Just called them this morning, did not even know they where going to be selling them. The said they filled pre orders on a first come first serve basis. I went to the store and pre-ordered there, and received my 32 GB champagne Tablet withen 20 minutes.
*NOTE* they only have the 32 GB Champagne color.
Unfortunately it is a Christmas gift, so I will not be able to give any information on it.
EDIT: They will apparently ship even though it says in store pickup online. Just use the Chat.

I went there with no pre-order and did like a switch-a-roo and pre-ordered it in store just so i can be on the list of people that can pick one up.

I called. CSR rep said they sold out in minutes. New shipment in January, he said.
In any event, just chatted with a CSR and he said they're out of stock.

i called on the phone and got one.. they are shipping it to me.. he said there was 3 left and he had 28 web chats for the same product to be shipped but i got one of the 3.
Well if you live in Illinois you might be lucky enough to get a Champagne model. They definitely don't have the Grey in-store yet.
I just called for an online order and I was told I'd have to wait until mid-January if I ordered from them.

They told me in store that they would receives a trickle of tablets everyday so I'd call every day as they seem to be the most helpful.
I bought mine from Kevin if that helps.
they charged my card and sent me an invoice.. my guess is tomorrow i will get a notice that it will not ship and i will be out the money and have to wait for them to refund my money.
This is getting ridiculous. They are showing up in flashes at places we never expected from all the announcements, then they are gone before anyone can react!
I've never chased a pre-order like this before - completely out of control....

Got an order in with a CSR. Started an online chat session right after I saw this thread open. Originally the CSR said that they didn't have any of the models in, but then said he'll check one more time.
After a couple minutes, he told me they had 5 left of the Champagne 32gb only. They had originally received 15, but 10 were accounted for by preorder.
He then gave me his telephone number and told me to call right away.
I called, and we went ahead with the order. Luckily, I've already been an ABT customer, so all my info was in the system. Just had to give them my credit card info.
Chose 2-day shipping, and was told I should get it on Friday.
I received a PDF invoice through email, but my order isn't showing up online yet ( crosses fingers).
This is absolutely crazy. I've had preorders in at 5 or 6 retailers, and it's come down to this?

My Amazon "Pre Order" for the 64 gig version says releasing at the end of January early February. I have had this thing on pre-order since December and I am kind of getting tired of waiting.
Is there an actual brick and mortar store I can drive to that has this thing in stock anywhere? I don't care if its 32 or 64.

I was waiting for the same thing, but I don't think it will happen soon. Not when companies are selling out online in under an hour (sometimes minutes). Sorry.
I finally heard about NowInStock.net and signed up to receive email alerts (I chose only stores that had brick&mortar in my city). It only took 2-3 days for something to be made available.
Also, remember that the longer you wait the fewer the hardware defects should be (except GPS of coarse ) so thats a happy thought. Good luck dude.

Yes there are local stores selling these. I bought mine from a Fry's retail location in Atlanta (Alpharetta).

They didn't have docks when I was there a couple of days ago.
There is a thread about how to special order a Grey dock by walking into Best Buy. You should be able to get a dock within a few days. I did it and it worked like a charm.

You can check store availability for the Gray Model now.
Still not in stores, but, going into a solid day 2 of availability on Best Buy's website tells me the initial onslaught has slowed to a crawl and they should start to flow from the other sources (Amazon. Abe's, etc.) and perhaps start to show up in brick and mortars.
Before this I had not seen it available for more than a few hours at a time. Also, you can now go through the "proper" searches on their web site to find it "in stock" (i.e. computers>tablets>price>bingo!) where before you had to search specifically for it (almost "back channel" it).
Can't help but wonder if the known issues arising has slowed demand to this point or if this has occurred naturally.
BTW, mine is scheduled for delivery today by EOD. Yay!
You can check Google Product Search and Milo.com as well. Prime has been showing up in few local Best Buy stores as IN STOCK.
I ordered mine from OD on Wednesday and I tracked it. it's scheduled to be here on Monday. I called and ordered it. Also I called and they said they didn't have it. Then I called back to see when they'd have it and they had it. Then I called back with my payment information and they said they were out. Then I called back to see if I backordered it if the coupon would apply and they had it and now according to UPS it'll be here Monday. So perhaps it depends on the person you get. Oh yea the automated thingie said they were OOS as well but when it sent me to the CSR they had it. weird.
I really wanted a 64GB model but don't wanna wait, and 32GBmicrosd cards are cheap enough to make me order. best buy site says it can't be picked up but shipped to me. Should I just hold out for the 64GB model?
That's the real question, when are the 64GB models gonna start showing up I'm stores, not too picky on colors

Best Buy should have the Grey 32 model still in stock, ordered one a week ago got it a few days ago. Unfortunately I had a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen so I had to exchange for a new one. I just called today and they are already sending me a new one so BB should have plenty in stock. Besides in a week everyone will start to have them in stock.

