So guys.... I woke up this morning and my phone was dead. Last night I plugged it in and it was charging normal (I used a new USB cable and not the one I am using a year now)... Anyway I woke up this morning and I pressed the power button and nothing came up.... I took off its battery and pressed the power button for a bit....then plugged the battery back in and the usb as well.... A dim red light came on....and then the usual charging light came on as well for 2-3 secs...and then it died.
I also tried to plug it on my computer....and the phone turned on and went to HTC white screen for 2 secs and then it turned off as well...
I am not sure what else can I do so if someone has any idea can you please enlighten me....because I am going nuts without my 3D!
The phone is s-off with clockwork recovery and cool ICS rom...and it was working perfectly.
PS: I noticed there are some red stripes on the battery...on the water indicator..is that okay?
That happened to me when my battery was severely drained, I needed a clip charger to charge the battery... Now I do not let my phone go off due to battery drain... Because it will happen again.. I believe that your battery is also degrading.... Just like mine. It is not also advisable that you use a different charger especially if the output power does not match. So don't let it go off again due to battery drain. Just my experience.

I am using that apple charger for like 4 years now on different HTC models...no problem at all... I think that new USB cable did the damage....the phone wasn't charging... and it drained the battery down...

yes please..... because its driving me nuts...that dim red light and the bright one for 2 secs is a kick in the head for me!!! hahaha btw its kinda odd that it tried to start on my computer USB??? it flashed the HTC screen for 2 secs !!
Just install 4EXT recovery as soon as your phone boots and you're good to go without the drain bug forever

One thing you can do now is really to charge with a clip charger. Unless you want to wait forever charging the battery in the phone. Because your priority is to make your phone boot. When you made your phone boot you can then charge normally.
well guys you are not going to believe it.... I plugged my phone in to its HTC charger and went downstairs to eat...in the mean time...I switched on my tabled GSM module (I have 2 sim cards with the same number...)...so i went upstairs again and called my number to see if my tablet will pick up the call..... and my phone suddenly started ringing! Anyway problem solved with patience!

Its a evo 3d and it waas rooted when i bought it. i got a new samsung so i stopped using the 3d and like after 1 week it won't start now. its got a orange/red light that turn on and off with like 10 second intervals. and i tried a few chargers, and battery pulls and vol down + power button and nothing. i hooked it to the computer and doesn't recognize it what could be wrong with it
It takes a while for the battery to go from completely depleted to charged enough to power the phone.
If after 15 minutes of being connected to an AC outlet it doesn't stop the flashing, then maybe something else is happening.
This happened to the EVO 4G a lot. I've never let my phone get drained enough for this to happen, but it sounds familiar.
Leave the battery out overnight, then in the morning, put the battery back in and put it on the charger and leave it there. You'll be fine.

Ok i'll try that bro! how easy is it to Unroot this phone????? just curious
Hi, so I recently put the BAMF custom rom on the phone last night, and it seemed to work alright, I got a couple of random reboots and bootloops, but I figured I would fix it in the morning, so I left my phone on the side, and in the morning when I woke up, it wouldn't even turn on, I've left it plugged in for a couple of hours into a wall charger, the front and back of my computer and nothing. If I take out the battery, and plug it in, the little orange light does appear at the top for about 5 seconds then disappears, nothing on the screen though at all. When it is plugged into my computer, I do near the noise that means it recognized something was plugged in but that's it.
Thanks
Neil
This is why you don't use clockworkmod
Your phone died somehow and is unable to charge because of clockwork
You have to charge the battery either in another phone or with a battery charger
Good luck

What recovery ?..if clockwork recovery sounds like battery ran down . If so search clockwork charging problems and you will find numerous threads with fixes. If you can get into hboot I would flash amon ra recovery then let phone charge.

I flashed my phone last week and it has been running great until this morning. I forgot to plug it in last night and the battery was dead when I got up. I plugged it in to charge it fully, when i went to turn it on the screen is black, the digitizer buttons light up but nothing else. I have done countless searches all day to see if I could figure out what happened, I think the lcd is dead. Would it behave this way if it bricked?
Im on Hboot 1.50 S-ON
Shooter_S_Sprint_WWE_2.17.651.5_odex ROM
Recovery: TWRP 1.1.1
Thanks
I doubt that it would be bricked. Sometimes if the battery gets too low, the stock charger wont charge it. If you have a separate battery charger, try that. If not, you can take it to a sprint store, and they can "boost" the battery so that it can fully boot up.

The battery charges, I left it on the charger for a couple hours. I got the green fully charged light, when I goto turn on the phone the digitizer buttons light up but not the lcd. the phone can receive calls its just that I cant see anything.
My View is rooted S-off and last night my battery life was bad but I had it plugged in so I continued to play with it. I think it finally died and the power button led began to blink. Now I cannot get out of the recovery. If I choose "reboot system now" it goes back into the recovery. If I restore a backup that I had it goes back into the recovery. If I unplug it and reboot, it shuts off and the light stops blinking but I can't turn it back on. When I plug it in again I get the same problem. Please help......what do I do?
I just got my view (used) the battery was very dead. When its that dead. Plugging it in will have the blink orange instead of a solid orange. I couldn't do anything with it till I let it charge up. I let it charge for 16 hours ( with it off) before the light finally went green (the stock charger seems a little wimpy to me).
I would say stick it on the charger (with it off) for 24 hours and see if it just needed a long charge.

I could give that a try but it won't stay off. I try to reboot from the CM recovery and it boots back to the CM recovery and the screen stays on. I can't even restore my nandroid backups because it dies before finishing. I've had it on the charger since yesterday so hopefully that light will stop blinking soon.
Hmmm if it dies.... doesn't that mean the screen is then off?
You could charge it with a different charger. My phone charger charges my view way faster than the stock charger.

Well, you could charge your phone while it's turned on. If you don't want it to ring or something just turn airplane or silent mode on. I have this phone for over two years and last night was the first time I charged it while it was off and it didn't fully charge

i cant charge my battery when battery is fully empty. and want to use external battery charger for charge battery a bit to can boot up android to continue charging.
I'm having the same problem with my HTC Evo 3D, it's been dead for a week and I tried to charge it, the red light comes on, and I try to turn it on, it shows the white HTC screen, and then as soon as it starts the boot animation it just stays there for hours.

Get it checked soon, this indicates serious problem to come in your motherboard. Hardly repairable.

Hey don't worry I had the exact problem and look! I'm replying with my EVO it actually happened to two of my batteries if you want to fix this you could buy a new battery or with your charger you have to constantly plug in your USB while connected to an outlet and press and hold the power button then pull the cord once the red light disappears do this a lot eventually the red light will stay on after it flashes once hope it helps!
