous battery drain. Does anyone has an idea what could be the problem? Could it be the battery itself?
My GF's S2 is using Wanamlite 13.0 and Jeeboo kernel at the moment.
Any advice would be very much appreciated
Try a clean install of stock. Then try a new battery. If you've had the phone for a while (given the SGS2 was released over 18 mths ago), the battery could be on the way out. Even 12 mths of constant use/drain/recharge can finish a battery off depending on how often you repeat that cycle.

Flash to Wanam 12.8 or a version which is ICS.
Wanam 13 which based on LSJ is a leaked version that many users reporting problems with the battery performance.
After you try the ICS version of Wanam, you will see that battery performance is now stable.

I use last syiah kernel . I will update my signature when from pc
I tried all wipes .. I think it will be gone when i pass to jb . But that wont be before 4.2.2 maybe coz im really satisfied now (and jb isnt stable yet)

I used to have this behaviour before my USB port broke down completely.
Download android assistant, using this app it tells you which apps are using the most CPU, maybe she downloaded a game or something which uses alot of CPU.
Well to those who are interrested that was a battery problem.. I used a non genuine adaptator that damaged the battery progressively

[Q] i9100p Bricked while recovering previous save of rom

Hi
I will try and list everything i can i suspect i will not be able to fix this but thought someone might have some insight as to how it happened.
Whats Wrong:
No signs of life, no boot screen, no recovery mode and no download mode. I have held down the reverent buttons for over a min and i get no response from the phone. Have checked its not just a flat battery, its been charging for 2 hours and same response whether plugged into charger or not.
What I was doing:
The Phone was the stock Rom that I had rooted (I use the orange signal boost app at home, and didn't want to lose it.) I decided to change the menu icons for my apps to a matching set and was using APK editor to do that. Knowing that messing with the signal boost app could mess it up I created a backup of the Rom using CWM before starting and then tried changing the icon and re-installing signal boost. It failed and the app would not run when I tried to re-install the original. So I booted into recovery mode and told CWM to recover from the backup i had created. I left the phone and when i came back it was blank and has been ever since.
Phone details
Orange Uk branded i9100p
running android 4.0.4 stock (rooted)
As I said I doubt this is an easy fix but if anyone can give me a hand i would be eternally grateful. Failing that is someone can shed some light on what went wrong so i can avoid it in the future that would be great to.
Thanks

[Q] Know Galaxy S2 country of origin

Hello
I have a Galaxy S2 factory unlocked and I wanted to know the country of origin, because I want to update to JellyBean but it constantly says that there are no updates when my country has already updated. So I was said to download the kies of the corresponding country of origin of the phone.
So what can I do to check the origin or update it without rooting? (Ive checked in sammobile using firmware, csc, etc and nothing was found)
Thanks in advanced
Check where was it made.
You won't know what was the first firmware it had because android overwrites firmware with firmware.
You could track the IMEI, but that's a hassle.
Upgrade with odin / mobile odin and that's that.
Sent from the little guy
And how should I update with odin? can i do it without rooting?
Of course.
Sent from the little guy
Sorry to bother you with lots of questions, do you have a little tutorial or some step by step on how to update with odin without rooting? (i dont want to mess the things up)
And from what country should I download the jb rom?
Thanks in advanced
You can flash whatever ROM you want.
For guides, check the general forum or FAQ (all sticked threads).

It's easy there are lots of posts out there,
1.Go to download mode on phone
2.Connect to PC after running Odin via usb
3. Select your firmware usually something.tar.md5 in pda
4.Make sure Odin has detected your phone
5.Start Flashing.
Better read about the don't do's before doing anything.

Do you know if I can flash some other custom roms like super nexus or cyannogenmod without rooting or changing the recovery like ClockworkMod?
No, that you can't.

Hi
JB is working great, the phone works much better, but im having a terrible battery life. Speacially when the phone is in stand by mode and I cant find what is causing it (when its in stand by I lose like 5% to 8% per hour). The battery manager that comes with android isnt saying much, and Ive trying disabling google now and all the google maps location services in background. Before installing Jb I made a wipe data and cache just in case.
What could be the problem?
Media scanner maybe?
Sent from the little guy
I dont really know what is it. But now that you mention it maybe it could be, because when I open the gallery the phone gets really hot for a while, even when I already closed it.
How can I solve that? (without rooting)
Set your external DCIM as default for storage (camera settings).
Move all files from your internal DCIM to the external DCIM.
Sent from the little guy
I think they are all in the external memory, because I flashed the new rom and wiped all the data but all the photos remained there, since I always use the external as storage for images and music.
Check your internal DCIM to be sure there aren't pics or videos there.
Sent from the little guy
Ive checked and its in the sd card DCIM, I dont know what else I can do, Ive charged the phone while it was shut down, and when it was 100% ive turned on (still connected to power supply) and after 2 minutes of use the phone went 99% of battery (being connected to the power supply) :S
What else can I do?
Well, we are assuming it's media scanner, maybe it's not.
Post the battery details.
BetterBatteryStats will pin point what's draining the batt.
BTW, create a new folder in your internal SD, call it DCIM.
Reboot.
Sent from the little guy
Ok, Ill get a screenshot of the battery stats and ill post it here. I cant create a folder in the internal memory (it says permission denied in airdroid).
Here is the battery stats, Ive barely used it because Ive finished charging before going to sleep. (airdroid was opened just 1 min ago to download the files I dont have it always open)

It's wifi.
Turn it on when needed and your battery will last 2-3 times.

But with ICS I left the wifi turned on without any problem. Also in the battery history its using 2% of the battery. I think that theres something with the OS thats draining the battery. Maybe I should turn on the battery saver with the cpu limit. I dont know what else to do
