I was searching around and could not find a gel/TPU type clear case for the G1...for those of you who do not know...here is one example of a Nexus One case like what I would want:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Soft-Case-TPU...t=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item746a91e417
I know they do not show a completely clear one, but that is the material/type of case I would like. It is not like a typical silicone case -it is slightly like a hard case being that it does not bend as easily and it is not floppy at all.
Any ideas?
Heres the problem that I see...
How would you open the keyboard with that cover overlapping the front of the phone? That would probably be the reason those style covers don't exist for the G1.
As my fellow Oregonian said.. Soft cases and a slide keyboard won't really work.. If you look at the hard shells you'll see how the screen has it's own little part that clips on.. soft shells wrap instead of clip on...
I fail to see why they could not have a separate piece to put on the screen...?
If there is no such case... then could someone recommend a thin, yet tough, hard case? (preferably clear)
soft cases can't clip onto the screen part that has to slide up...
but here's something i found with decent reviews for the other colors.. clear hasn't been rated yet

Yeah I understand what you mean and thanks for that info...but - I was thinking not of a soft case 'clipping' onto the screen but you could slip a cover over it or around it -I am SURE there is some way to do it....
I think this is what you are looking for:

LOL WOW THANK YOU!!!! How did you find that ? it should not be labeled as silicone (I think)..... wow that is exactly what I am looking for! I knew it was possible.... any way - I wish it didnt cost so much, the others I see like it(on other phones) is significantly cheaper (like under $5.00 with shipping included).... If I cannot find any cheaper ones I will order that one...
Thanks again, I cant believe you found just what I was looking for...

yea that case is rocking . I as well was looking for something like this! Thanks!! hey erebusting did you order it? did ya like it?
I ordered the clear one, and it came in yellowish like it was old or like someone was smoking around it or something.... the seller gave me a refund because he said they had no more, but I think that all the clear ones were just as yellow ? who knows....
also when you hold the phone in portrait mode on the top right and left corners of the keyboard section the case left a small gap on each side maybe about 1-2 millimeters as if it was slipping off...
Other than all that I liked it, but would not use it because it makes my phone look yellow / ugly... if I had a case like that with these flaws fixed then I would use it.

LMAO...Reading this was funny for some reason
Can you post some pictures? And would you recommend it? I am looking for a new case for my phone, and this one is one that I am considering
I had this case. I had a screen protector on, and the extra height of the screen protector made the screen portion of the case slip off. If you don't use a screen protector, it might work for you. I bought a Seidio case and never looked back. Super thin, rugged plastic. Comes in black so it blends into the phone.

zinite, I understand that, but see I do also have a screen protector on but the section of the case which goes on the screen is fitting fine, the section for the body is the part I have the complaint about. I will definately check out some Seidio cases now that you have mentioned that.
SolemnWishing, Here are some pictures of the case next to a clear hard case (which is actually clear and not yellow...)
Ace42, glad you got a laugh! haha...BTW I am wondering why you were laughing though, kind of odd to me ATM...
WOW! that case is really yellow. i was thinking about getting one thinking it wont be that yellow. but that is definitely gross smoker yellow
Dang... it looks like someone left that out in the sun for like a year or something..
Guess you know what happens to these cases when you have em for awhile... I've long given up on G1 cases: with a simple screen protector you should be on your way. I love the feel of the back of the G1, and a case would only screw that up.

I also love the feelings of the G1 without a case, but I have dropped my previous phones too many times to take that chance... haha
Any ways... Those pictures are from the same day of receiving that case, so it must be some fault on the seller....
its really a disappointment since there are no other cases (that I can find that is) like that for the G1...
any other recommendations/ideas?
i thought i remembered seeing a thread a while ago about this but i couldn't find it. Just got my new dock from office max and, wow. That's all i have to say. Just wow. but my question is can you carry it around as you would a laptop? more specifically, i'm asking about the screen. The keys feel rubber like, so they won't be scratching the screen will they?
There are 3 rubber standoffs on the dock that help to prevent the screen from touching the keys.
Ah, brilliant. Didn't see those. thanks friend
Alright guys,
Does anyone know where I can get one of the little rubber feet that cover the screw holes in the keyboard dock? One of mine has disappeared and its seriously driving me crazy.
Thanks

I had the same problem, the rubber feet on my TF201 came off and a screw fell out. I was able to find an exact fit replacement feet and screws. I sell a repair kit for the Transformer line of tablet keyboards on eBay, Item Number: 171002444894, Seller ID is Wathnix2. The auction shows pictures of my keyboard after the repair.
Do anyone have advise on replacing a couple rubber spacers which rest on the dock and are intended on keeping the tablet sitting off the keyboard when docked and closed? My dock has the front one missing closest to the track pad. I cannot find a replacement online. Whenever I use the dock and tablet together and carry them around for an extended period of time, after opening up the device I can see a mark on the top center of the tablet screen from where it was touching the gap (of where the missing rubber spacer used to be in the dock). Sometimes the mark on the screen is quite difficult to remove with the Asus cloth they provided us all with, the one provided to use on the tablet screen for handprints and smudges et cetera.
Sorry for the long post, any advice on where to find a replacement rubber piece would be much appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

this is a follow up to my comment abbout the dock

Just to clarify, i believe they are called rubber grommets. i just need to get one for the dock. That said, does anyone have a spare i'd be able to purchase or know of a retailer that is willing to sell the item to me? A push in the right direction by one of you fine devs/owner/operators would help me out greatly. I'd rather not go the RMA route with this problem. I have a bad feeling it would take too long to get my dock returned to me going that way. Since I use the tablet + dock setup for college courses beginning up next week, I'm going to need a quick solution.
Still looking for advice, thanks
Greg
Hello everyone!
I don't know if this is the correct place to ask this question but I'll give it a shot.
I bought this TPU case for my Z4 Tablet (been using the same kind with my Samsung phones and tablet) but was very surprised to find that it has an opening in it with no corresponding port so it is leaving the top right corner (same corner where the LED light/status light is located) exposed. Is it a design flaw in the TPU case or did Sony put some antenna or something in that corner that must not be covered up? If someone here knows why they did it like this, please enlighten me.
I attached an image to this post to show what I'm talking about.

I have the same (or a similar) case and I wondered same thing. My best guess is that because this is a pretty tight fitting case, the way you would put it on the tablet is to fit the other three corners first and this one last. This little opening allows you to insert the tablet into the case with little tention. Without this opening you would have to exert an undue pressure on to the tablet frame which can scratch or even dent the corner. So although it exposes a bit of one corner I think this was a compromise they had to make in the design.
PS: the picture you posted seems to be of either the lower right corner or the upper left corner. my guess is that you mirrored the picture before you posted it.
