Hey Guys,
So I've launched an NFC based game and since the US is currently lacking the concentration of NFC enabled phones, ie the Nexus S, Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Nexus, I was wondering if anyone had experience selling US apps to the S. Korean Android Market.
I've already checked off the box and converted from USD > SKW, but since my app's gameplay is very region specific, for example I would need to change my assets from American celebrities to say K pop stars. Should I just create a whole new developer account?
Thanks!

I wanted to buy a Samsung Galaxy S II. The webshop where I would buy it, has a pre-order price of 549€: http://www.smartphoneshop.be/product/123781/samsung-galaxy-s-ii.html
However that model is without NFC chip, so I cancelled my order. They also told me that Samsung will not release an Galaxy S II with NFC for the Belgian market.
So my only remaining option is to buy one abroad. I'm not asking for generic web shops, I ask for very specific experiences with web shops that are able to deliver to Belgium.
I have also found out that there are different variations of the Galaxy S II. As far as I know, these are the main differences:
processor: Nvidia Tegra or Exynos --> for now, it's equal to me.
display: AMOLED or LCD --> I prefer one with AMOLED
NFC or not --> I really want one with NFC.
I already know that the UK is out of the question (for now), because the UK models don't have NFC. I read somewhere that models with NFC may come available for the UK in the coming months, no date confirmed yet. Maybe in June? If that is true then I can wait another month, no problem.
How about other neighboring countries? Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy,...
Of course this would have to be a phone that is not locked to one telco.
I have not found the answers of these very specific questions in the FAQ. Why am I asking this on XDA-Developers? Because I want to dive into Android development, and I have some ideas that include NFC technology. And why a Galaxy S II? I was in Barcelona at the MWC when Samsung launched it, I got to play with it, and I was really impressed.
So far .

Thanks. I overlooked those, and I guess my initial search was a bit too generic.
I have a 16gb wifi tab from South Korea. Do the same rooting/flashing methods apply that are currently available to American tabs.
If no one can say, is there a way I can check so I can offer this information to others who will be purchasing the tabs over here?
Thanks!
It should be the same, root still revolves around SU and Busybox.
The only thing I would worry about is a locked bootloader, if you have to flash it with the North America one, it might not work.

Hey shanmc, on your Korean version of the TAB do you have the reader's hub with kyobo, yes24 and other Korean bookstores linked to it? I'm hoping the US version comes with those or an option for them since I'd like to purchase books from those stores.... I have the 16GB wifi US version. Enjoy your new tab!

i too would like to know this
as i will be in skorea in about 3 weeks i would like to know if it is worth while to buy a galaxy tab 10.1 with wifi (and probably UMTS as well).
is there already a known opportunity to root and flash the galaxy tab 10.1 to an european version of android or a kind of stock rom without any korean widgets or korean specific customizations?
cheerz
All wifi versions should root using this process. It is the verizon lte tabs that are buggy.
If any mods are around, I sure need some help on the LTE 4g version tablet and how to root the thing. The instructions appear to be the same across the net but, the verizon tabs go black after booting back up and trying to get into recovery??
smh
I am sick of this waiting game and have to buy a phone soon, so i was wondering if "Galaxy HD" is supposed to be releasing soon within a month or so... Or shall i go ahead and buy sumthing else like a Note.
i know no release dates are officially given by samsung but if past history is taken into consideration when shall i expect it in Asia & Europe ?
Its out in korea, don't think its coming anywhere else.
like peachpuff said, it's out in Korea, been out for few months now, but you can only get it by signing up with one of the Korean telcos, KT or SK. And it will be locked to the carriers.
I hear SII HD LTE is being prepared for US release and people speculate that Canada, Australia will soon follow. But I'm afraid by then, SIII might be just around the corner.....
Also SII HD LTE comes with 1850Mah battery, which I think is not enough juice...should be 2000 at least...
I'd say go with Note. Or wait for SIII if you can hold off buying new phone...
hmmm..... i actually wanted to know if anybody here is aware of samsung product launch tactics in general and frm tht if we can predict the approx worldwide launch date.
Also, its completely offtopic but whats the Equivalent LG phone for Galaxy HD?
It's know as LG Nitro is USA but whts its name worldwide ?
I couldn't find anything official from Samsung regarding SII HD LTE for overseas release.
But regarding your LG question, it is known in Korea as LG Optimus LTE. I believe the phone is available in USA, Canada and Japan.
Edit: It is also available in Australia, also named LG P930 Nitro HD

Thx buddy for the info. - I have madeup my mind and going for Galaxy Note
Hello everyone, first I want to say that this is not a piracy post, I paid for all my apps in Japanese. I'm a huge fan of Japanese Pachinko and Pachislot, in the past I used to trick google store to buy my stuff from there but of course now it doesn't work anymore so I was wondering if there's a work around as stupid as it can be (for example going to Japan, buying a Japanese Play Store card, saying that you are in Japan, connecting in Japan and buy the apps) I'm 100% sure that once bought the apps is available for ALL your devices connected to your account (tested with paid and free apps), I have a friend who live in Japan and that can be "manageable" lol but a pain in the ass also.
Does someone as an easier solution ? I contacted the company and they said that they are not going to put it on the market OUTSIDE Japan, never... So I'm a bit doomed with the new apps (the other solution is to buy an retina Ipad, creating a Japanese account and Japanese gift card *that's what I did sadly to have the apps*) Anything is welcome here...
Thanks in advance, my current "phone" is a galaxy note 8 and I also have a galaxy note 10.1 (both rooted)
Im presuming there a precedent/example for nexus OR htc tablets to have voice capability in xYz market/cellular bands?
I will be happy to import one from anywhere at any price, I just need to know where in the world to look/expect it to show up?!

The best place to look for would be in India. A lot of people see telephony in tablets as a pre-requisite and most OEMs include the said feature.
But, sorry to say, nexus devices are the same everywhere in the world. Both the generations of the Nexus 7 that were released in India did not feature telephony/voice capability.
