There's a website that charges you around 50$ and install ffc for u. Send me a pm n I can share the link w u coz im not sure if im allowed to do that here.
Hope that helps.

I would suggest giving it a shot. I was nervous the first time opening my device...especially when it gets the point of removing the two pieces (I swore I was breaking it xD) But it's not that hard, and maybe takes 30 min altogether by yourself. Removing the paint is a pain, this is true...but $50 for an install is rough for something that anyone can do. I would do it for free too, but I am in Chicago sadly.
Good luck though.
Hey Oka1 (moderator) and Solissfiend (in Fairfield, CA) are both in or around the bay area. Maybe PM them if you want but I suggest trying it yourself. Scary sure, but worth it and self-satisfying too.
Yeah! I was scary and nervous the first time. But I did it. Then after that, the next few more times were easy.
If you want to do it yourself. I suggest you to buy the tool kits on eBay for $5.00
It helps you to open any phone or small devices easily.
How much the ffc cost if u want to install it urself?

FFC Clarification!!
Amazon's got them [FFC] for about 18$ Version 2 which is what you want.
Get a stiff guitar pick and some small screwdrivers from harbor freight.
Nail polish remover, Q tips and some alcohol, and you'll do it with very little stress!
Remember, if you pay someone, they will charge you about 40$ to 50$ for the camera= HW and about another 40$ for the labor and shipping!!
So Unless you have deep pockets and money to burn and waste and can do without your Vibrant for a week!
I suggest you do it yourself
Depends on whether you want to save serious money or just pay thru the nose and be without your phone for at least a week, your choice!!
Its an incredibly easy MOD to do!!

I'm officially a Go Phone carrier now. My phone off the bed this morning and face planted right on my tiled floor. LCD is demolished, glass perfectly in tact. Man it sucks so bad. iPhone 4 is off at the shop having it's battery terminal soldered back on and I really wanted to use my GS 2 but the LCD is like 150 bucks.
Anyone had any luck with AT&T giving a one time warranty replacement for issues like this?

With the deductible being $150, I really saw no point. I can't afford to shell out that much every time something goes wrong with my phone.

Suck man. Same thing happened to my Captivate. The SGS2 came out 2 days later thankfully.
Maybe you have an upgrade lying around somewhere and can get a skyrocket for 199?
If I were you, id be hunting around for someone who broke just the touch layer and is wanting to part with their paperweight. Also, I was under the impression that AMOLED's are on a metal plate or some such, not a glass screen like an LCD? maybe I'm wrong?
Save up and just buy a replacement screen.

What kind of credit card did you purchase it with? Some cards (american express comes to mind) offer like... 60 or 90 days of accidental damage/theft protection for purchases made on it. So check with your credit card company.

Any HELP WOULD be greatly appreciate!!!!
4 days ago me and my wife bought notes. I recently discovered today that some spots on my phone do not work with the s pen. So i decided i need to take it back and exchange for a new one. But right before taking the phone back my phone was dropped and received hardly noticeable dents/scratches on the phones side on the metal. You have to be shown most likely before you even realize it has dents/scratches.
Will i still be able to return it or hope they just dont notice it?
Thanks for your feedback!!

Was the purchase made at a corporate or dealer store, or ordered online? It'll be inspected at a corporate store, probably not inspected at a dealer store, and if it was an online purchase, the warranty department will try to get you to put a hold on a credit card till yours is shipped back because they seem to try hard as hell to not do their job. At all. You might be able to appeal to the manager of that store to let you swap it. Can you post pics of the "damage"?
Thanx for the quick response and to answer ur question. Yes it was at corporate store. But i don't want to return it just want to exchange it.

Yeah, I got that much. It shouldn't be a problem if the damage isn't too noticeable, but it's iffy. There's a certain amount of discretion given to managers so you may luck out. Please post pics when you can...I'll try my best to give you an honest evaluation of your chances.
Actually hold on a sec ill get some
EDIT..... NEVER MIND CENT TILL TOM

Safest way to do this is.......exchange for different color.dont tell them about defect it had.then they will blame on u. because u droped it.
Let's wait for the pics before we make any call like that. I say that as a current AT&T RSC and former third-party sales rep.
best bet is do the return over the phone if possible. call them and they will send you a device, on reciept of the new phone you will mail the defective one back. i have had the same problem as you with dropping a phone right before exchanging it and it worked out ok. good luck!