Well the issues are pretty minor to me. I don't quite care that the bootloader is locked. Asus is very sparing with the customization. Also I won't be using the tablet for GPS, since the only really useful GPS requires a 3G signal and my Galaxy Nexus handles that just fine.
This tablet is still top dog in my book and I am done waiting for others.
BTW, mine is scheduled for delivery today by EOD. Yay!

Just went to my local bb store this morning in Ithaca NY and they had the 32 gb prime in stock with the keyboard dock. I purchased one and I am loving it!
I've been going to the local BB near me to check the availability of the Prime for about 3 weeks. On Saturday, I visited a BB to purchase a case for my daughter's cell phone. I Checked to see if they had the Prime. This particular store had just received their shipment. They only received 1 tablet. I immediately purchased it. Very happy so far.

I added one to my cart on their website and selected ship to store. I put in my zip code and it showed that a few of the stores had them in stock, but most were a sip to store option 3-5 days. So maybe if you tried that to see if any store near you has them in stock. If it claims it on the website, call the store and ensure that they do before going so you won't get your hopes up.

I tried the vestal store on Saturday and they didnt have any, but will do ship to store and have it in a couple of days.
I just got mine at BB. Walked in to kill time and decided to ask because I saw the shelf tag. They just got 2 in their shipment and myself and another guy both asked about it at the same time lol.

So I called the BB in our area which shows the Prime in stock. The lady I talked to said they didn't have any, so I told her I saw online they had it. She finally admitted that they have it but are not allowed to sell it until Sunday the 29th because she says the Prime will be on their Sunday ad.
What if I just went there do you think they would sell it to me ?
I would go in and play dumb. Tell them that it shows it in stock in the store so you came in to buy it. It's easy for them to deny you on the phone, but in the store it's harder. If they try and deny you the buy, ask to speak to a manager. Also see if you can buy online and pick up in store. They would have to sell it to you that way as well.

Oh, and the lady also said if I ordered and did store pickup then the order would be cancelled because they are not allowed to sell it yet. Not sure how they can do that ... some guys in this thread have already purchased theirs in store just this week ...
I would ask to speak with the store manager at that point. It's a binding contract once you buy. If they cancelled it on me after I bought it online and drove to pick it up, I would want some kind of retribution, kinda like a restocking fee if I bought it and returned it because I no longer needed it.

That is very strange. I did a search of the Best Buys in NYC and noticed that a few of them showed them in stock online. I spoke to the rep at the Chelsea store and they had just received a few of them in stock today and she put one on hold for me to pick up tonight.
Been checking BB online now since late late December. No BB store within 100 miles has had any. Just so happen to check the independent BB Mobility stores and they had one! After a 2 hour round trip, I finally have a Prime! Very nice so far. Very hesitant on the ICS update tho, looks like it can bring more heartache than joy.....
Ok, so this morning i found out one of the BB's near me had some in stock and the others are ship to store, so i bought one for store pick up. When i got there the guy told me that this morning they were informed that they are not allowed to sell it yet but since i was able to do so online they sold it to me anyway
I checked again BB's website just now and the ASUS prime now shows unavailable for all stores and the ship to store option gone ...

That sounds fishy....I can't imagine they would not sell it to you if you were there in person. Especially if you talked to a manager and made a big deal about it
UPS delivered my Prime to the repair center in Grapevine, Texas three days ago. I checked the status again today and it still says
"You have reqeusted RMA no. for the machines below; however, they have not been received by us."
Has anyone else had this problem?

If you wanna talk about bad, I had a 1G ipod nano that got recalled, called it in Nov16, Box didn't show up until Dec 22, didnt get checked in Until Jan 16, and since then its been "waiting for product replacement" It is now almost March.
I dropped off mine myself as I live a couple cities over from the facility. Dropped it off last Thursday and have a new one I'm typing on now. So here's my timeline:
Thursday noon: dropped off
Friday: no change
Saturday: no change
Sunday: no change
Monday: around 5, RMA status finally showed received WB5 waiting
Tuesday: no change
Wednesday: no change
Thursday: around 5 showed new s/n shipped w tracking # (actually shipped 1 day prior)
Friday: in my hands, no communications via email
actually I emailed Asus and asked if I can drop it off myself, no response. So I just went by and they took it, gave me a form to write what was wrong with it and proof that they actually took it (the guy's signature).

I called in for an RMA with some heavy backlight bleed. They wouldn't pay to have it shipped to them and quoted me a 14 day turnaround time. I asked if he was serious and then returned it to the store. No thanks.

I sent mine in registered mail and I called them when I knew they had it. My theory is that they have a turn around time limit so they don't acknowledge the receipt so their repair time still looks good.
After I complained the next day it was getting repaired. The next day it was waiting for parts. Ironically the keyboard dock arrived 8 weeks after the tablet and now the tablet is waiting for parts.
Two days later Fed-Ex was shipping a unit from California. Got a new one with a silver top. It doesn't match the blue keyboard but still looks good (I'm not waiting 8 more weeks).
I don't know if it is the new top but the GPS is definitely improved as the GPS will bring in ~ 5 satellites in my study when I never - ever saw a hint of a satellite on my older tablet indoors.
Anyone thinking of sending in an RMA - make sure it is registered and traceable.

