Sometimes when i plug my other evo 3d in to charge it the light flashs red green red green when its pluged in ti charge?? And where it shows how much battery is left there is an exclamtion piont threw the battery?? It go's away and comes back.. Has anybody ever heard of this happening?? I try to flash diff roms and nothing seems to make it stop?? ITS HAPPENING TO THE EVO 3D THAT IM SELLING SO I NEED TO FIX SO I CAN SELL IT.. I DONT WANT TO SELL IT LIKE THIS..
Its a faulty battery...try wedging something between the bottom of the battery to make sure the problem is not cuz the battery's loose. I had the same problem when I first got the phone. Wut I did wuz replace the battery n that did it for me. So your problem is the battery not the phone.

The issue you're having is very similar to what happened to my laptop. I would plug my laptop in and it would give me the charge icon for a split second, then it would disappear. If i moused over the battery, it said "x% (not charging)"
The battery still worked to power my laptop without any issue (until I drained it completely) but it wouldn't charge, whether it was on or off, and I even installed Ubuntu as a dual boot just to see if it was an OS issue (which I knew it wasn't in the back of my mind, but I didn't want to believe it). Sounds like you need a new battery.

So I thought I'd calibrate my battery today... I completely drained it, powered it up like 10 times so it had no battery left. Then I took out the battery for one minute, inserted right back and plugged the phone to the wall charger. It has been charging for about 5 hours(I think more) and still the led hasn't turned green
When I touch the back of the phone it's warm so that means it's charging still... Is this normal when calibrating the battery or should I try starting it to check the battery condition and forget about calibrating? Thanks in advance.
edit: ok, I unplugged the charger cuz I have to go out... and the red led was still going... no wonder :/ So remove/reisnert battery, boot up android from nand. Battery 99% already I guess this calibration has pretty much failed right?
So no one knows anything about this? I tried to calibrate again last night... The red led again got stuck. What could be the cause of this? I reflashed radio recently so I don't think that's it.
Does anyone has any advice? I will try charging with power on, see if it will fully charge and if green led will turn on. And then again with power off without letting the battery be drained completely and see what happens. I hope nothing's wrong cuz I'd hate to have to return it
I also would like to know this.

Tried this aswell n the phone was on 99%. the voltage was also wrong when its 100% (4197, i beleive its ment to be around 42xx or 43xx). Tried deleting batterystat.bin from system but not sure i followed the right procedure after that (take bat out, charge, deplete, charge). a dedicated thread for this would be nice.
Did you try leaving the phone off and leaving it on charge until the LED changed to green. u may have to leave it over night. 15+ hours. Not sure if this works.
I tried it. The thing is the led wont turn green. When the phone is off and charging the led wont ever turn green and when I pull the cable out the red led doesn't turn off. It get stuck until I remove hte battery.
However when the phone is on and charging the led WILL turn green. I'm getting crazy over this. Can sb plz heeeeeelp?

You wont be able to do a calibration in NAND Android, which i'm guessing you are using, because i have the same problem.
The only way to properly charge the battery and get the green light is to wake up the device, plug the charger while the screen is on and leave it charging.
I got 50 hours +10% out of moderate use with one full charge - phone on, and i am happy. Same as WinMo ROM.
I haven't seen a solution for this one yet, but i hope someone is working on it.
oh, thanks so much for clearing this up. Yes I have nand android too. I'm not complaining about battery life, it's very good. I just did the battery calibration out of curiosity and bumped into this issue. Glad it's not hardware or battery related and I hope someone fixes it eventually.
ok, here is an odd problem... will try to explain it as good as I can... with my poor english.
got a GSM model here. after rooting the phone, I updated once for HTC clock wiglet then all the sudden the phone won't boot. it stuck at the HTC logo with the white screen, and then after a short moment, it vibrates then reboot again. and it keeps doing this again and again. guess thats normal among androids? but I just don't know how to fix it. as I checked the recovery screen. it got s-on again. not sure if that is the cause of the problem, but again, I dont really know hot to fix it.
so I was thinking flashing the phone again? but another funny thing happened. the phone doesnt seem to be charging. the orange/red on the top right is staying on for a couple of seconds then off for a couple of seconds then on... so on and so forth.
I am afraid it was the USB port that caused the crash of the system so I think I better ask here first before I do anything.
Anyone has experienced anything like this? or has any idea whats going on?
thanks in advanced!!
forgot to mention. the orange/red indication light is going on and off with and without charging
Anyone?