Not exactly the best way. If the damage is too extensive, or a grumpy person inspects the phone when they receive it, his account will be charge for the full price of a phone, and there's not much you can do about it without a lot of hassle.
The best thing for him to do is post pics on here of the damage, because we have many AT&T employees on here who could probably make a fair assessment of the damage based on AT&T's stipulations, as I'm sure they've had to deal with returns like this before.
That being said, to the OP: you should be fine unless the case is deformed or there is a huge scratch through the paint. I once returned my old Captivate due to a faulty external speaker, and i had scraped the paint off of the front speaker grill so it was silver, and I had a gouge on one of the corners that was still noticeable but I had smoothed out with a little very fine grained sandpaper followed by steel wool. Sanding it out will probably not work for you on the chrome-ish border of the Note however.

Could you maybe get one without a light reflection directly on the damage? It's a little hard to tell how bad that is. Your best bet either way is probably to go into an AT&T store, and see what they think about getting it replaced. If you have a device service center in your area, they can do an exchange on the spot for some devices, depending if they have it in stock.
The Note's too new. DSCs won't have any in stock and the only reasonable alternative is to exchange it in store.
As was said, if you can get a few more pics that don't focus directly on the damage, it might give us a better idea of what we're looking at.
This same thing happened to my phone and I never even dropped it. Right in the same exact corner. I pull it out of my pocket one day and bam the silver paint is gone.

Hi so the other day I dropped my phone cracked the screen. So I've been calling a few places that do screen repair most places don't have the amaze parts in stock. One place that said they did have the parts told me it would be 180 dollars for parts and labor... Does that sound responsible? Or ridiculous ? I don't have insurance on this phone I've reached the limit.

That's probably the cheapest you'll find, I got prices ranging from 100-300 to change blackberry screen which is way more simple to change, I just did it myself, but it's a risky thing to do, so it's upto you if you wanna spend the amount or take the risk to do it yourself.

There's still some options. I recently smashed the digitizer on my sensation. I just bought the replacement part off ebay for about the 30 usd and do it myself.
There is nothing to these phones when you pop them open and alot of htc official disassembly videos are on youtube.
Even if you don't feel you could do it youself. I would get the part from ebay and take it Local.

Check around a bit more, don't just give in yet, always good to check for more options, might find it cheaper if you're lucky.
What about finding a used Amaze off Craigslist. I have saw a few for 225 give or take, then get the part for tour Amaze and learn off it in trying to repair it yourself and sell one. May make a profit off it.

my friend and I just bought a 3d Printer but it won't be here until November, if you haven't started producing by then, let me know we can start making them.
To calculate your cost of materials I would print a prototype, before cleaning check the weight of the materials and calculate it from there. your average cost of printing material in both PLA and ABS is approx $25 a KG.
So say the case printed (with print structures included as that's still material used) weighs 30 grams (HIGHLY doubtful it would weigh that much. the note weighs 178grams) your break even cost for printing materials would be 75 cents. If you were to add $2 for your time and the energy used to produce it you'd be making at least a buck take home. Then you have shipping materials, if you plan on sending it in a nice bubble wrapped envelope that's another buck plus shipping cost which wouldn't be more than another buck or so. So in practice I would say if you were to charge $5 you'd take home a buck from each one. I know that isn't a LOT of money, but for $5 I'm sure everyone here would buy one.
--EDIT--
All the prices I gave you were intentionally high. you can get the material for as cheap as $18 a KG retail and if your engineering teacher is purchasing it, the cost of materials would be even less, your weight of your case will probably be half that reducing your cost even further. I'd hazard to guess that your total cost of just the printable material would be in the ballpark of 30c a unit. the rest of that money is all pocket able not to mention because you'll increase the number you produce per roll you're looking at a profit of about $112 and 66 units a KG of material vs $41.25 and 33 units under my previous price points assuming you still sell it at $5 each. NOW all these are ballpark assumptions and I haven't delved in deep with these figures so there are factors I haven't processed.