Some people see the CG as "silver" and the AG as "blue" or "purple." So, I'm sure he's saying he received a CG unit to replace his AG unit (although why ASUS would do that is beyond me).

So about 2 days after my Tablet was in the repair state it moved to WB5- Waiting. It has been there ever since (approximately 3 weeks now). I talked with Asus and they offered me a full refund on my device.
Guess I'll play the waiting game to see if I can get the Prime available elsewhere and then cash in with Asus when I order it. Though, they'll probably get stock before anyone else does, so maybe I'll just end up with a new one through them.
Just wanted to post this for anyone interested in whats going on with their Dongle or need to place a hold on it before it gets to them. On the VIP site your status has to have changed to "Shipped". Don't blame me if you check while "submitted" and get nothing although some have reported success! This is also only for North American shipments.. overseas do not ship FedEx
Go to Fedex.com and Track by Reference Number.(Here) Copy this:
TF201DONGLE - "INSERT MY SERIAL NUMBER" - GRAY
Replace the quotes and insert number with your Serial # and make sure no spaces are between the dashes. It should pull your package up and also provide you with the actual tracking number. You may need to adjust the country where its going if you are international as well as date shipped if it might have gone out over 15 days ago.

Not working for me.
I tried both of my serial numbers. One has been received and the other has not. Neither give any information other than "No information for the following shipments has been received by our system yet."
Others in the Got my Dongle and Product Updates thread are reporting success, so either you're doing it wrong, or the label hasn't been printed yet. Make sure your serial is correct and your tracking by Reference #, Not tracking #

Thanks! Works! I already received one of the two GPS dongles I applied for. Did exactly as instructed and I was able to see the shipping information of the one I already received. Now I'm just waiting for my Champagne color dongle to be shipped. I am moving by the end of the month so the address I submitted will no longer be current. I'll use this method again when it finally ships to re-route it.

Same here. I am thinking of starting a thread for us in this situation late next week if nothing happens since no one at Asus has any idea whats going on all they do is read scripts say they'll call you back and nothing. FedEx told me I have to contact the shipper which is them. Technical email same thing 4 days to get a script saying call the # - run-around!!

Last time I checked that is today but the only thing in the "time line" graph is initiated so mine is sitting somewhere other than with me or in a FedEx facility/truck.

Not to get technical but we paid $500 for the GPS to work in our actual unit. At least its in the specifications on my C1. I dont use it all the time myself and don't really care about performance but when GPS test sits at 0 thats plain defective imo. I just want the fix thats been offered instead of reading everyone getting theirs yet ours supposedly shipped the 18th and theyre sitting somewhere and noone seems to know a thing. We aren't the only ones so hopefully by the end of the week or next week they start moving otherwise I think its going to be a pain in the you know what trying to get any information about whats going on internally there at Asus.
I registered months before this was even announced on the VIP site and I still have yet to even recieve an email talking about this offer at all. Talk about how VIP Asus treats us man!
Thanks OP. This worked for me. Unfortunately all FedEx has is the shipping information was sent. I had the shipping confirmation from Asus on the 18th. They can't be out of these things can they?
Possibly or they are waiting to send another batch out at the same time. On another board a guy posted his tracking info and the first label time was exactly the same 11:18AM and his shipped fine got it today, was supposed to recieve mine today its been sitting on "Initiated".. just don't know hopefully they update I signed up for email notification when it starts moving because I need mine held for pickup
Worked for me. Cool. Unfortunately it just says "Shipment information sent to FedEx" as of Apr 18.

I have... quite a few coming, aprox 40 (institution, cheaper than ipads and android ftw) roughly 30 say they are shipping on the vip site, so far none of the ones i checked say they are in the fedex system yet.... oddly there are roughly 10 that are still recieved (not shipped), does this mean they ran out and are waiting on a new batch? who knows.... asus seems to be boggling this quite badly, but as others have said im getting it for free, why complain?
Just to clarify, there is no space between the -s and there are no " marks correct?
*edit* OH! one just popped up, shows it was picked up this afternoon should be in my hands friday, just in time for the weekend to test it out! woot!

They are coming from California ... you and I are on the East Coast. Its going to take about a week or more to get here. Slowest possible shipping method through Fedex. Mine shipped the 23rd. Wont get here till the 30th.

Thats the difference between yours and ours at least you have a delivery date! His sounds like mine if you look at the pic in the OP there has been no change after the label has been received for a week now and is waiting for pickup. Which means the package is still at Asus. Mine was originally scheduled for 4/25 and now theres no date.. all FedEx tells us is contact the shipper.. and Asus knows nothing.. all we can do is wait and keep checking!