Sounds to me that your battery is empty. The reason it turns off after you turn it on is because it turns on, sees the battery level low and shuts off to prevent the battery from getting damaged.
The blinking light is common when charging a dead battery. Let it charge for at least 30 minutes and see if the charge light turns solid.

I left it charge over night n it's still playing up. But anyway, I have send it back for warranty. Thx all the same!

So guys.... I woke up this morning and my phone was dead. Last night I plugged it in and it was charging normal (I used a new USB cable and not the one I am using a year now)... Anyway I woke up this morning and I pressed the power button and nothing came up.... I took off its battery and pressed the power button for a bit....then plugged the battery back in and the usb as well.... A dim red light came on....and then the usual charging light came on as well for 2-3 secs...and then it died.
I also tried to plug it on my computer....and the phone turned on and went to HTC white screen for 2 secs and then it turned off as well...
I am not sure what else can I do so if someone has any idea can you please enlighten me....because I am going nuts without my 3D!
The phone is s-off with clockwork recovery and cool ICS rom...and it was working perfectly.
PS: I noticed there are some red stripes on the battery...on the water indicator..is that okay?
That happened to me when my battery was severely drained, I needed a clip charger to charge the battery... Now I do not let my phone go off due to battery drain... Because it will happen again.. I believe that your battery is also degrading.... Just like mine. It is not also advisable that you use a different charger especially if the output power does not match. So don't let it go off again due to battery drain. Just my experience.

I am using that apple charger for like 4 years now on different HTC models...no problem at all... I think that new USB cable did the damage....the phone wasn't charging... and it drained the battery down...

yes please..... because its driving me nuts...that dim red light and the bright one for 2 secs is a kick in the head for me!!! hahaha btw its kinda odd that it tried to start on my computer USB??? it flashed the HTC screen for 2 secs !!
Just install 4EXT recovery as soon as your phone boots and you're good to go without the drain bug forever

One thing you can do now is really to charge with a clip charger. Unless you want to wait forever charging the battery in the phone. Because your priority is to make your phone boot. When you made your phone boot you can then charge normally.
well guys you are not going to believe it.... I plugged my phone in to its HTC charger and went downstairs to eat...in the mean time...I switched on my tabled GSM module (I have 2 sim cards with the same number...)...so i went upstairs again and called my number to see if my tablet will pick up the call..... and my phone suddenly started ringing! Anyway problem solved with patience!
Two hours ago, I was playing some game on my DX, and suddenly the screen went black. Just like that! I tried Power button, vol down&power button, but nothing happens. Computer can`t recognized the device, but led lamp is red when it is plugged.
Do you guys have any idea what could be?
And yes, it is all stock, unrooted.
Please help, this is happening in worst possible moment, I desperately need my phone!:crying::crying:
Hmm did you remove and paste battery ? Maybe low battery ?
Seems like your battery was dead. Charge it for an hour and turn it back on.

Your battery is overheated, that's why the led is red instead of orangs when charging. Open the device and remove the battery.
Let it cool down for a couple hours and see if it will charge afterwards. If not you need to send it to a HTC repair center

No, I am afraid that all of you are wrong. Led is actually orange, not red. I took the device in local shop (not HTC authorized) and they told that my battery is ok. If battery is ok, what is wrong then? Guy from that shop says that it might be software, but I really doubt it. Any idea?
If Its a Graphic heavy 3d game then Its beacuse your phone over heated. Or did so while on charge, just take the battery out for a bit and give it a full charge
P.s.... The people at the HTC shops dont really know alot about their products so i wouldnt take too much notice of anything they Told you

Last night before I went to sleep my phone battery died, woke up and now it wont turn on at all and it doesn't charge. I tried different chargers but that didn't help, i just tried it in my computer, it's on the charging screen right now, there's a battery icon with a yellow triangle next to it. When the screen goes off, there is no red LED light to show it's charging, any help please?
Edit: the led light is flashing red now.
Try another battery, or wait and see if the charger recovers the damaged one. You may find partition damage, search and read for hundreds of similar threads.

I bought a new battery, but now I think the charging port is damaged. There was a lot of dust in there and i managed to get it out, but still no luck. I can connect to PC and it recognizes my phone, my phone is connected to my pc right now and i'm using it at the same time and the percentage goes down very slow.