Let me talk with my friend, but we might be able to work something out offline if you were able to provide cad models for us to print out based on devices. Also I delved a bit more in the pricing in my previous post based off material costs and other factors and I wouldn't be surprised if your engineering teacher changed his mind if it was lucrative enough.

Are they offering open enrollement for phones not purchased at BestBuy?
Verizon is and $110 would be the cheapest way to get a new phone replacement.
I bought my Note 2 on ebay last year for $200 and cracked my screen with no warrenty.. called Verizon they have open enrollement right now. Only question I was asked was whats wrong with the phone?"screens cracked" New one in the mail next day..cancel the insurance afterwards if you think it's a rip there's no contract on insurance.
I've never dealt with BestBuy so maybe they can fix it right now cheaper then $110

No they wouldn't fix it now that it is broken..but I do believe they offer insurance on phones..but a: they either have to purchased there or b: you take it in and they (geek squad) exams the condition of the phone and then decides from there

I have a question regarding open enrollment for Verizon insurance.. I cracked my screen on 2 separate note 2's and apparently asurion dropped me months ago. Now I came across this thread and was curious as to if the open enrollment is indeed factual. Any idea? Thanks a lot

@tennisjunkie I used this open enrollment insurance about 1 month ago.. He said it was ending in March or April. Call ASAP and I'm curious to know when it ends myself.
Good luck
Just called Verizon warranty and they said it ended on March 17th. He said they will have it again in the future, he wasn't sure when. Good luck maybe try mobiletechvideos.com to fix it.
Thank you for checking. That is a bummer. I tried fixing one and it was a disaster. Any other options or insurance?? Or am I soL?

I suggested previously send it to mobiletechvideos.com I haven't used them but there highly trusted by people on XDA for there work and have a clean professional website with fees posted.
Mobiletech does great work. Honestly you can get led combos off of eBay for like 130 and it's super easy to change yourself.

This. I bought the full assembly (AMOLED+Digitizer+Metal Frame) from this guy:

And followed this tutorial (there were some small differences since he used a Global N2):

With some patience and a mini-screwdriver I was able to bring a Note II to like new condition. If you get the full assembly with the frame you should be able to restore the phone to near factory state. I definitely wouldn't try replacing just the glass, or even glass+digitizer without the frame, there's too much risk and you're never going to be able to get the adhesive just right.
@funnyperson1 I thought you had a cheap fix for people with cracked screens it's the same price to have a professional do it lol
Heck... I seen a sweet looking mint VZW SCH-1605 - stuck in a simple bootloop on ebay sell for $150 today free shipping
Sadly there is no cheap way on the note 2. I mean if you wanna risk doing just the glass and curing loca glue then yea.

roflcopterssoisoi is right, there isn't really a good cheap alternative for the Note 2.
You can replace just the glass and reglue yourself for $30, but it's risky and probably won't come out right (at least I know it won't if I do it).
You can get a professional to replace just the glass for around $125 (that's what MobileTechVideos charges)
For around $80-123 you can replace the lcd, digitizer, and glass but that still requires melting adhesive, prying, and hoping you don't mess up.
For between $120-150 you can get lcd, digitizer, and frame and replace the components yourself. This is what I did and it was pretty easy, hard to mess up.
For $200+ you can have Samsung, MobileTech or someone else replace the screen for you.
For me the decision was easy because the digitizer and amoled were completely dead, otherwise the MobileTechVideo repair for $125 is appealing. Still, for a couple bucks extra and an hour of my time I like the idea of having a like new, non-damaged assembly.
Yes almost all the options are expensive, but a working Note 2 goes for $300+ on Swappa and eBay. If you repair it and resell it, you'll probably get your money back. You could probably repair it, use it until the Note4 is released and still get your repair money back.
If you had another phone to use you could even sell the parts for a cracked Note2 for more than $200 total. The motherboard is going for $150-180 on eBay, selling the cracked screen and other parts may add up to $100+. You could certainly get enough to buy the bootloop N2 and fix it via Odin.
