that made no sense really.. all the threads tons of people have been posting about the screen bleed issue have been in the general section. what does a manufacture/design problem have to do with development..?
It might have to do with your Rom too, when I first got my amaze I BARELY noticed the bleeding. Now I notice is sooooo freakin much, (bulletproof)

for me it was just the opposite, also the colors of the screen your on makes a big difference, bright colors on the screen makes it harder to notice, only noticable for me when watching youtube videos

man, gotta love what HTC does with their T-mobile phones, then on ATT they build tanks like the inspire and vivid..

The best way to eliminate screen bleed is with this code:
su
echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/brightness
chmod 0333 /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/brightness
run it through terminal.
Since I'm lazy, I wrote a script to run instead of having to type in the terminal every time I reboot, but i haven't figure out how to run it at boot.

can't you run the script on a custom rom with Init.d Support, That's what it's there for. talk to X, this might be a good idea for his roms. If you don't mind would you be able to provide the script...would much appreciate it

im trying to accomplish this as well, i created a script and placed it in the /system/etc/init.d/ but it doesnt stick.. whenever i turn the screen on, the cap lights turn on again..

I am unlocked and fully rooted. When setcpu is running it pops on the screen getting permissions every 20sec or so, could the old temp root methods cause this. All my other phones never did that. I'm just getting annoyed seeing it on the screen every 20 secs... Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

There is no need for anyone to be aggressive. What Mr. Diaz said will work.
Also are you running any other options in Set CPU? Such as having it display on notification bar, the min and max frequencies?
Edit: I fixed this by unchecking the boxes in the profile tab, hence I ask.
Appreciate my help? Thank me

Wow this device is AMAZING!!! It's really fast and I'm getting about 13mbs here in Connecticut. Anyone worried about getting it really shouldn't be. But I noticed my homescreen gets blurry when I go from page to page and its pretty annoying to my eyes. Other than that I'm so excited to start flashing roms on this bad boy!!!

Yeah i just got my about 30 minutes ago and i love it, so much better than my sensation aha
The only thing I was pretty irritated by when I first got the phone was really just the screen. It blurs when there's motion and if you look closely enough, you can see the pixels. Other than that, I love this phone

Those coming from the Sensation please note that this device is NOHTING like the Sensation. ROM, themes, hacks, apps, etc may NOT work with the Amaze 4G.
We have several scripts that will do pretty much all the work for you and hundreds of hours have been dedicated to producing those scripts.

I am very active in these forums and most would say that I'm very strict. However I also have a dry humor, sarcastic side of me and it's sometimes difficult for new members to tell the difference. So if you think that I'm upset look for one of these little guys. If I'm being sarcastic I'll probably not add one.

Umm.. I don't think so.
I hate that app anyway. It's fine for people to catch up on the forum while their are waiting for court or at the dmv or whatever... but so many people use that app to do the majority of their xda reading and end up missing like 90% of the content. Then they say "I did read and search but didn't see it" and end up posting in the wrong section. Seriously! Over half of the new posts that I end up deleting all say "Sent from my HTC Amaze 4G" or whatever.
I do it from time to time too but the majority of my posts are from a computer.
However I understand it because the convenience of it. I really do.
That's why I try to come up with ways for people to do things without the use of a computer. Such as the flash_image binary that can flash the kernel without using EKF. Android devices have been using that binary file for years now and I've been trying to push it ever since the Amaze came out. It wasn't until just recently that xboarder decided to put it in his roms.
Point is, if people want to be completely without a pc then why use a pc to flash kernels? Or if they do have access to a pc to flash kernels, why use the XDA app to post their questions? I don't get it.
Yeah really good point binary, going to try to root n flash a Rom soon, I'm about to turn on my pc for the first time in about two months lol

Just thought I'd share this bit of info. Not sure if this is a widely known hidden menu..

True. I like some features that are available in other ROMs, so I usually use those. I'm not a big "flashaholic" like some, but I test some. I'm not remotely upset. Just sharing.
I'm loving this ROM so far but I have an issue when the phone rings. No matter what ringtone I set, it gives me the old rotary phone ring and doesnt stop even when I answer the call. So i'm talking to whoever and its still blasting that ring in my ear X(. any one get this or know how to fix it?
Im running the current 4.2.2 Port.

Wrong port, wrong thread.
Every time i go to a mostly black screen (my homescreen is pretty bare and black) i notice that the screen dims the brightness slightly.
This happened with the stock rom and now again with GPE.
Auto-Brightness is if course disabled.
Reminds me of my old samsung TV which did the same unless i enabled the "movie mode".
It bugs me slighly, can i somehow turn it off?

Is it a medical condition with you? Its in the OP.
Wow. He/she is trying to help you and you being rude to them is not going to get you anywhere. And no there isn't a hard wire and the only thing is the adaptive lighting.

He didn't read the question properly, twice. He has nothing to contribute, like you. You two are just wasting my time.
And yes, despite adaptive lighting being off it's still doing it to a small degree. If you dont notice it, fine. If you dont know why its doing it, fine. Just don't reply.

Hmm, someone needs to get laid
You seem to have pretty useless input over a range of device forums. Granted, i didn't read and answered in a rush, but you're just out for blood from anybody.
Hopefully you'll get as much help from the rest of the forum.

I have noticed the same "issue" as the OP and it slightly bugs me too. Whenever I go back to the homescreen with a dark wallpaper the screen slightly dims. And this has nothing to do with "adapt to lightning conditions" as I always have it off.
I guess it can be something related to the "contend adaptive brightness" feature that some phones has but that feature should only dim lighter backgrounds. I guess there's nothing we can do to prevent it from happening.

Holy ****, you're not making any friends around here.
What you have to do to solve this issue is to... search. I can't just give you the answer.

So other then your "social" comment, which is neither wanted nor in any way usefull, you are basically saying i should search.
Great advice, thank you!

Correct. I could give you the answer, but I don't help rude people, and I would say that you have to be rather dense if you ask people a question, insult them and then expect to get the answer. Great move, Mr. Hawking!

Oh, now suddenly you have the answer, right. PM it to dannejanne then since he has the same issue but was neither rude nor insulting.

Let's just say that I read a similar thread about a week ago. Not in the Ultra section, but in a model Z section (Z/Z1 etc.). I believe the answer was in that thread.
I'm not joking. That thread exists. You can either believe me and spend time looking for that thread, or you can ignore this and still have no answer.
